I did get glasses from Walmart!! Best fit I've had in years! honest, prescription was great. Anyway I can swear in German! if I get Johnny up here I can get some in Spanish. :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh:
o good to see you again YorN.. missed you. Gramma.

My grandparents where originally from Germany, and my grandfather would always say this to me "Sie sind eine schöne Dame", (I had to look up how to write this out, lol) which means, "you are a pretty dame" then he would "ho, ho, ho" just like Santa :floorlaugh:
He was a Baptist preacher and was passionate about his beliefs. He would go around quoting scripture, and would preach to people everywhere he went, street corners, grocery stores, didn't matter where. One of his sayings was "I'm as poor as a church mouse, and rich as a king". I didn't appreciate that as much as I should have back then. He was quite eccentric, but I loved him and really miss him.

Well, the killer JA should be sitting high, as she made the cover of the Globe's 'Special Report' issue entitled "Women Who Kill". She, along with Casey Anthony , Aileen Wuornos, Susan Smith and a few others. There are 81 pages dedicated to nothing but women murderers.

The second page of the tabloid is entitled "The Monsters Among Us". I haven't read it yet. Killer JA is featured on pages 7-9, it's entitled, "Jodi Arias, sex kitten turned terrible tigress in vicious bloodbath" :scared: She is featured second only to Patricia Taylor Allanson, who I have never heard of. So in looking over the Table of Contents, I noticed that it's all by alphabetical order. Awe, poor thing, hopefully it won't be too big a let down to learn she's not quite as special as she thinks she is. :giggle: :skip:

Hi, pussycat :seeya:

I had a nice, quiet Christmas with my son. :heartbeat:
And you?

As I get older, everything goes by in a flash. :floorlaugh:

It was hectic kids moaning as usual, they got nothing etc etc. DS was up from 1 am so I didn't sleep for like 30 hours

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks everything speeds by as I age :floorlaugh:

Another hospital appointment today, what a way to spend NYE....super enthusiastic lmao

I've come to the conclusion that the world really is turning faster, that we are wrong in thinking time is measured by minutes, hours, days, years as we know them . I think that God, who I have no doubt has a really good sense of humor, is playing a really, really big joke on everyone, and that time really is much faster than we think it is. ;) :rollercoaster:

It is so good to see you Yes/No.

And good to see you, too. :seeya: Have a Happy New Years Eve (from the
:jester: of the Sidebar :floorlaugh: )

I'm so sorry I had to miss all the days before Christmas and to spend them with all of the gang at the Sidebar. Here's a belated "12 days of Christmas":

Hi everyone!

So what are your plans for this evening?? The Huz and I will have a party of two tonight! :floorlaugh: We won't be going out, just throwing streamers at each other!! LOL!

Oh neesaki - I took German in high school and all I remember is Mein plattenspieler ist kaput - that's "my record player is broken", as we took our lessons listening to records! Anyone remember that? Back in 1963, '64... got a "D"...

Oh YesorNo that was a very nice poem for our Princess :loveyou:

Hope everyone has a FUN and SAFE New Year's eve!!

:fireworks:

Hi to all, I will be here tonight. Not doing a thing, cant drink anything except pop. I dont really care. :loveyou: See you later.

Not doing anything tonight. I think I have to work tomorrow. My boss is never clear on these things.

I've been down about PrincessSezMe. I know we all have. I did not know how bad it was.

May I ask that we not feel guilty for not knowing. Please, as kind souls that we are, we couldn't know either. I do think some of the problems were with the hospital. I know in my home town there are only a handful of the older GP's left, no one specializes, and the hospital literally refers every person out of state. They lost all the doctors and any funding by the '90's. Being from the area, I know that no one can afford to go out of state. Dad even came here to the VA hospital for heart surgery, not knowing it was not what it was in the '60's and it didn't turn out very well. Same with my sister at only 48, must stop speaking of them now. We couldn't know everything. Hang in there...

mm, I don't make any promises to myself. I go one day at a time, remind myself why I am changing something, put post-it notes on the calendar for every couple of months to remind me. Do my best. One day at a time. I can't keep resolutions starting today. (I can't even tell myself what to do without getting mad, so I slowly grow into it with reminders, lol.)

Hope everyone FULLY ENJOYS each moment they can. Good and bad must be considered as learning experiences and growth. Hug your loved ones as much as you can, and say I love you every chance you can squeeze it in.

For my sister, she loved this song for New Year's Eve, and for memories of PrincessSezMe:

Dan Fogelberg - Same Auld Lang Syne Lyrics - YouTube

My kids, their spouses, grand kids, mom and sister will be here. We are not fussing. My son in law bought pounds of cold cuts and I made potato and macaroni salad, plus 3 pies and cranberry bread. I doubt anyone will stay until midnight and that is fine with me as New Years Eve is not a big deal to me. Besides that a few of them have to work tomorrow. I rather have everyone here and know they are safe though.
Maybe I will have a glass of wine.

Going to be right here, with my son, The Queen, and Milo (the cat) tonight.
I hardly ever went out for New Years Eve. Never knew what all the fuss was about- people drinking too much and making a fool of themselves- sloppy- and maybe driving. Very dangerous and scary.
Always liked to stay home- have some friends over or just alone with the loved ones.
And watching The Twilight Zone on the SF channel (it's a tradition ).

Gramma Nore I love you very much and I'm honored to know you. Please have a good New Year and stay with us forever. :loveyou:

Ricki and 21merc7- have a good and safe New Year :seeya:

Lovin' the language learnin' videos! Keep them coming.

BTW, you can get nice funky glasses at DollarTree right now, or make your own with glued on pearls. You just can't see any better with those. :floorlaugh:
