I just posted to Mindmatters that I agreed with her totally and got a message that the moderator had to approve it before it could be posted.

This may be very outdated or something that was going on in SC years ago but in the mid '80s my dad tried to talk me in to becoming a court reporter. At the time he said there was good money to be made because the court reported was allowed to charge their own fee for copies requested other than the official record produced. Makes me wonder if the reporter gets the fee.

Those reporters who do the depositions charge a fee to the law firms. They usually work for a company that does them so they are not the court reporters. jmo
