The electric bill was low here- it's a co-op, so the rates are pretty low.
I'm getting tired, so I'm going to bed. It stopped raining, so I need a cigarette and then I hope I will sleep.
Goodnight, sis. :seeya:

Way off topic, but can anyone tell me anything about how to use a webcam? Look how dark, or are they all like this?

Tulessa, beautiful pic (other than the light)! I think most webcams are the same, you'll have to splurge just a little bit and get a better quality one. My husband got one that works very well and the pic looks bright and clear...can't remember the brand right now, but I wanna say Sony. I don't think price was too bad. So I guess just go to Best Buy or wherever, and get one of the middle-upper priced ones.

Lesson My Daughters Learned From Me

My trainers diesel truck battery was dead in the motel parking lot. I told her we would jump it and bring it back to the horse show grounds. My daughters have never had to jump a car before, however I have done it multiple times back in the day.

So, I back my car next to the truck and access my battery which is in my trunk. My daughters are telling me that my car doesn't need to be running blah blah blah. Wrong. I hook the cables up and the truck doesn't turn over. So we try to jump the secondary battery on the truck. My know it all daughters insisted on hooking the cables up.

Well you guessed it. My daughters hooked it up wrong. Smoke then flames are coming from under the truck hood. I saw it and started yelling. I jumped out of my car to unhook the cables from my battery and it was also on fire. Mercedes has asbestos lined trunk pads so I just put it over the battery to put out the flames. My daughter came running over and put her hand on the melting cable handles which were HOT. She burned her hand.

Well we averted disaster. I was super ticked off by this time. I had to attend to the truck and my daughters hand at the same time. It was 90 degrees and humid. I was one "mad" woman in a parking lot! The truck was jumped by me. My daughters hand was tended to by me. Sometimes us MOMS do know something they don't. :floorlaugh:

Oh Zuri...rough day!! Hope the rest was ok....

I probably would've just waited for the next man that walked by and dumped the job on him....loL! :floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

I don't know if you all have experience the joys of Autocorrect on your smart devices.

I texted my 22 year old daughter that I drank one of her Mikes Hard Lemondae. Well it changed it to Mikes hard *n Lemonade. OMG WTH :banghead:

hahahhahaha.....:floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

This one is built into my new lap top. I've never had a cam before. I hope I just need to find the settings.

Niner, ILiketoBendPages, and others....thank you for putting a smile to my face tonight! I absolutely loved reading your stories and reminices (sp?). It's so nice to read about something so pure and innocent, esp. for all of us on here who spent 5 months with the evil-ness of CMJA. Also with all the stuff lately in the news....so nice to go back to carefree times!! Thank you!!

Hi, I remember the day they dropped the bomb. Plane was the Enola Gay. Next was Nagasaki. For all their atrocities they desrved it. Bombs brought them to their knees. My husband saw Nagasaki in 1953 there was nothing but stumps! I sometimes think my generation experienced the most, in a good way.Prop planes flying~ we could walk out on airstrip to meet people! I did when Joe came home..Einstein yes.So much.faster records 33 1/2 LP's. I still have Les Paul and Mary Ford. couldn't touch his playing with a 10 ft. pole, change in cars too..:seeya:

BocksCar was the other B 29 that dropped Fat Man on Nagasaki. Kids today don't believe us when we tell them that there were no "gates" and we did walk out and meet people at the plane, and the planes were bare. Not as plush as they're today.

My dad took me to Lovefield one Sunday morning to change out a radio on a plane that was being redone for the University of Purdue.

I remember walking out to the plane and my father lifting me up (it was a DC 3 and called a tail dragger). He went into the cockpit and I sat in a seat near by. The seats were like folding metal chairs and the floor was plain plywood. He started the engines, talked with the control tower and all was well.

On Wednesday the plane crashed and burned on take off. My father was to of been on it, but had moved onto the second plane that Purdue had there to be redone. I remember two cars full of men coming to our house to tell us that my dad was on the plane and had 90 percent burns and didn't look like he would make it. As they were telling my mother the bad news my father drove up and it was a shock to them and us. It was ruled pilot error because his boss wasn't rated on that plane and decided to take a test flight.

Do you remember seeing blimps and hearing the sound barrier being broken by jets?

We still have big collection of LP's and look for more at thrift stores and garage sales.

Wow. So glad your dad was not on that plane. I read "The Aviator's Wife" recently and it was a really good book. It was about Charles Lindburgh and his wife and the kidnapping of their baby. It also went into the evolution of flight during Lindburghs life. Fascinating. Thanks for sharing. :seeya:

Diana Nyad is almost to Key West. I really admire women who pursue these feats. I would never dream of swimming in shark infested waters and with jelly fish. Bravo to her.

Hi I like to bend, yes I remember the blimps. GoodYear was stationed right over in Akron, it was in the air a lot. The sound barrier oh yes! everything shook!! was scary at first. We had electric buses for awhile then the Rapid Transit came in. They should have followed up with that. What gets me is in 1954 my husband was in Mount Sinai hospital at East 105th and Euclid Ave. I was 8mos.along and I walked up to get him hamburgers. Try that now Nore, I'd be dead or beaten or both!! some things are sad. I have records too,45's and 33's.many old ones. Herb Alpert and Tiajuana Brass!! (sp).. :seeya:

Hmmm. It looks like you have a light source behind on you, on the ceiling?

That can cause the picture to look a little dark. Maybe if you put a little lamp in front of you that will help it not look so dim. That usually helps for me. If the light is shining into the cam as oppose to away from it, the picture can look a little dark. Just a thought?

Also, where do you live? I am loving the architecture in your home.

Thanks. We live on top of a mountain in the Appalachian mountains. We rent a cabin every year in the Smokys. I told hubby that I wanted my walls and flooring at our home to be like the inside of those cabins. A couple of years ago, i got my wish. He done the work himself. :)

Wow I am just loving that. I bet it smells amazing in there! It's my dream too to build our house the way I want it from scratch. It's more personal and you get what you want. Houston is filled with builder grade McMansions. It's depressing.

Looking lovely as usual, Tulessa, you have such a sweet heart and a sweet face to match. And I love the room behind you in the pic. I love the walls and how cozy it looks, like a comfy cabin or a lodge in the woods.

If I could afford it, my whole house would be decorated with stuff from Bass Pro Shops. I love their stores and how they look and the stuff they sell. That was where hubby and I met and had our first date and each date afterwards until I moved to where we live now.

I have a few pictures on my walls but mostly it is nature themed. I have bear shade lamps and bear rugs on the hardwood. We are leaving this coming Monday for our yearly trip. I pick up most of my decor from the shops down there. My back yard is the mountains, and it's so peaceful here. Not safe to venture outside at night tho because of the wild critters. :)

All we have done is the walls and the floors. We also done my MIL's for her for a Christmas gift. She's so special and goes with us every year. :)
