Kensie, my mom labored 32 hrs. with me, 11 with my brother. Doctor told me he had never seen such a small pelvic area as mine. Afterbirth broke away from my uterus, my baby girl died. My granddaughter a wisp of a thing wouldnt dialate more than 7. after about 29 hrs. he did a c section. Baby 8lbs.12 1/2 oz 23 "..she was sore from the kicking. Thank God she got the bikini cut, I didnt..I lost all the weight, they wanted me to keep some. They should see me now.:floorlaugh:

I am so sorry Nore.

I was lucky I only labored a few hours and both times they were induced. Overall I had easy pregnancies.

Nancy Grace is heartbreaking again tonight :( Baby boy found alive, wrapped in garbage bags, in a trash pile :(

Thank goodness he's alive and has a chance at a beautiful life.

I cannot stomach that. Why are people so crazy and irresponsible. If you don't want a precious baby, get fixed. People make me sick. Sorry M you caught me on one of my soapboxes.

Believe me, I know the feeling...you should see me when I can't find the remote!!

I'll spend a hour frantically searching for the remote before I'll actually change a channel manually! lol

Yeah, I had to be induced because I had Gestational Diabetes (no, my daughter did not have autism- although I am an older mother- I think that has more to do with autism than being induced). The levels of Pitocin were so high that I was crying from the pain, but the pain was gone when I got my epidural. The downside of the epidural was that I was shaking so hard afterward, I was afraid to hold my baby for fear I would drop her. I'd still recommend an epidural. I didn't need an enema, I lost all control of my bowel and bladder functions (embarrasing, but the nurse handled it with no big deal). I could've slapped my first nurse who commanded me not to pant. I loved her replacement- reminded me of the character Eve from Northern Exposure, calmed me right down, she was wonderful!! Don't not have a kid because of the war/labor stories...

yes, I know what you mean, I think I started crying somewhere in there too. LOL. Not funny then but funny now.

I also loved my last labor nurse....by that time my doctor was about to wheel me out for a C-section b/c the baby still wasn't coming out...this nurse came in and she was so calm and she sat there and did the little breathing things....1,2,3, PUSh, 123 PUSH....lol....she was SO GOOD and she kept doing that and lo and behold my baby came out!! Doctor said she had already told C-section people to get everthing ready, but then we didn't need it. The nurses can make a big difference, I'm sure the first nurse(s) were good too, but the last one was really special.

This sounds barbaric! :scared:

I'm loving everyone's childbirth stories. If I ever get pregnant I'm coming to y'all for support!

i promise it's not that bad and well worth it. yes things can go wrong but it's rare especially with all of today's technology and usually if there is an issue things are caught. there is risk in everything in life so yes things can happen, but in general, our bodies are made to have children so you just have to trust your body. i think the key is finding a dr you are comfortable with. My dr is young but he's also an old school type doc which i really like. he won't even consider induction unless you are 10 days past your due date or there is a problem with mother/baby that induction is the safer choice. i have friends that go to drs who if you ask them for an induction a week early they are all about it (this IMO is not good medical practice). statistically, if you have an induction with your first, and your body isn't ready you are more likely to end up with a c-section (not gonna search for a link for that but I have been told that by my doc and about 50 million other internet sites when I was preg with my first lol).

i think birth centers are awesome. one of the top birth centers is right next to my hospital but i'm too much of a scardey cat to do it, i have absolutely no pain tolerance whatsoever but my friend just had twins without an epidural, i wanted to give her a medal! lol. I watched the Ricki Lake documentary "the Business of being born" which was fascinating, I highly recommend it to anyone interested and or planning on having kids. I didn't agree with everything in there but it was still cool!

geeze i wish i had your nurse when I was in labor with my son! not only was my nurse absentminded but my doc wasn't on call. my son was born via c section healthy as a horse...if you can't tell I'm still upset about the whole experience!

Get post Molly. I agree with you that inductions should be done for medical reasons and not for convenience. I was overdue when I was induced and had elevated blood pressure.

I had to turn the channel. I'm in a foul mood and just can't listen to another heartbreaking story.

Good night peeps. I have to go to the grocery store and make supper . I have had less than 6 hours of sleep in the best two nights. Believe me, I have to have sleep to function.

Have fun and I will read about tonight tomorrow.

Evening, m :seeya:
Here we are talking about our experiences in giving birth and NG has had 2 heartbreaking stories of babies the past 2 days. Just awful. :stormingmad:

I have a funny picture for you to cheer you up (a little, I hope):

Evening Queen :seeya:

Awesome picture, love it! :floorlaugh:

Was just sitting on my patio, little boy is still out running around again while the numerous adults ignore him. Just heard one of the females say "get your 🤬🤬🤬 back here you little s***. Bad baby." So that in combination with NG the last couple nights....:stormingmad: I should just go lay in bed and watch cartoons or something.

Ok, Mollyandme...spill the beans. A faint positive on a HPT...when are you going to test again??

first thing in the morning haha. usually they say if its a faint line and its pink it's still a positive just very early in the pregnancy. i'm a "pee on a stick" pro after having 2 kids lol. i get the early tests where you can test before you even missed your monthly visitor

omg that is terrible! i'm so glad you called and reported them. i bet theres drug use going on in that house. drugs and child neglect go hand in hand from my experience of 5 years in child welfare..ugh

PLEASE keep us posted!

And DON"T GET YOUR LABOR INDUCED. (unless it's like a medical emergency or something). This hurts like hell. I think it's because of the meds they give you to start your labor. I thought my pain was normal, I thought it was just me who was a wimp and couldn't handle it. I think I had to get MULTIPLE epidurals. I couldn't imagine how anyone could go thru it without epidurals or have some peaceful experience in a bathtub with rose petals and violins playing a la Gisele and other models/movie stars. But thennnn....last year my SIL had a baby with induced labor, she had already had 2 previously which were not induced, and she said the third (induced) one the pain was MUCH WORSE. She also said the pain was unbearable. So then I felt better :)

I read the article in Forbes, but could not find what medical journal it was originally published in. It was not in JAMA or the Journal of Pediatrics that I could find. The study was done by someone at Duke according to Forbes. Any info you could give me would be much appreciated. :seeya:
