Thank you Zuri!

The rash is finished now, I was using the 2 year old and outdated Clobetesol. Ever how you spell it, the generic Clobex.

I don't know what a PCP is???

I was going to Patient First, a "Doc in the Box", and they told me to find a dermatologist. So, I went with what I could via work insurance at the time, and went back this year. Last year I went to an allergist that wanted nothing to do with the face rash, but tested me for allergies, which I needed. Also wanted me to take shots several times a week for at least 5 years, along with flonase and OTC claritin or the likes. I could not afford that, and it was not addressing the skin "allergies".

It could be anything. I don't know now that the Dermatologist went weird on me.

I know I don't have HVS. That is clear to me. I just don't know what is going on and it is frightening. Nor can I keep getting meds for something I don't have, right between my eyes. Very dangerous.

So, should I call the regular doc (is that what PCP is) once they get all the medical records to set an appointment? But for what? (I haven't been to that doc since 2006, I went to get a baseline of inherited issues like Diabetes, Heart issues, but I moved within the City and never went back). The 2006 doctor's phone person said I should wait until the rash happens again, then, they can test for shingles. But, the doctor does not have all the records yet. Will they call me or should I call them?

Thank you, again!

Primary Care Physician= PCP. No doc in the box as you will not get continuity IMO. Don't worry about your medical records for the moment. You have to be proactive and call them. It is better to go while you don't have the rash as they can see what your baseline is. Called a "New Patient Visit". Call them. They probably won't call you. HTH!!!

Merc, I have some other thoughts too. You have to rule out the cause, so you gotta go back to basics. Change your laundry detergent to no dye/no perfume. Cotton only, no wools. Throw out your foundation, primer, sponges, applicators, brushes, anything you use on your face makeup. Use Lubriderm as a moisturizer. Neutragena soap and facial cleanser. Shampoo and Conditioner: Get something free of perfume, dyes like yellow no. 2 etc., sulfate and paraben free.

Vacuum your mattress and wash the bed linens with the allergy free detergent. If you can, buy new pillows. Or double the pillowcases. No feathers. Take Benadryl at night and an antihistamine that does not make you drowsy during the day. Apply the cortisone cream to affected areas twice a day.

Your PCP may need to put you on a Medrol dose pack. (prednisone in decreasing doses). Change your HEPA filters frequently. There is a tar based shampoo that will work on most atypical dermatitis that you can wash your hair with and affected skin areas. These are relatively cheap solutions. These are just some of the things that have come to mind. If you have cats or dogs, do not put your face up to them and try to keep them out of your sleep areas. If you touch them, wash your hands right after. When you come home from work, change your clothes immediately into something that is freshly clean. If necessary, put your clothes that hang in those zippered covers or dry cleaning plastic to minimize being exposed to the circulating air. Racking my brain here. :loveyou:

Thank you. I already do all of that.

Oh, when the central air got moldy, I didn't help any. For some reason I smelled a pillow that I wanted to replace. Well, there went the dust mite poo right up my nose. Have no idea why I did that, but I did in a moment of thoughtlessness.

A wall fell in at work and was being replaced at the same time as central air leaking and molding here, a building built in 1825. Now a portion of the ceiling fell in , very moldy from years of rain, so rash may occur again when someone is fixing that and drifting all of that by me. Sigh.

I got a larger room air filter for my bedroom, where the central air/furnace is, right by my head.

I have the mattress and pillow covers, thanks for mentioning. And I wash them as should be.

I know you cannot diagnose. I just don't know what kind of doctor to go to or when.

Thank you for any and all advise. The rash is gone now, but I did not like another diagnosis based on poking my face with a bare finger and no tests. Should I expect testing?

:tyou:

Hmmm . . . it looks like I'm the only person here. Hello!! Anybody around? Yoohoo!!!

Oh well. Guess I'll just take advantage of the situation and steal all the family silver while everyone is gone. Heh heh.

Hi gcharlie! I was getting lonely here. :seeya:

I thought I'd stop by WS to see if anything is new. Not much, I guess--except that Nurmi lost some weight!

:seeya: back to you, Becky.

It's been quiet here lately. Need to get the kids to come back out and play some more.

Wonder if Rickki got the purple paint off her door? I would have been pizzed if that happened to me.

Eggs were bad enough...I had to pay to get the house power washed. :stormingmad:

I was hoping there was some news about the trial, but clearly everything is moving at a snail's pace.

How has your weekend been? I've been spending a lazy Sunday--I'm still in my bathrobe :blushing: and now I feel that it's too late in the day to get dressed!

Eggs? Was that from Halloween? If so, then :tantrum: to the little brats.

That was Halloween a few years back. I did not know that I had been egged and it took me a while to see the mess from the eggs. Yuck. Those kids got my house good.

I so want this nonsense with CMJA to just stop and for her to be sentenced.

I so want this nonsense with my mother's final affairs to just stop and for us to know what went wrong, why and what we have to do to square up with the IRS. And fix things, if possible.

As my mother would say, "If wishes were horses, beggars would ride." Meaning it ain't going to happen soon.

Oh, poo :sheesh: I missed Becky Sharp :dracula:

(I miss a lot of people :sigh:)

I've been watching The Kennedys on the Reelz channel all afternoon. Tonight they will have a special program called JFK: The Smoking Gun at 8:00.
I am very interested in anything JFK: he was my president when I was growing up. :loveyou:
It's been 50 years since he was assassinated (God, I'm old).

It's 24 degrees tonight :coldout:

"Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet."
All this waiting around :waiting: drives me nuts, too, but justice is slow sometimes. It will come and at least we have murder 1- the rest is just gravy, IMO.
Your problem will end eventually, but I know it's a hassle right now for you.

What were the sayings that you grew up with as a kid that drove you nuts?

Mine was:

"Because Y is a crooked letter." when we would ask why?

When my mother said "because I said so".

I always say this to my sons, too, but add "I am your Mother". :floorlaugh:

I know some of the side bar regulars don't really want to discuss CMJA, yet I'm bursting with this one.

I haven't ready any of the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, but I do remember it being discussed here earlier this summer. What strikes me as really crazy is that missy has now posted a review of these three books on her "book club" website.

Does it make any sense to people that she would have read this series, given the story line of the trilogy? As a supposed survivor of DV, why would she want to read these books? Who in their right mind would have sent these books to her?

Here's her review:

" The Fifty Shades trilogy is not the best writing, but at its core, it's a great modern-day fairy tale where she rescues him. The kinky sex is gratuitous and excessive to the point of monotony. I found myself slamming pages when it came to that so I could hurry up and get back to the good part - the plot - which included danger, conspiracy, big new money, jet-setting, photoshoots, philanthropy, family, Freudian psychology, rare books, higher education, a broken childhood, stalkers' exes, a cat fight, helicopter rides, a helicopter crash, and, of course, true love." -- Jodi Arias

I am dumbfounded.

Yep, that is exactly what Travis was feeling. Screwing Jodi had gotten old. And lets not forget all those hours Nurmi droned on and on about two people having phone sex and he went way past monotonous the first day.

Thought I'd check in, for what it's worth. Hijacking a neighbor's wifi....thank goodness they didn't password protect!

No way am I going to be able to catch up since i was last on here. I just hope you're all doing well. Missing the late night chats for sure. You're all in my thoughts.

I'm still unemployed, parents have told me they can't help me financially, I'm pretty much on my own. Gonna have to get creative, quick!

How about a temporary Holiday job for now? That would give you a start, and while not permanent, would at least get some money coming in. You could still look for a permanent job while having a bit of income. Good luck!
