By yo self? A scary movie? That would put me in an inebriated state.

LOVE scary movies. I might sleep with the lights on for a few nights afterward but i do love them. :)

I am not looking forward to Halloween. I have become one of those who turns the light off if no one else is here to hand out candy.

That's what I've started doing,my sister and her friend will take my kidlets and her friends nieces trick or treating and I close the blinds lights off.

Not doing it to be mean but I can't afford to buy treats for everyone. I've got a budget that I need to stick to or I am sHort for electric and gas for the heating.

Lol, now I want popcorn for breakfast.

Live in an apartment here too. I do not turn on the light or hand out treats, no one should that lives alone. I miss doing that though. When I was married we did it every year and had a lot of fun watching the little ones so excited. We stopped before the big ones started coming around.

One year a friend just put a big bowl of candy on his porch with a sign about Happy Halloween. He and his family were going somewhere. Before they got to leave, an adult came up and took the entire thing, including the bowl! Honestly, he should not have thought it would be okay anyway, but taking the whole thing was down right terrible.

I've already started watching scary movies to get in the holiday mood. Since someone here mentioned "Magic" I found that and watched it yesterday. That was interesting really, and anything Hopkins is right up my alley, love that actor.

For Halloween I like to watch the family type movies and The Peanuts. :D

I don't know, Nore. I'm just wondering. It was incomprehensible to me that no one in her family would speak up during the mitigation phase of the trial. The only reason for that that I could think of was that the defense had portrayed them as child abusers previously. ??

And that fact that they would have to confirm that most of what she was telling the jury was a lie. Especially if Jodi never was an exchange student. jmo

I love good truly scary horror movies. But I don't like the kind that is totally fatalistic, like so many of the newer ones, I'm talking about the ones where there is no real good guy, and / or everyone including the hero / heroine dies. :banghead: I also don't care for grotesque gory stuff.

For Halloween, one of my favorites is the original Halloween movie, with Jamie Lee Curtis. :scared: Love the music too. :)

Speaking of popcorn, we always made popcorn balls for Halloween when we were kids. I remember using Karo corn syrup to make them, messy, but still fun and very yummy. Gosh, we made everything back then. Wish I could have one right now, lol. :sigh:

I agree with you!

What she wrote was garbage. It was insulting to read it.

It's disgusting, and it's based on the false premise that males were to blame for the mistrial.

I hadn't thought of that! Thanks for pointing it out.

No one-even her old lovers won't stand up for her. She has no friends, and apparently her family don't want to get involved. :floorlaugh:

IIRC Brewer was willing --they just didn't call him. They wanted juryvto believe everyone was afraid of death threats:seeya:

Oh yes, Halloween the movie is great!

(I've watched 4 crappy films online today while sewing, ironing, and cleaning. Lol!)

Used to love making popcorn balls! They were so good. One year I got the idea to add some stale mini marshmallows while it was all hot enough to melt them. They actually tasted even better! Great fun, great memories! Thanks for bringing those back!

This morning my dad and I drove to his hometown to join up with his family to attend mass on the one year anniversary on my aunt's death. Then we met with my dad's brothers and sisters for breakfast.

Helen died of a massive stroke last year at the age of 82. She and my uncle were married for 59 years. He choked up several times this morning talking about her.

Helen was an in-law. There's a joke amongst the siblings that they are all too hard headed to go before their spouse. The seven siblings are all still alive, with the eldest being ninety and having survived a traumatic brain injury 15 years ago that has left him incapacitated. Only two siblings now have a living spouse. Their generation has done well in terms of longevity, while mine has seen three die with a grandchild dying as well.

Life is so precious and there is no rhyme or reason as to why some die young and others live long healthy lives. My uncle is an example of a medical miracle in terms of surviving a catastrophic injury, yet he functions at the level of a three year old and cannot remember from one day to the next. Still, he is perfectly content in his existence.

We had a lovely breakfast and it was nice to be able to have a smaller gathering. After breakfast, we visited the graves of family members no longer with us. I gave my uncle a warm hug and rubbed his back, wishing that I could do more yet knowing that his sorrow comes from part of truly loving someone. If we did not love people so much, we would not feel the pain and sorrow. It is a conundrum of sorts, yet it also bring me comfort in terms of dealing with my own sorrows.

You can link to the page and paraphrase what it says. You just cant post a picture of what is on the page or copy and paste the information. But linking it is okay.

Thanks LC! This guy was posting on the State vs Arias FB page and seems to exemplify those crazy guys who latched onto Arias. A FB poster then pointed out that he was posting on a fake JA page on FB. You can note his behavior here:

Note Johnny's comments underneath the JA picture. :floorlaugh::floorlaugh::scared::floorlaugh:

Definitely not, but he's not the first. The JAII site has at least one of them on display. Very sad, but I can't help but :floorlaugh:

"Wow i still cant believe i am talking to you and its raining on and off"

Totally unrelated--

Sorry I had to post and run, but I had errands to do. When I got home, a little ladder-backed woodpecker was pecking around in the mulberry tree, and one of the few remaining hummingbirds was buzzing it, trying to drive it away! :floorlaugh:

The only reason for this that I can think of is that the hummingbird sees the woodpecker as competition for the nectar at the feeders. Sometimes the ladderbacks will land on feeders and stick their beaks in for a drink.

I saw a hummingbird buzz an owl once, but all of the birds in the backyard were doing that, even though the owl was asleep...:floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

I got fed up with the robo-calls and changed the message on my answering machine. "Hello, you've reached #. This call is being screened for unwanted robo-calls, surveys and sales calls. Please leave your name, number and a brief message. Thank you for calling and have a good day."

So the phone rings tonight and I hear this voice "Hello, I'm calling for a brief survey. It's only a few questions, so I'm going to keep calling back until you answer them for me."

What???

The phone rang again...it was my son. He disguised his voice on the first call and played me good. :floorlaugh:

Just popping in quick before my sister gets here. She's staying with me for one more week, then moving in to her own apartment next weekend. Not going to lie, I'm enjoying her company.

The BEST scary movie I've seen is The Strangers. I own it and I've watched it over a dozen times, still scares the bejeezus out of me.
