Hey everyone!!! Insomnia has struck again, the second night that's week. 6 degrees outside. I will probably be grumpy today.

Being grumpy can be good according to this Australian psychologist:

Hi everyone! :wave:

Got my local paper this morning and see a few updates on the fire! There were 4 guys in the rehab house and our next door neighbor all got out safely. Except for Tammy, a chichuhua (sp?!), she suffered smoke inhalation, and the fireman really tried saving her; my Huz said he worked on the poor dog for a very long time.
Both houses are destroyed! Our next door neighbor has fire insurance, so he will be okay - and will start rebuilding. The other house (rehab) is owned by the County, so who knows "when" anything will be done with the house or property. The local homeless shelter is taking care of the 4 guys, and our neighbors are at a nearby local motel furnished by the Red Cross.

Niner, I am so glad you are okay and your house was not damaged. I feel so sorry for your neighbors and I hope they were able to retrieve photos and valuables. Your husband was smart to get the hose out as he could have sprayed your side of the house that was exposed to embers. I saw people doing that in California and they were successful in saving their homes by dousing their roofs and exteriors.

Did the soot or smoke smell permeate your house?

My daughter is the same way about horses.

Where I go for my walk each morning there are two sets of Clydesdales (two different owners). They are out every morning waiting for their breakfast. They are sooooo big but very beautiful.

Hi Zuri. Horses are beautiful animals. Their eyes!! My cousins husband was a Mounted on Cleveland police. They take very good care of them, are going to bring them back on patrol. Yes the guys get attached to them. :loveyou:

Rolling hills of snow, white roofs, frozen sidewalks, snowblowers going day and night, snowball fights, schools closed, people freezing their adz's off , swearing at the cold.
