I really think we should stop picking on Nurmi- he's doing a "great" job for missy:jail: with all his muddying-up of this crazy non-retrial.

Just think, by summer, we may be done with all of missy's:jail: trials/ tribulations and The Book of Jodi , but in the meantime, we have lots of time in between court sessions

to recuperate from Dr. G and the likes of "all" the "witnesses" that have been on the stand. :banghead:

Thanks for posting the motion Y/N. Is it terrible that I just skimmed it? All I hear is the same blah, blah, blah!! Interesting that JSS thought the media was intimidating. Yes, those fingers tweeting must be just causing JA such distress. OFPS- easy solution- don't read what they're saying!! Am I missing something here because this is the most asinine reason for wanting to testify secretly. And people showing up at jail to threaten her? Huh?? How the heck do they know that? I want to see proof that ever happened.

Oh- just some "drama" (as always, on the "other" thread -nothing to lose sleep over, tho").

I was further behind on my reading than I thought, went back and found it. Yes, a little bit of drama, lol.

BBM according to the Waller Test, she doesn't have to show proof/actual harm:

-from my post #557:

"C. The Waller Test

In 1984, the U.S. Supreme Court held that the broad
courtroom closure of a seven-day suppression hearing during a
criminal trial was unconstitutional. 37 Waller v. Georgia synthesized
prior holdings to provide a clear rule for all alleged First and Sixth
Amendment public trial violations. 38 Writing for the majority in
Waller v. Georgia, Justice Powell outlined the current four-part test. 39

He held that
the party seeking to close the hearing must [1] advance
an overriding interest that is likely to be prejudiced,
[2] the closure must be no broader than necessary to
protect that interest, [3] the trial court must consider
reasonable alternatives to closing the proceeding, and
[4] it must make findings adequate to support the
closure. 40

The Court held that a violation of the public trial guarantee does
not necessarily require a new trial. 41 “Rather, the remedy should be
appropriate to the violation.”

42 The Court reasoned that automatic
reversal would give defendants unfair windfalls that would not be in
the public interest, 43 but reiterated that the defendant does not
need to show actual harm. 44..."

About the "media" attention........remember when CMJA hit most of the media stations in one fell swoop, the night of her guilty verdict?

(GAH! Invalid File!)

(Pic courtesy of http://news.famousfix.com/tpx_22708635/jodi-arias/news)

WHO's afraid of the media?!?!?!?! And if you're gonna put yourself "out there", don't expect people to throw roses at you!

Wonder if any of those post verdict interviews will come into the mitigation?

Off to Youtube.......

THE TRUTH ABOUT THE 🤬🤬🤬🤬?

🤬🤬🤬🤬 SITES WERE MALICIOUS SITES

"...As stated and explained previously, all the 🤬🤬🤬🤬 sites named in Nurmi's motion are r/t to a virus pinging them. That list of 🤬🤬🤬🤬 sites are the only ones the public has access to and they turned out to be ones Travis could not have visited on a daily basis as suggested by the motion. Skybot would have blocked him. With so many more 🤬🤬🤬🤬 sites he could go to, Travis would not have continued to return to one which blocked him...."

-----------------

This article was riveting. Many article links if one takes the time to read provide such good explanations that even if one (such as myself) who is not computer savvy at least gets the general gist. I just feel from reading this that one get can into deep trouble downloading unknown links just to view a video for example (I only so far view Youtube but it makes me hesitant viewing any others).

I was willing to allow Travis to view regular 🤬🤬🤬🤬 if that was the case (understanding that this is what it might be), but I honestly just do not feel that he did. He had a friend (back prior to meeting Jodi) fix his computer to rid himself of 🤬🤬🤬🤬 stuff (and all that entailed) (from what I have gathered the friend had to reformat his computer) which might have gotten on his computer by a former roommate. Travis just did not appear to be the type to actively pursue any kind of 🤬🤬🤬🤬. He led a busy life and was always striving towards a moral life albeit the temptation of Jodi was too hard to resist.

The fact it was never an issue in the first trial is so suspect. Jodi had ample opportunity (19 days worth) of bringing this up. I cannot believe that if Travis was viewing regular 🤬🤬🤬🤬 that he would not have discussed it with Jodi considering how their sexual relationship was (according to her). And she adamantly denied on the stand the child photo was on the computer but was a photograph.

Thank you for providing this excellent article. It appears that Travis was trying to rid himself of anything related to 🤬🤬🤬🤬 by the fact of what he had on his computer to prevent 🤬🤬🤬🤬 some of which was causing the 🤬🤬🤬🤬 sites to appear. (all just my own opinions)

I just noticed the title of the retrial thread: "Shortest Court Date, EVER"

 :giggle:

I rather like this pic of the liar:

I am re-reading this, from a different perspective this time as I read this during the trial last year. We could all be this lucky to be remembered with such fondness,

This is a super website. Thanks for the link to remind us all of the true victim, Travis Alexander, and how his friends viewed him.

Checking my email inbox and found this:

(she doesn't like JSS)

Note: pics of Travis, dead, in the shower and neck slashed, couple of off language, too.

OUTRAGE IN ARIZONA!!!!: Judge Sherry Stephens allows a defense team to torture victims and bleed taxpayers in a courtroom run amok!

"...What the heck is the matter with Judge Sherry Stephens and why does she seem so furiously Hell-bent on helping the defense team in the Jodi Arias trial, bleed Arizona taxpayers dry and undermine the system?..."

Jumping off your post - it has the article.

:truce:

I know feelings many have for the judge are, let's say less than favorable.
But this article (IMO) is just a trash rehash of the judges reputation with a tidbit of habit that has never been discussed here.
I personally do not care for this article - not shooting the messenger (YESorNO:seeya:) thanks for posting.

But to give the devil some doubt - we have not heard half of this retrial sentencing phase.
We probably only heard about one fourth, due to all the secrecy - maybe, just MAYBE, JSS has some valid points???
Maybe hands are tied and due process has to play out.
Our system does favor the defendant and in this case it happens to be Jodi.
But what IF, the defendant happens to be an innocent person (not this case, another example) - we would be loving how our system operates.

The trouble with our system is that too many defendants happen to be guilty, and they get the benefits that an innocent person should receive.

My rant is over - it's just my opinion, yeah, it's taking an extra long time, and I do think JSS could help move it along,
but I think the article is a bit unfair with their accusations.

Are Judges elected or appointed in Arizona?
I just asked that question of Arizona Lawyer on the resentencing thread today. She said judges are appointed after a thorough review but to stay in office past their term, they must be reelected. And yes, JSS runs for reelection in 2016.

Wasn't there a 4 PM phone call today between media attorneys, defense and supreme court regarding Wilmotts request for review? Anyone hear anything?

It took place and the results are
State v #JodiArias: Trial will resume on Thursday at 10am.
1/6/15, 3:32 PM

Wasn't the unsealing/remain sealing of the secret testimony argument to be held on Thursday at 9/9:30????

So nothing tomorrow, but 2 different items on Thursday?
Then a three day break until next week?

Did the SC rule?
