:goodpost: and  good quote from Juan!!

re red bold - SEVEN years already??!! :ohwow:  :shame:

re blued bold - Stabby

re green bold - Totally agree!! :seeya:

Let's hope it's this... :trainwreck:

I too have a dull and aching pain, sometimes STRONG, that doesn't go away either. But it's in my groin area (left side; right is my new hip!!) - it was caused by my massage lady sticking her fingers "into" that area and that's been since March of 2013 and lately has/had a small lump where it hurts; I've had a Ultra sound, a CT Scan, and just had an MRI done last Monday; and now am scheduled for a PET Scan on Monday... why are they doing ALL these tests on me?? :waitasec: I guess they didn't find anything on the ultra sound - the girl said she was looking for blood clouts - none found; the CT Scan don't know the results, but I guess they couldn't tell with that test, so I had the MRI... guess nothing found on that either... so the need for a PET Scan - does anyone know the DIFFERENCE in all these tests, and what each one would be "looking for" ?? - TIA!! :gaah:

Oh, I noticed on the top of this page it says: Click here to see your arrest records now - no doubt
if you do click, you'll be inidated (sp?) with emails from lawyers!! :D

edited to add - I don't have ANY arrest records... :)

Niner, I am sorry about the pain in your groin area. Not sure why they are doing all those tests. But I am sure each one does something different. Best wishes on an outcome! And I am sure glad it isn't a blood clot.

There are always arguments over the constitutionality of victim impact statements. The safest route is to confine the statement to a discussion of exactly what the name suggests: the impact of the crime on the victim(s). Telling off the defendant might make the victims feel better, but it's not worth the appeal issue.

Yeah it's changed too over the years. In our case, we of course were only addressing the Judge who did the sentencing and we didn't speak in open court...I was interviewed by my Advocate and it was done in writing. Then, years later in our appeal, I did speak and I didn't address the murderer but I sure did confront his legal team AND the Judge. And that sure did feel good. And they deserved it for the terrible treatment they gave me and my family.

And, btw, hello Neighbor! :D

Niner, if the MRI, CT and US have all been negative for findings, that is a good thing right? Is your lump on your femoral artery or in the tissue to one side or the other? Do they think it is a lymph node?

Curious, my husband had had a kidney stone ten years ago (laid on the floor in the ER the pain was so bad) and passed at the hospital after two bags of saline and two shots of Demerol, and then in November last year it struck again, after the ER visits and them finding a stone the size of a pea, and told him to see a UI Dr, which he didn't do hoping it would pass. So after another visit to the ER in January, and then overnight stay in February, he saw the UR Dr. he had seen before and a "surgery" was scheduled because it was stuck in one of the tubes leading to hid bladder.. It was done in day surgery. took less than an hour, and was back home up and around no problems. They did place a stent, for the stone that they broke up to pass (he couldn't have the laser blaster thing, but the older way) and took it out about ten days later. He hasn't had anymore problems since. He was told to drink some lemon juice everyday, something about it makes something do something so stones don't form, and has been OK since. He has had two other MRI's and so far nothing has shown up. Dallas Ft. Worth is called the kidney stone capital of the south.

Never give up on the power of prayer and praying friends.

Thank you Pages. I always heard a kidney stone is awful. I feel so bad for him. My fear of muscle spasms outweighs fear of anything else. I had a laparoscopic removal of my gallbladder in 2007 as an outpatient and as soon as I got home, all my abdominal muscles went into spasms. I was driven to the ER screaming and they knocked me out with morphine. The spasms went away and I was fine. I think it's my own fault for not exercising all these years and keeping my muscles in shape. Now when someone even mentions surgery I run. I don't think my muscles can take it. My daughter just told me about the lemon juice thing. That's pretty neat. I love lemonade too. I pray this is nothing serious but I always heard a stone is awful for a man, like childbirth is for a woman. Both are awful.
So you are from the Dallas Ft Worth area? I was raised in Beaumont. My daughter lives north of Dallas, in Wylie. Texas is awesome. But Indiana is great too, at least where we live. :)

KCL, your impact statement was powerful. I thought it was a lovely gesture that you shared it with the Alexander family IIRC. They are incredibly difficult to write. With my brother's shooter, we did not have the opportunity to address the court as he pled out to LWOP.

In 1993, my mother and I wrote what would be considered a victim impact statement that was read on the floor of the US Senate by then Senator Biden. It was entered into the Congressional Record. Senator Biden had authored the Biden Crime Bill which in part, gave more rights to victims.

Hi KCL, thanks for your good thoughts. I am going to be positive and trust in the Lord. Looking next week for my care package. :) Glad to see you are here. Hope you will peek in during trial. And I hope the trial goes in a hurry cause that girl has some serious reality to face up to.

Hey, I am sorry about the way the defense and the judge and courts treated you and your family. That is a shame. And for some reason, they always get by with it in the name of justice. Glad to see what you said about Nurmi. When he became a part of trashing Travis, I was done.

Curious, please take care of yourself. There is no point in suffering silently. Please get the work up. Stent placement is quick and easy with little to no after effects. Knowing what is wrong will enable you to address this pain. I am concerned about you and hope you feel better soon.

I know Zuri. But I am skeerdy kat! lol....I will do it. But that sounds horrible. Thanks. Everyone here has been wonderful

Morning, Curious! We had such good news yesterday. The replacement play fell on its face. Word came so fast after the hearing on Wednesday. What a relief!

I know Tuba! Wasn't it wonderful? I mean, I got all mad and worked up for nothing. JSS must have put him straight right then. Oh we should really have live coverage. It should be good. Yes, relief was nice. :)

But think of how the courts would be freed up and so would our tax dollars if when we KNOW some 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, as you call them, is really guilty and they are just sentenced. I do NOT believe a person who slaughtered one of our friends, neighbors, family members, and admits it, should get any counsel at all. Except GO TO JAIL. This is who we are taking about when discussing JA. And no she shouldn't be allowed appeals. She is making a mockery out of our system. JMO.

It makes me so sad and frustrated that a woman like Arias who has been CONVICTED of slaughtering a man and has shown no remorse whatsoever keeps managing to escape the death penalty (with some even feeling she doesn't deserve such a harsh punishment) while young men who potentially have bright futures ahead but get into some small trouble (relatively speaking) end up being shot to death. Just contemplating on fate and such...

I'm wondering whether the killer plans to cite emotional frailty, although to me it is no mitigator. She has referred to it a couple of times in her complaints.

She might, but I don't understand what "frail" would have to do in either life/DP. They have medical care in prison and you can be sure that they won't let her die before her execution date.

What she said in the ABC interview, didn't sound like a "frail" person, IMO (wonder if JM can use the interviews in the retrial
biggrin.gif
):

"If you are not abusing me, attacking me or threatening to kill my life, there is no reason to fear."

(She blames the Defense for not calling her mother/father- forgot about that. Seems, nothing is ever a criminal's fault.) :sigh:

That's amazing Zuri...I'd forgotten that. I'm sure a lot of the Victim's Rights I was afforded came from that Bill. The one that allowed victims who would be testifying dropped right before our trials which was great because then we got to sit in the courtroom. Defense attorneys would place victim's families on the witness list having no intention of ever calling them, just to prohibit them from sitting in the courtroom. The Victim's Bill of Rights turned that around right before our trials.

I'd love to see yours sometime if you have it.

Her demeanor in this interview appears to me like someone who's being interviewed right after they've been nominated for an Academy Award wondering if they might get the Oscar. Unbelievable. Not too keen on this softball interviewer either.

I should know not to post. I am not a lawyer. Also thanks to everyone for their posts. It is impossible to thank everyone but I do. I will still be reading.

BBM :uthere: Awww- please don't say that and please post. :therethere: Not everyone here is as knowledgeable as AZlawyer, but we still post. This is a great place to learn what we don't know and post what we do. I know I learn something new everyday. Sometimes even with links, I can get it wrong. It may just be just a matter of interpretation or just wrong reading. Doesn't ever stop me from posting and there's no "embarrassment" because I got it wrong- at least I'm trying to figure things out and learn. And we're such a kind group- no ganging up allowed- them is :tos: here.

And it can also be fun :silly: or frustrating :gaah: or a great camaraderie :gathering: or (if you need some sympathy) :grouphug:

And I'm here most days, just in case you need a little :princes: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh:

Regarding the post about Kristina Randle's Blog, CMJA said she will relinquish her defense to Jennifer Wilmott if Nurmi was allowed to quit. JSS denied that request, thus Stabby is her own defense attorney now. I really think both JSS & JM want to get this trial finished. Sheriff Joe stated Stabby has been working the system for almost seven yrs, everyone else realizes that as well. Her retrial was delayed in March due to a case that was languishing over almost seven yrs too, the cop killer, and I am thinking CMJA's trial is taking too much court time off their schedule. Arizona has its hands full with border issues, state revenue needs to be used elsewhere. As far as Aiken, Stabby has had well over 13 months since her verdict to get her witness list together & hasn't presented it to the Court yet. Really? I don't think she took this seriously. Thought she could delay, now realizing she is playing with grown ups, & Stabby is shaking in her stripes. I bet September 8 is a firm date.
Thanks AZ lawyer for the explanation on what the jurors will be told when seated. I am thinking the process may go quickly after they are seated. Over by October 15.
Thanks KCL for correcting me on Ryan Owens. You can see the real Jodi in that interview. Pure evil.
I am home sick these past few days & have been watching parts of the trial. Watched JM's cross of Jodi & her interview with Flores when she introduces the ninjas as the killers. I believe she in her own way described Travis' killing in that interview & it made me very sad about his death & how he suffered. How vulnerable he was - nude, caught off guard, & how she continued to attack him as he was getting weaker & weaker. Imagine his fear. Heartbreaking. I can see why the Alexander family want the DP. While I have mixed feelings about the DP, if anyone deserves it, it is Jodi Arias.

BBM Please don't use any derogatorily names here for the murderer (it's in the rules of WS- we don't want Lamby :gomods: to come swooping in here with her :whip: and maybe close the thread :threadclosed: or have any undo extra work. We love Lamby- she's so fair :loveyou:).
