Hello Everyone. I've got a lot of catching up to do on our thread. Just been super busy lately and I also got enthralled with the Savopulos family murder case.

When the Savopulos family got killed, it was so shocking and sad. It was also incredible how things were moving so quickly. It was just amazing how good LE did and to be able to catch the POI so quickly. It was so fascinating to follow it closely here on WS as things were happening. WS was the place to be as people did so good to keep everyone informed of what was going on.

I think it was the first case that I followed right from the beginning like that where things went from the murder(s) itself right over to an arrest within a very short time frame. Congrats to LE for doing such a wonderful job. It was amazing how they got the DNA from the pizza crust and then tracking down the suspect by cell phone pings was just amazing. I didnt even know LE could ping a phone while it was on and they were able to find the perp(s) by doing live pinging of the phone and live tracking of his location. It was some amazing stuff going on and I got caught up following all that. So glad they made an arrest.

Anyway, just wanted to be sure and stop in to say hello and catch up. Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day Weekend.

Do y'all want to live 'til you're 116 years old?

Jeralean Talley, Woman Thought To Be Oldest In The World, Turns 116

"INKSTER, Mich. (AP) — A Detroit-area woman turned 116 Saturday, but she offers no secret for a long life....
She was born in Montrose, Georgia, in 1899 and moved to Michigan in the 1930s. Talley's husband died in 1988 at age 95.
"Her No. 1 rule is to treat people how you want to be treated," said godson Tyler Kinloch, 21, who fishes with her. "I definitely carry that with me every single day."..."

:hilarious:

Well, I have never had the gray box (yet), but when I came here just now EVERYTHING IS CENTERED!!!! Craziness abounds....

ETA: I just posted this and noticed that it is the only one that is not centered on the page. Will it stay?

Spell ~
Last night while I was trying to post everything was centered. Between that, the gray box, not being able to reply with quote and then when I WAS finally able, it kept saying my post was to short. :gaah:
I just gave up and re-watched 2 old movies I had taped on my DVR.

Rainman and Pay it forward :heartbeat:

You always make perfect sense to me, cj! And the graphic is lovely. You are so artistic!

YESorNO, always wonderful when you return to the friendly confines of the Sidebar!

Sorry this isn't a better pic, but here's a shot of my "pets." (My camera doesn't have much of a zoom and I couldn't get any closer lest the birds run away). They are black-bellied whistling ducks and they make adorable, squeaky-toy noises. They come around twice a day looking for a handout. I call them Frick and Frack McQuack. :)

BBM What great names for your pet ducks :floorlaugh: (haven't heard those names in years)

(I just love ducks :) )

I just had to look up who the "real" Frick and Frack were:

Frick and Frack

"Frick and Frack were two Swiss skaters who came to the U.S. in 1937 and joined the original Ice Follies show as comedy ice skaters. "Frick" was Werner Groebli (April 21, 1915 – April 14, 2008), born in Basel. "Frack" was Hansruedi (Hans Rudolf) Mauch, (May 2, 1919 – June 4, 1979), also born in Basel....

P.S. Big Thanks to whoever suggested downloading 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. It's been a godsend in increasing speed, especially on WS. Now I'm not wasting time waiting for ads to load that I'd never bother with anyhow!

I've been using 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 for about 6-7 years, started with it on Facebook when I was playing a game where our "group" was using auto repeat codes and proxy debuggers to get a leg up over the other groups. The less "codes" generated by ads on the page made for faster speeds and less crashes. I'm talking attacking another individual's game character 5000 times in 10 minutes with just 3 clicks of the mouse, set it and forget it. And my modem only runs at 1.5 mbps on a good day, such is the life in the boonies!

yes/no, you bring us so many laughs!!! thank you!!

Good Morning all.

An adult fairy tale … :)

Once upon a time there lived a King.
The King had a beautiful daughter, The PRINCESS.

8czkax8qi.jpg

Link: https://aqu52.files.wordpress.com/2015/05/8czkax8qi.jpg?w=219&h=332

But there was a problem. Everything the princess touched would melt.

No matter what;
Metal,
Wood,
Stone,
Anything she touched would melt.

Because of this, men were afraid of her. Nobody would dare marry her.

The King despaired. What could he do to help his daughter?

He consulted his wizards and magicians. One wizard told the King, ‘If your daughter touches one thing that does not melt in her hands, she will be cured.’

The King was overjoyed and came up with a plan.

The next day, he held a competition. Any man that could bring his daughter an object that would not melt would marry her and inherit the King’s wealth.

THREE YOUNG PRINCES TOOK UP THE CHALLENGE.

The first brought a sword of the finest steel.

But alas, when the Princess touched it, it melted.

The prince went away sadly .

The second prince brought diamonds.

Link: https://aqu52.files.wordpress.com/2015/05/dc48rnkni.png?w=225&h=188

He thought diamonds are the hardest substance in the world and would not melt.

But alas, once the Princess touched them, they melted.

He too was sent away disappointed.

The third prince approached. He told the Princess, ‘Put your hand in my pocket and feel what is in there.’

naveen-disney-frog-princess.jpg

The Princess did as she was told, though she turned red.

She felt something hard. She held it in her hand.

And it did not melt!!!

The King was overjoyed. Everybody in the kingdom was overjoyed.

And the third Prince married the Princess and they both lived happily ever after.

Question: What was in the Prince’s pants??????

M&M’s of course

They melt in your mouth, not in your hand.

What were you thinking?

I WORRY ABOUT YOU GUYS SOMETIMES!!!

I've been around........you've got to check the "thanks" line under the posts, lol!
Weather was just kind of wacky so I'd be in and out between the rain, hail, and wind.
Yesterday, got 1/3 of the garden rototilled, talk about wrestling with a gorilla! It's probably had about 2 tons of straw dumped in it over the last 3 years and some of it hasn't composted too well.
Sunday I rototilled the 2 chicken pens, probably will have to do it again because it rained afterwards, aurgh!
Waiting for the peafowl to start laying, get the old incubator running again.

And been spending a lot of time removing dried mud of the horses, they love a good roll after the rain but they literally have dirt clods hanging all over them!

Waiting for Zuri to totally shed out before I post a pic of her...........right now, she just looks pretty sorry, just the old ugly duckling syndrome!

Good Morning WS Friends!
:loveyou:
Watching James Holmes trial today and recovering from horrible weekend dealing with brand new "smart tv", cable service and customer service. Technology makes me crazy!

Hope everyone is healthy and happy!.

Hey everyone!
hi-there-smiley.gif

I am having a new weird thingie. When I hit reply, the box is all grey inside and I cannot post. It happens most often in a very contentious thread that I am riled up in, so maybe it is a new high tech way to black us from getting ourselves TOSed? LOL

 katydid23! What I've found out is if you have a gray box - you won't be able to quote anyone, but you can still post if you hit the "Reply to Thread" at the top of the thread or the one on the bottom... just a suggestion! Fortunately, NO gray box today!! :happydance:

 too funny YESorNO!!

Well today I have to dust... cough, cough... :gaah: the other day I vacuumed all the spider webs... and after dusting, I'll have to vacuum the whole house.

I HATE housework!! :gaah:

Meanwhile... I'm watching the French Open

and my favorite game show coming on at 10am - "The Price is Right"!! I've won SO many trips and cars - getting the Price Right!

you all are getting in Texas would come over here! We NEED it!

okay - off to the Holmes trial - see what's going on over there...

oh - one more thing! :)

John Wayne aka Marion Robert Morrison would have been 108 years old today!
(He was a client at my Dad's veterinarian clinic, or his dog was!) :D

Yep, I'm on the SS and theater trial threads also. Understand what you guys mean about the Savopulos thread. http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?281030-DC-Savvas-Savopulos-family-amp-Veralicia-Figueroa-murdered-Daron-Wint-Arrested-5/page7 Hope I wasn't the one who came across rude  Yesterday, things were getting snitty and against TOS. So when I couldn't log in for 2 hours, I was thinking they were cleaning up the thread. lo and behold.... during all that screen cap chit I was doing I put my lappy in airplane mode by mistake. Duh duh took me two hours to figure that out :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: I don't think there is an active moderator on that forum perhaps? :giggle:

Well, :escape: to the Holmes trial today while I do housework. I was sitting on my backporch yesterday and hear blam..... blam... crack/break.... blam! Durn pantry wire shelving came down... So up at 7 this am, off to Lowes to get replacement parts for bent supports - and will listen to trial while I take everything out of the pantry, take all the shelving down.... patch, paint... and put back up.

These are the days that I like live streaming so I can just listen to in the background on my lappy (which is no longer in airplane mode lol) while I work.

:escape: to Holmes thread

:seeya: :blowkiss:

We have wire shelving like that in the little laundry room. One day our doofus big kitty jumped up on the shelf, knocked something over, which fell onto the lower shelf and brought the whole thing down with a loud crash. Kitty raced upstairs under the bed, and a year later, he still wont go anywhere near the laundry room. Which is nice because he used to like to sleep on the freshly folded warm stuff from the dryer. :cat:

So many great posts since I was last here yesterday. I can't begin to reply to them with quotes, or I would take up two pages.

GigiG, we do love our little corner here. I do not recall one iota of rudeness here, ever. Well, Y/N once threatened to make me write a long paper .... but she forgave me. (Chocolates for you, Y/N :giggle: )

LinasK, you have been through so much. Glad you are getting some needed improvements. Wish we could get our old electrical updated. We still have two prong plugs in half the house. Little by little, we will get there.

The Plake is awesome!

Happy Tuesday, everyone.

The outlets I made DH replace before DD was born, and since the house was a foreclosure, one or two outlets had been kicked in and broken. Didn't want her sticking her little fingers into one. A friend's daughter stuck a barrette/bobby pin into one and got a bad burn.

I did that when I was a kid! More than once!:blushing:

Thanks for the background on Frick and Frack, YESorNO...I had forgotten where the names actually came from!

For you (and fellow duck lovers) I found this on YouTube. It starts out so sweet and then ... DRAMA! But it works out OK in the end:
