Yum! Love collard greens, and especially the pot likker!

We took the last of the collard plants out of the garden a couple weeks ago, made collard green stew, and canned 6 quarts.

Oh, that makes me think of City/Country/City.

Any Jazz Crusaders fans here? You may not remember them as a band, but it included Joe Sample, Larry Carlton, Wilton Felder, and Stix Hooper originally.

I can't find a link to that song, darn. Here's one to "Way Back Home"

I know and love that song. Hey can we go to the Montreaux (sp?) Jazz Festival for our honeymoon?

Talk to me nice...you got to wine me..and dine me...

Diana Krall - Peel Me a Grape - YouTube

Fred Mertz would kick me to the curb in a heartbeat for a chance at Diana Krall - he was devastated when she married Elvis Costello 'cause he can't stand him, whereas I love him, so The Mertz listens to Diana while I listen to this:

I'm feeling a little tribute to the ladies is in store...

What a fun thread...Blasts from the past! Classic Stax of Classic Wax! (Yes, in the Beginning, There Was VINYL.)

Nobody here likes Country music?

:truce:

As a genre, not really. But specific artists? Definitely. Willie. Waylon. And Keith Urban is pretty darn cute. :)

But...how about ROCKABILLY?
Stray Cats - Rock This Town - YouTube

But for me, it will always be Beatles4Ever. I was 12 when I saw them on the Ed Sullivan Show and I was gone, baby, gone.

Yes, lets!

I seriously do not know anyone IRL who knows that song.

This has been the most fun weekend I have ever had at WS. Thanks to you all for turning us on to so much great music and memories. It has been a trip, as we used to say back in the day. :)

Rockabilly is cool!

Willie Nelson is the best. Went to many of his 4th of July Family Picnics and for many years he'd have a New Years Eve concert at the Summit in Houston

Vivi - I did not watch AI, but that is a beautiful duet!

I went to Halloween one year as Luci from beyond the grave, and hubby was supposed to come as Desi from beyond the grave. He showed up at my company HW party as Ethel, and I was quite beyond shocked, but he looked hilarious!

And just for the record, I have not seen him cross dress before or since. :)

That is hysterical!!! Do you have any pictures of the two of you in costume? Did your husband wear an old house dress with his arms folded in front of him? That's Ethel's classic pose and I love it - so much attitude! He sounds like a great guy... Mr. Mertz would never do that, though one time he dressed me as Devo just for the heck of it.

He just asked me to post this for your pleasure:

Screams, was shuffling through my lady loves and you throw in the Grass Roots? Have you no mercy?
