Curious, we got word (and I read it elsewhere) that Aug. 22 was vacated before the hearing opened today. So we will get a ruling based on what occurred in that courtroom this morning, in addition to the written motion, of course.

Interesting that in her motion for delay, Jodi seems to know exactly what that Lt. Eastlund said, including his tone of voice. Was she there?

Excellent point, G&AMom. I had not even considered that.

Of course she was recounting things second-hand, but she wrote as if she was there.

This is one reason I wish the trial was televised. They are not going to do a good job ensuring the media gets updates about what happened in the courtroom and it is not going to be fast enough either.

It sounds like we have no clue what happened at this point.

So sad to hear about the baby Giraffe. Hope mom is doing ok.

I really can't imagine that Jodi won't want some sort of coverage. I mean this is basically her last hurrah in front of her global audience. Doesn't mean she will get it but I seriously doubt she won't flip and ask for it somehow, some way. Just like she flipped wanting the DP then oops, sorry, I have hair to donate to the world and book clubs to organize so I should actually live after all.

Yes, typical Jodi would love the limelight for her last trial. Some of us think she seriously believes she will get a do over of the guilty phase. Maybe if she smiles at the right man enough, I don't know, she believes she still has it, whatever it is. I am vested in the outcome of this trial.

I was on the Erin Corwin thread a while yesterday and it really brought me down. After Casey Anthony, I swore I would never get interested in another trial and along came JA. I don't think I can invest my emotions into Erin's case. I went to bed so depressed that anyone thinks if they have a problem or want an easy fix, they can just kill someone. This world is too violent.

When I finally woke up I checked the giraffe cam first thing, hoping to see the expanded family but all that was on the cam was a cement wall, knew that wasn't good so came here and read the sad news. I guess we're all in mourning with Autumn, Walter and Kiko, rest in peace sweet little baby.

Judge Sherry Stephens granted the motion to continue #JodiArias trial. Jury selection begins on 9/29/2014. Next hearing is 9/4/2014 at 8:30.
