I find it fascinating how people came to America. My ancestors came here in 1690s so I am watered down, generationally speaking.

It is very interesting, and all our ancestors immigrated from somewhere.
Bought my dad a great Ellis Island book and he loved it.

I was reading up thread about poster's parents and grandparents working really hard to make it in this country. I know my work ethic was passed down from generations before me. I don't see the same drive in my children or their friends. They all just seem to want a pass. It bugs me.

You're right, too many want a pass. Some kids I know make their living selling drugs. Very sad. No ambition.
