Someone posted a song by the Go Go's last night....I LOVE Belinda Carlisle! Her cassette tape was one of the first I remember rockin' out to. I recently read her memoir and I HIGHLY recommend it to the readers out there. It was an awesome read, and i bought it used on Amazon for less than $2.

It's a bit desolate in here. I bet everyone is getting their last minute preparations done. I know two of my girls are out shopping tonight. Ugh! I don't know why they wait so long and then they have to wrap.
I finally received the last package from UPS. Poor guys are working overtime. They must be waiting for this season to be done with.
I love Christmas and the true meaning but really, it has become so stressful.

My mother made me cry and I don't cry easily. As you know I have adult child issues lately that have had me stressed. Well tonight we had a birthday / Christmas dinner at a favorite steakhouse. Last week I invited my daughter and it made my mother mad but she had seemed to get over it. Around 4 today, my daughter asked if she could bring a friend and I said yes. I checked the reservation to make sure everything would be okay with an extra person. I did not tell my mother about the extra person because I knew she would freak out. She cannot handle last minute changes. The dinner was nice and the guest was very polite. After the dinner as everyone was leaving, my mother lit into me about the extra guest. She was mad that I did not tell her ahead of time and I told her I found out late in the day and did not want her to stress over it. She still got mad at me. I wanted to yell at her that I have enough real stress in my life without her being pissed about something so trivial. I remained clam and the dam broke as I drove home.

Sorry to vent but I had to let it out.

I will Daisy. I know how high strung my mother is and usually I can deal with it but today I snapped. She is a good hearted person but very high strung.

Some people are so "by the book" and hate those last minute changes that it's hard for them to adapt to change of any kind.

I agree with Daisy, don't let it hinder your holiday spirit! I hope it was a great night otherwise.

Kensie, from one who was driven half nuts by her mother (not kidding) dont let it get you down. You did everything right. This is her problem. Sounds hard but its not. After I finally realized this~life went much smoother. :HHJP::christmastree:
