Just before the funeral services, the undertaker came up to the very elderly

widow and asked, 'How old was your husband?

'98,' she replied...'Two years older than me.'

'So you're 96,' the undertaker commented.

She responded, 'Hardly worth going home, is it?'
-----------------------------------------------

Reporters interviewing a 104-year-old woman:
'And what do you think is the best thing about being 104?' the reporter asked.

She simply replied, 'No peer pressure.'

The nice thing about being senile is

You can hide your own Easter eggs and have fun finding them.
--------------------------------------

I've sure gotten old!

I've had two bypass surgeries, a hip replacement, new knees, fought prostate

cancer and diabetes.

I'm half blind,

Can't hear anything quieter than a jet engine, take 40 different medications

that make me dizzy, winded, and subject to blackouts.

Have bouts with dementia.

Have poor circulation;

Hardly feel my hands and feet anymore.

Can't remember if I'm 85 or 92.

Have lost all my friends.

But, thank God, I still have my driver's license.
------------------------------------------

I feel like my body has gotten totally out of shape, so I

got my doctor's permission to join a fitness club and start exercising.

I decided to take an aerobics class for seniors.

I bent, twisted, gyrated,

jumped up and down, and perspired for an hour.

But,by the time I got my leotards on, the class was over.
------------------------------------

An elderly woman decided to prepare her will and told her preacher she had

two final requests.

First, she wanted to be cremated, and second, she wanted her ashes

scattered over Wal-Mart.

'Wal-Mart?' the preacher exclaimed.

'Why Wal-Mart?'

'Then I'll be sure my daughters visit me twice a week'
-----------------------------------

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Also, my memory's not as sharp as it used to be.
-------------------------------------

Know how to prevent sagging?

Just eat till the wrinkles fill out.
------------------------------------

It's scary when you start making the same noises as your coffee maker.
---------------------------------

These days about half the stuff In my shopping cart says,

'For fast relief.'
-----------------------------

THE SENILITY PRAYER:

Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the good

fortune to run into the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the difference.
---------------------------------
2 Italians On A Bus

A bus stops and 2 Italian men get on.

They sit down and engage in an animated conversation.

The lady sitting next to them ignores them at first, but her attention is

galvanized when she hears one of them say the following:

"Emma come first, Den I come, Den two asses come together, I come once-a-

more!

Two asses, they come together again, I come again and pee twice, Then I

come one lasta time."

The lady can't take this anymore.

"You foul- mouthed sex obsessed pig!"She retorted indignantly.

"In this country, we don't speak aloud in public places about our Sex lives!"

"Hey, coola down lady," said the man, "Whooza talkin' about sex?

I'm a justa tellin' my frienda how to spell Mississippi."

Not doing anything tonight. I think I have to work tomorrow. My boss is never clear on these things.

I've been down about PrincessSezMe. I know we all have. I did not know how bad it was.

May I ask that we not feel guilty for not knowing. Please, as kind souls that we are, we couldn't know either. I do think some of the problems were with the hospital. I know in my home town there are only a handful of the older GP's left, no one specializes, and the hospital literally refers every person out of state. They lost all the doctors and any funding by the '90's. Being from the area, I know that no one can afford to go out of state. Dad even came here to the VA hospital for heart surgery, not knowing it was not what it was in the '60's and it didn't turn out very well. Same with my sister at only 48, must stop speaking of them now. We couldn't know everything. Hang in there...

Hi, I read somewhere in these pages that Princess passed two days before the surgery on Oct. 28th. I know it was on websleuths that I read it. Be back shortly..:seeya:

Going to be right here, with my son, The Queen, and Milo (the cat) tonight.
I hardly ever went out for New Years Eve. Never knew what all the fuss was about- people drinking too much and making a fool of themselves- sloppy- and maybe driving. Very dangerous and scary.
Always liked to stay home- have some friends over or just alone with the loved ones.
And watching The Twilight Zone on the SF channel (it's a tradition ).

Gramma Nore I love you very much and I'm honored to know you. Please have a good New Year and stay with us forever. :loveyou:

Ricki and 21merc7- have a good and safe New Year :seeya:

Hi YesorNo,
thank you for your kind words. I too have grown attached to people here. I wish we could all meet someday but I know it cant be. I am sitting here with my puppy, wished him happy N.Y., he looked at me and laid down again! I wish everyone a year of peace and love. Those are two important things in life. I'm happy for the friends I have made on the board. We can hope for a final trial for miss priss this year. Amy and Johnny wished me happy New Year. They are watching it on "Cleveland Rocks" big blow out on Public Square.

I just miss my family so. :loveyou: God Bless all.:seeya:

I'm having trouble sleeping tonight. Thinking about Princess.

This is one of my favorite country songs, sung by one of my favorite country artists.

I am just now hearing the tragic news about our lovely Princess. What a gracious, sweet soul that will be greatly missed. My prayers go out to her family.

Okay, how was everyone's New Year's Eve?

I did what I always do. Wait until 8 p.m. to see if any cartoon specials are on, and there were not, then fell asleep. Woke up at 11:40 something, turned t.v. on. Saw a cooking show and was amazed that it never occurred to me to whack celery, like you do garlic, to make it flat for easier cutting. I learned something new! :D

Turned on the only 2 channels I had for the ball drop. Didn't like any of the music or whatever the hosts were doing. Fell asleep again. Woke up at 12:02. Missed the ball drop. Ah well, I haven't seen it in years anyway. Not a big deal, just thought I might see it as I woke up.

Anyone have special plans or meals for New Year's Day? I think when we were young there was a parade on t.v. and we worked on crafts we got for Christmas. Mom always made corned beef and cabbage, stewed tomatoes (super yuck!!), and black eyed peas, for the tradition/superstition that eating those would bring luck and money. She even kept a special silver dollar in the china cabinet (it is still there) to add to the pot of corned beef and cabbage to bring money. To this day I still think that is strange. Just so you know, it never worked either, hahaha!

So. Here we are in the new year- all fresh and new.
Hope it will be good for everyone.

Let's start this year on a cheerful note :groucho: and try to be good :angel2: so Lamby doesn't have to get the :whip: out.

Please, don't let us lose anyone else (we miss you princess :anguish:) :please:

So. Another language lesson to start the new year: :floorlaugh:

French this time: (first words- "On Non"- good words to use and I use it often :floorlaugh:)

Oh non! #lesson1 of learn French with Victor - Funny - YouTube

And, languages, in general (some bad words, FYI):

Languages - Eddie Izzard - YouTube

What else can we work on this year? :dunno:

Oh, yeah- missy's :jail: (pfttttttt) trial :pullhair:- let's see an end to her soon.

That is the exact reason why New Years does not turn me on. I rather have everyone here where I now they are safe.
I actually got turned off at the age or 18. Remember, that was the drinking age back in the day. I went to a party and had people falling over me, puking wherever. That's not pleasant at all.

We fell asleep before midnight. I don't care because I missed Miley Cyrus and I did not want to see her anyway. I don't care for what she turn into or how she is influencing the young ones.
Today, no plans, just relaxing. We are under a winter storm watch for Thursday night and Friday with a potential for blizzard conditions. I HATE snow.

Ricki that party when you were 18 sounds horrible!

I haven't been to any parties or bars in years. Don't like it, can't afford to waste the $$, and being alone at a party or bar is not my idea of fun. I just go to bed after talking with family.

I am "assuming" I am off work today. I hope I don't get in trouble. One of the boss' called last night and said I should be, but he is not the Big Boss that makes the rules. I just get confused every year as he changes his mind, and there is very little verbal communication as he is very busy and forgets. Guess if I get a call, I will know. Or the angry cold shoulder tomorrow.

Went out the door, a friend must have dropped by and not seen my lights on. Left an old Sears Christmas Catalog for me to look through, and us laugh and reminisce about, except this one is even cooler than the ones we got as children. It is dated 1902!!! How cool is that!

Yea, I did drink that night but, I also remember the feeling of a hangover and who wants that. Yuk
1902, I would love to see what they sold in the catalog in that year.
