Kenzie, have you had a wonderful birthday? I really hope so!

My favorite holiday movie is "Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer". I have watched it every year since I was a child. To me, it represents the true spirit of Christmas and then some. Acceptance of those that are different, giving, forgiveness, and charity.

"Elf" was a funny movie that I enjoy watching every year since it came out. Same idea as Rudolph. Loving those that are different.

Mine are National Lampoon and A Christmas Story.

We are unseasonably warm. In the 70's tomorrow and tornado threats.

Stay warm M.

My husband and brother went fishing at five this morning and, it was seventy and humid, and they came off the lake when the cold front came through here.

Merry Christmas and hope you day was a good one.

Happy birthday to you - YouTube

Squirrel in the house.

Well, I had that happen a few times back when I was married.

We just let the squirrel roam, it fell in through the chimney, and it's family members for years.

Just open the doors, open the windows.

Take pictures, that is what I did. No brooms and towels, no screaming, just let it go and take pictures. They find their way, just like birds. Open, tell them here it is and walk away.

It got so bad that the 90 something year old neighbors would call me to make cats stop trying to get squirrels and birds on the street. I got scratched up a lot holding down a cat from food, but saved Crazy Squirrel and her offspring.

Crazy Squirrel spat at cats and had a tail to show injuries. She got so comfy from us feeding her, she would beg on the window. She had to climb a porch swing and beg, if we did not notice she would cling to the window screen. Peanuts or tortilla chips were her favorite. She eventually would climb up when we sat outside, onto us, knowing she was safe and would be fed.

Bizarre times I miss. I still talk to all outside animals and they still like it. Cannot explain it.

Love this post, 21merc!!! I talk to outside animals, too. People bring me the sick or injured ones. Strangers even. I do the most I can for them. I can't turn them away.

p.s. I release the ones I can

OK add those to my list too!
I love Burl Ives as the snowman singing "Silver and Gold"...and Hermie the Elf who wants to be a dentist, so cute.
Elf, Will Ferrell & Peter Dinklage, ya can't go wrong :)

Hmmmm, no one around; I guess paranoia would say y'all are hiding from me, but I know how we pass each other sometimes.

I've always loved Judith Durham's voice. She's seventy now. Had a brain hemorrhage in May of this year.

THERE ARE NO LIGHTS ON OUR CHRISTMAS TREE
The Seekers

The time has come for festivity,
For Christmas pudding and revelry;
But as I passed a house the other night
I heard this little voice, so clear and bright.

There are no lights on our Christmas tree;
We must not spoil the tele-vee.
No party games, no mistletoe;
Just whistle "Wenceslas," and out you go.

'Bout once a year I become a square;
I love to feel the tinsel in my hair.
I love to hear the songs of days gone by;
But Dad and me, we don't see eye to eye.

The Christmas crackers from Uncle Alf,
They lie unopened upon the shelf.
Dad has forbid them, but we're hoping he
Will think the bangs come from "N.Y.P.D."

There are no lights on our Christmas tree;
We must not spoil the tele-vee.
No party games, no mistletoe;
Just whistle "Wenceslas," and out you go.

(Instrumental bridge)

Some carol singers came to our door;
I've never seen Dad so mad before.
He grabbed the leader by the coat,
And tried to ram his lantern down his throat.

When I grow up to be a man,
There'll be no television in my plan.
With laughter gay, my house will ring;
I never want to hear my family sing…

There are no lights on our Christmas tree;
We must not spoil the tele-vee.
No party games, no mistletoe;
Just whistle "Wenceslas," and out you go.

OMG! i almost forgot "Emmett Otters Jug Band Christmas". This came out when my granddaughter was little, we watched it all the time over the holidays.
Here again is a good teaching story for children. The Otters are so cute. Christmas is very difficult for us but we dont show it at home. Johnny was always so excited, still is but in a more grown up way. He is 13 now.
There was always a pall over Christmas when I was little. My moms sister died on Dec.23, she left a 9 yr.old and 3 mo.old twins. The family never got over it. I wasnt born yet....on a happy note Amy has our tree up! looks so pretty! I only have 3 gifts to wrap, (so far) I will get a few things for the Big kids socks yet. I give my nieces children money, they love buying things!
Time is flying by. I havent been feeling well with asthma etc. Dr. sent an antibiotic but it cramped me and loose so I have a new one. Now I dont know how any of you are but I am half spastic taking a new AB.. this is Doxycycline Hyclate.Dumb axs I am I read the sheet with it. can cause heavy diarreah (sp) well I will have the shakes all night now.:floorlaugh::floorlaugh: my Dr. knows me, 20 some years so I dont think he'd send me a dud. I am great at becoming sensitive to meds~
Kensie my thoughts are with you. But you will make your friends spirit happy by trying. Not an easy task I know. Just do the best you can...:loveyou:

Oh I forgot! it was 48 today, will be about the same tomorrow with heavy rain both Sat. and Sunday. The snow is gone. If it goes to 50, people will be out in shorts! I kid you not..

Lol Neesaki, move over as I would be your driving twin. I swear I think I look like Mr. Bean in that photo all the time.

Trying to find some Christmas spirit. Haven't seen any lights outside, think I will walk around in the dark this weekend for a minute or two to find some. Job is never fun, deal with the worst of the worst, and a relapsed boss. Thankfully he is not the BIG MAN.

No Christmas specials without cable, but youtube will provide some I can look up. May have to pull out the old VCR and VHS tape I made many years ago of a lot of Christmas Specials. Movie? IDK. There are not many? Oooh, ooh, I know.

"Home Alone" was a good holiday film that my kids loved. I must have watched it 100 times with them over the years. I love physical comedy where people fall down or fly up in the air. I know. Something is definitely wrong with me.

Oh, I love this music. Why does this group sound familiar ?

Ok, I checked... :doh: "Georgy Girl" . What a great group, I was like 11 y/o back then. :facepalm:

I have to post this, and I hope you'll all take the 14-15 minutes to watch. SO worth it. This has been all over our local radio and news today, I'll be surprised if it doesn't go viral. Anyway, brief synopsis: a young mother of 4 boys succombs to cancer, but right before her death she writes some letters. One letter is to a local radio station that grants Christmas wishes, and the wish is for her husband, her children, and the new woman in their lives.

Anyway, you just have to see for yourself. Please watch.

Nuh uh, I love that movie too. I think I like it even more than my son did, lol. There was a ton of great comedy moments in that film, old slap stick style. I watch it every year. :)

My daughter bought a Christmas sweater to wear. It says "Merry Christmas You Filthy Animal. :eek:
It is kind of cute and well made. I just had to get over the shock of the saying but she said it was from Home Alone.
