The DT completely abandoned the physical abuse/attack in the bathroom in their closing arguments. Nurmi did not mention it at all. They knew it was an epic fail and to try to push it any further would not help their case.

Given that the guilt and aggravation phases are already decided, what works to the DT's advantage in terms of trying to spare her life? If I were the DT, I would not want her taking the stand again. If she takes the stand again, is she going to hold to the fallacy of only two gas cans and cling to the lie of returning one? If she takes the stand again, she runs the risk of Martinez exposing many more of her lies and this second go round, I believe that he would produce the witnesses needed to do so. She also has to keep her lies straight because Martinez has a transcript of every word she said on that witness stand and we all know how good his memory is.


From what AZLawyer says about the retrial, there is a lot of negotiation going on between the State and the defense right now about the form and substance of the penalty and aggravation phases for the retrial. Guess I just have to be patient and wait for things to happen.

In the meantime, I can occupy myself with pure speculation.

thanks! im scared out of my mind. I have a 2 year old and a 9 month old lol...oh well!!! god is good and it will all work out! we found out the gender with our first two, so since we have a girl and boy we are gonna let this one be a surprise. I have no clue on names tho! My first two's names begin with "M" and my name begins with an M too. I dunno if I wanna do another M name or not, but I want a classic name. I'm a little annoyed because I love the name Lily for a girl buy my husband says "no flower names" ugh!!! In terms of boys names, I have no idea. I go to the doctor on october 9th but my due date based on my calculations is 5/20/14. i have a fall and winter baby, so it will be nice to have a spring/summer baby!

i have low blood pressure too...i totally hear you on the faint standing thing. I gotta stand up really slow or I feel like I'm going to black out. i dunno what to do it about it, i guess it's better than having high blood pressure
