Hello hello, what's happening in here this morning?

absolutely nothing interesting going on in my life apart from spending it 'resting'

Sent from my 'alternate reality' using my hippocampus

So...nothing noteworthy to report?

It wasn't just the grinding on Robin Thicke though. It was the...everything. Everything about that performance made me so embarrassed for her.

My dad made kocsonya for us one Christmas, because it was a special treat when he was growing up.

Kocsonya, or jellied pig's feet, is a Hungarian dish. Needless to say, none of us kids were willing to even try it.

Oh! My mom used to make that - but it was called "gullet" - in Latvian. Don't know how to spell it, but it "sounds" like that! She usually used chicken instead of pork - and you put vinegar and/or mustard on it! It was GOOD!!!

Never heard of "scrapple", but it DOES sound disgusting... :scared: my Huz says I'm a picky eater - I agree!! LOL!

Looks likes it's only me here this morning... :seeya:

edited to add: oops - I "see" BaileyB and n-zed on here!! and 5 "lurkers"!! How come your name doesn't show up MeeBee???

Land's End is good for cotton tops, and so is L. L. Bean. My favorites, though, are from Banana Republic (they last forever!).

I still wear a pair of white shorts that I bought from Banana Republic in 1985.

They are just starting to fray on the hemline.

I just ordered 3 tops from Lands End - they have 30 percent off right now.
I ordered some tops from Amazon - the brand name is Three Dots and they
are suppose to be 100 percent cotton and made in the USA. Now, I will go look at Banana Republic.

Gcharlie - you can wear shorts that you wore in 1985!!! Impressive.
I have out grown my 1985 weight and figure.

I just checked Banana Republic - wow I like that place.
THe models are so so so so thin.
Anyway, I ordered 2 tops from them.
They have 40 percent off right now.

Hey Josie, I saw the pics of your foot...how is it feeling now?

It's fine bruising is changing everyday and I can put a little weight on it.
Had my boot off last night was heaven, didn't want to put it back on:(

I have a question. Where can you find good quality cotton tops?? I love cotton . Since my anthill hooters changed into cannons, I need some new tops. All I can find is either polyester (yuck) or disgusting cheap cotton.

There is a brand called Fresh Produce that has nice cotton tops. Not the thin cotton that the kids wear. They last forever. I still have ones I bought in Florida 15 years ago. HTH

Heading out the door to our county fair....yummy fair food (cotton candy, caramel apples and elephant ears). Love looking at all the livestock raised by 4H youngsters and displays of prize winning veggies and flowers. Too old (and wide!)for the carnival rides, but will enjoy the rodeo instead.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Enjoy your weekend too Idaho Lynx! :seeya:

Isn't there some kind of court hearing this morning??

Niner, it wasn't a hearing per se. MCSO received a subpeona to provide phone records to the court, as requested by Willmott. If they did not get them in by today, they needed to appear in front of the judge, probably to explain why and set a date by which they could deliver the records.

Just had to find out what those "elephant ears" were and found this: (because I'm nosy  :floorlaugh:)

ELEPHANT EARS
(makes 15 Servings)
1 1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons white sugar
3/8 cup shortening
2 tablespoons active dry yeast
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 quart oil for frying
3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
6 tablespoons white sugar
Directions
In small saucepan over medium heat, combine milk, salt, 2 tablespoons sugar and shortening. Heat until shortening melts and sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool to lukewarm, 110 degrees F (43 degrees C). Sprinkle in yeast and let sit until foamy.
Transfer mixture to large bowl, and stir in flour to make a dough. Knead until smooth, cover and let rise 30 minutes.
In a large heavy skillet or deep fryer, heat 1 inch of oil to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Roll out 1 to 2 inch balls of dough into thin sheets. Fry sheets 1 to 2 minutes on a side, until puffed and golden. Drain on paper towels.
Combine cinnamon and 6 tablespoons sugar. Sprinkle over warm pastries. Serve.

Don't they look yummy
This reminds me of the Zeppole at the Italian feast in NYC except they are, sort of, like round balls and we sprinkle with powdered sugar. :seeya:

Hello everyone! husband and i had date night last night and went to see the Zac Brown Band. It was awesome!!!!! I have been nursing a hang over all day and feel like crap. I don't really drink much since having kids and all i had was 5 beers over the course of 7 hours and I'm completely worthless today...ugh.
