Catching up!

Giraffe: Quite possibly she's passing the mucous plug.........I have no idea if they have plugs or not! It prevents bacteria from going through the cervix, it sloughs out when close to birth. I am NOT a giraffe OB/GYN! :floorlaugh: And many mammals continue to eat RIGHT up to the actual delivery.

Horse update: Looking at the first week in September, around the 8th.

Erin Corwin: Sad news, but an arrest with possibly more. Hey, the desert always gives up it's secrets. Even down in a mine.

Bryan Hulsey: Trying to slow down the inevitable. Couldn't get into it today and shame on the MSM that wanted that video feed so bad. The entire trial had all the elements of a "must see".

CMJA::rollercoaster: Just stick her in Perryville already! She's sure milking the "Jodi Show".:gaah:

Computers: Defrag your entire computer, and get rid of your "Browsing History" or "History" found under "Tools" (It's in the your browser tools, ie, Chrome, IE, etc, usually or wrench icon or a drop down menu from some other icon). Don't use more than one Virus protection, they can cancel each other out. This includes MS Defender. I use Norton and totally disabled Defender.
Put "about:extensions" in your browser search bar, locate "Ad Blocker" and add it to your browser extensions. You can find out if you have something like that by clicking "Settings" in your browser "Tools". Ad Blocker can be used on many browsing platforms, I've used it on Chrome, Rockmelt, Safari, and Firefox.
In your "Internet Properties" in your "Control Panel", make sure under the "Privacy" Tab, you have the "Pop Up Blocker" checked. Then hit "Apply".

Still physically sick over the beautiful giraffe at Copenhagen's zoo. What possessed that vicious employee!

Did all the things Bernina suggested. I am now completely ad free and just messed around on the WS Forums page and seems I am popup free. Yay...thanks B!

Ok........did some mental inventory, and all the cloven hooved beasts I've had have mucous plugs, it looks like something opaque and stringy coming out of them. Goes on for about 24 hours. That covers goats and cattle.

Hey y'all! I have been over on the Ferguson, MO thread and missed the light hearted ness of this thread.

Bernina, no foal? I have a present for Zuri when he/she is born.

Over the weekend, I had a rabid encounter with an errant spray bottle of self tanner. I look like "Tan Mom" except with splotches. Why can't they make a self tanner that does not accentuate age spots, cellulite and at least give you a reasonably tan color?

I'm volunteering to be the G-dmother of the baby. Wonder if I can send a toy for Xmas or bring it there. Am 3 hours away from the zoo!

Daisy, my fun flower, if I make a large donation and the baby is a girl, can it be named after you? I think Daisy Mae would be an awesome name!

I've been there a lot the past two days. It is an exhausting thread.

Haven't tried a self-tanner product since the one that turned me orange-blotchiness 35 years ago :tantrum:

Yep... Below the video I watch is the following:
Make a gift of $10 or more to support the giraffes and suggest your favorite name for new baby (due later this summer)! Proceeds will support Friends of the Zoo and the giraffe exhibit. There is a button to make a donation

That would be a great name--- Jobi or Jobaria

I am going with Daisy May. Now that would be a great name!

Okay, I'm starting to feel a little weird staring at some poor giraffe's butt all day. I mean, I'm starting to creep myself out a little.

Kinda wondering if Autumn is getting close, she's not as active, pretty calm, her ears are back, and chews her cud for a bit, stops, and then starts up again. Not much action with her tail swishing around like it normally does......

I'm getting worried now and scared.

I had always told my children, never go South or they may put you in a chain gang if you do something wrong.

Never go to Africa, you will get Ebola.

Now what can I say- don't ever travel out of the USA (or even around the USA)? :hills:

New Mexico Teacher Tested for Ebola

"..And much closer to home, a woman in New Mexico is reportedly being tested for the deadly virus after she returned from Sierra Leone with symptoms consistent with Ebola (and basically everything else). From the Albuquerque Journal:

The woman, who worked overseas as a teacher, has a sore throat, headache, muscle aches and fever and is in stable condition. Those are similar to the initial symptoms of Ebola.
She had no known exposure to Ebola, and health officials said the tests are being done “out of an abundance of caution,” according to a Health Department news release. Preliminary test results are expected late this week."

In the meantime, while it's said to be "unlikely" that she has the disease, her visitors are being limited...."

I know, AZ. I was just being snarky because I get frustrated over all the rights she has. It flies in the face of "fair" IMO.

If JA could find witnesses that TA was abusive, can she bring them in to testify in this phase?

If JM could find witnesses that TA had never been abusive with them under any circumstances, could he bring them in to testify in this phase?

I know--just making sure no one misunderstood you. :)

To answer your questions:

1. Yes.

2. Yes, but only if JA brings in abuse witnesses (because JM gets to rebut her evidence, but can't just try to prove TA was a "nice guy," since that's irrelevant). Also, there would have to be some reason to think TA would have had a similar relationship with the witnesses as he had with JA. Lots of people abuse girlfriends but not sisters, for example.

So what is fair game in the mitigation phase as evidence against her? Does it have to be directly related to mitigating factors she is trying to claim?

Well, there won't be any evidence presented against her, except for recapping the circumstances of the offense and the reason for the cruelty finding, because the findings have already been made on guilt and aggravation. But JM can rebut any mitigating evidence she presents.
