Sounds like the fractured rib cartilage may have popped her lung lobe, and she was bleeding from that maybe? They can suction secretions while intubating and also give drugs that facilitate intubation. Now I wonder if she had so much sub mucosal swelling, they couldn't visualize her vocal cords to intubate.

Wow. Just wow. WTH did new daddy do? Does Lily have a chest tube? How is her breathing now? They may be sedating her so she doesn't pull out her ET tube if she has one, and also she may have cracked ribs so badly they flail. OMG.

So glad she has you and your sister as her advocates. God Bless you all.

Maybe that was why the ER at Baylor couldn't get a tube down her? because of swelling? not chocking on blood as new daddy says?

We haven't heard about a chest tube.

So the sequence of events might of been beating or hitting her, cracking her ribs and the suction thing was to clear that blood? and it made the tears?

Zuri, is Lily losing ground? or is this a bump in the road?

I feel terrible. I had very short labors. Anna was under two hours, and my son was exactly four hours start to finish and he was almost nine pounds and I was up and walking two hours later. . My sister had three nine pounders and short labors under four hours, and her last daughter was a little six pounds and took over twelve hours.

Our mother had us (all six pounders) in very short labors. When my sister had first her son they were having trouble stopping major blood loss, the next step was going to be a hysterectomy, and when Loli had her son he was not face down and it took several more hours before he was delivered,. And his head looked like Marge Simpson's. A cone head. Loli also had trouble after and they were having a hard time stopping her bleeding. Her OB came out and told my sister and that the next step to save her was a hysterectomy too. Sixteen pregnant - sick as a dog throwing up , blood pressure soaring I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Little mama would be in court as the main witness when her baby daddy was on trial for killing his mother two months later. He made her go with him to "find" his mother. She said he "called" his mother and said someone took the phone from her and hung up. He needed to go check on her, someone may of hurt her. The woman had been dead over twenty four hours by then.

When they drove up at her house LE was already there and put her in a patrol car, but handcuffed her psycho baby daddy and took to him jail. She kept trying to explain the items they were bringing out of the house and putting in an evidence van to us. One she couldn't figure out, but at trial it turned out to be a door frame with blood splatter all over it. The woman had been dead over twenty four hours by then. We wondered if he had plans to kill little pregnant mama when they got there. Her son is very much like his father even though he doesn't know anything about him. The way he talks, his mannerism, his BS sounds just like him. My sister and I laugh (he always ask why) when he's making anything with cheese and adds more cheese. His father hated cheese.

IIRC our princess had nine pounders too.

LOL horrors of childbirth. Big babies and small ones. And I was telling about Loli's and my sister both having the same thing happen after giving birth. Along with how her son is. Nurture or nature.

The one thing we thought about was if new daddy ever hit little mama and if she would hide it from us, but then all of our girls would kick the crap out of a guy who hit them. They are outspoken and won't back down.
Our main concern Monday night all were all her uncles, her brother and her male cousin ( there are five girls to nine boys cousins and second cousins) and their male friends and all that testosterone hunting new daddy down and taking care of him.

I wonder if he was/is and if it was a learned behavior from his mother?

I thought I was understanding what was going on, but with this new post I am lost once again...

Thank you GigiG, I thought it was just me! I swear I read it 3 times, then took my dog outside to do her business. I came back in and read it a 4th time and I am still lost. The only thing I can think of is there is another little mama? Or maybe she was talking about back when Loli was 16 and pregnant?

I went back to bed this am...it's so damp and dreary. Just got back up :) We have trees down everywhere around this area because the ground is so wet, they just fell over. Flooding. It's a wet mess!

I went the Dr. last week get my sodium levels checked. About 3 months ago, my sodium levels were a little high. Doc told me drink tons water and put me on low sodium diet. Now my sodium levels are low! Eat more salt and cut back on the water...can't win for losing! See her again in one month be rechecked.

Dmacky, I am honored you shared my posts. I have written 3 posts describing what life would have been like for your DD and deleted them all. I am shocked at how much resentment I still hold towards my MIL, who died last October. I need more therapy, obviously. I hate the thought of your DD having to put up with such a meddling, officious, critical, passive aggressive MIL. It just beats you down after a while.

Your DD was obviously too much competition for Dick's mom, and I hate that he could not be man enough to set boundaries. However, he grew up with this kind of mother and probably found it easier to do what she wanted rather than fight her on it. It would be hell to pay. I get that. It would be no life for your DD and hard to avoid, as his parents seem to live close by.

God Bless her and please tell her the pain will diminish in time and 20/20 clarity will come into view. Especially when she meets a man with healthy boundaries, holds her newborn in her arms, and is truly loved and appreciated by his family for her just being herself. Xo

Zuri~ My daughter is really paying attention to your posts. I read this to her this morning and she said DICK even told her himself what I have bolded. Thank you for sharing that painful time of your life with her!

I actually have shared what everybody on this forum has said, and she is coming around I think to the reality that she actually did dodge a bullet...but she's still a mess emotionally. I think she knows in her head it would have never worked out, but her heart just isn't there yet. It breaks my heart watching her go through this. As mom's, we want to take their pain away. If only...

My sincere thanks to everyone who responded :loveyou:

Gosh, so much heartaches with us here. MIL called to say FIL (in hospice/nursing home) is going downhill fast, confused, begging to come home, not always aware someone is there). We will see him on Sunday, and get to Mom's to do a little yard work. Barely get through one crisis and here comes another.

Dmacky, I was able to get removed from the house deed when I divorced (Michigan, and it had a mortgage) by using a Quit Claim Deed. I think I even found the form online. If you are unsure, you can probably get a free consult with a lawyer to ask about it. Bernina made some great suggestions if you can't get out of the festivities ... Dodged a Bullet party, indeed. I liked that idea. On the other hand, if she can refinance, she may get a cheaper interest rate if the rates are still down. Look around ... it may not have to be with the same lender, either. Some banks here don't even charge a refinance fee if they are having specials.

Pages .... I just want to wrap my arms around all of you and tell you it will be all right. If only it were that easy. Just too much for a little baby to have to go through. Your Loli-pop are lifesavers in more ways than one. God grant them the strength and ability to take on this responsibility, and bless them for their kind hearts.

Oh no Spell :frown: I'm so sorry to hear about your FIL. I'm glad you and hubby get to see him on Sunday, even if he doesn't know you are there. How sweet of you guys to do MIL's yard work :heartbeat: I know you have been through a lot yourself with the recent loss of your mom. I wish you peace my/our dear friend.

Morning all!

Dmacky - glad to hear your daughter is "sort of" coming around, but it will take a bit for her to feel right again! She was/is in love with this guy, and all of sudden he does what he did!! to you and her!

I was tossing and turning last night - because of my little bro's girlfriend is now driving a wedge between me and my sister... I told you all, I wrote GF a letter and asked for certain items, and mentioned that my bro was going to pay back my other brother for the money she borrowed from my mother and him, and wanted his camera instead. Now she is saying that I am asking her for the money back ($5000). No where in this letter did I say that; now she wants us to contribute to the cremation cost ($500). BUT!! She will be getting $255 from his Social Security Death Benefits PLUS his first and only Soc. Security retirement money; which I would guess would be over $1000. She can use some of that ($245) for the rest of the cremation. I'm giving up on his GF. She just started a fight of words with my sister and I and just can't take it. I'm done with GF!!! :gaah:

On to better things...

Okay - I'm doing a bit better getting all that out! :D

Off to catch up on my other cases! :pcguru:

Later! :seeya:

I wish it was damp and dreary in AZ...sigh

The heat here is really getting bad. I know of the one fire down by Kearny, and am really surprised nothing else has popped up. In the last 3 days, the area up here has turned into a tinder box. We got up to 102 yesterday, which is really strange. Have about 2 weeks before the usual monsoon rain kicks in.
The sporadic non-seasonal rain we had the first 2 weeks of June cause a lot of vegetation growth which is all dead now.
This is the first time I've really been concerned about fire in this area since I've lived here. The range cattle were put on other State Land parcels this spring so there's not the semi firebreak of low or non-vegetation that checkerboards this area. The fire district also had cutbacks on their manpower.
You can't really tell that I brushed hog this place 2 months ago........

Back again - I was reading at the discussion thread about the ring that #whatever :jail: stole from Travis - that it was never found ??

Zuri - I believe you are friends of the Alexander's or you have a friend who is theirs - have they ever found the ring? Just curious!! :D

and Bernina - considering how "active" you are around your ranch, I would think you have a fire break around your place - no? Now, there's another activity for you to do if not! LOL!

Anyone "seen" YESorNO lately?? Having seen her... :( Are there rains coming her way? Maybe disconnected from the internet.... :pcguru:

Okay - off to continue reading... :online:

:gaah: a thousand times again - I tried to Edit my above post to make it read:

I haven't seen her YESorNO :( but fricking gray/grey box kept coming up - so had to post this...

Why is it only this thread that is giving me problems??!! :gaah: again!! LOL!

okay... I'm okay... :D

:gaah:

I just lost my LONG post to Bernina
It was a reply to her descriptions of the deliveries of her children. Bernina you are so funny! In one sentence "I'm like oh no, that's awful," and the next sentence I'm laughing. You really know how to hold my attention  for instance, while the dr. was in the waiting room telling your family members that one or both of you might not make it out of surgery, then straight to "I'm going home".. I can just see you now, getting off that table and prancing to the door :giggle:

I can totally understand your son being able to that angle in your tail bone when you pushed him out
 6 years later. Wow, talk about a long labor

Dear husband just came in with a sweat band. It was hard to stop laughing. I asked him if was getting physical.

Pages, so glad you can share a laugh!

In answer to your question, IMO, without reading Lily's chart, I am hopeful she will fully recover from these injuries. A bump in the road? I don't know, but it sure has been a tough beginning. I am praying that little mama will be careful from this point forward about who she lets in their lives. Xo

I meant as in this new complication of the blood in her lung as the bump in the road. It might take a little longer for another thing to heal. Or is this a slow decline and it's going to get worse. I don't know if that was present Monday when Loli Pop saw her and was told her condition at that time. So, if it was then would it take this long to resolve? Or could if of been seeping ? and it grew larger? until it was found on Thursday?

Dmacky, I would have put it the same way as Zuri. I really hope you can comfort her a bit and encourage her later on to realize the big luck that this bad luck is hiding in these first very sad days. (is this understandable???)
And: lots of big hugs to your daughter from me, too!!!!

To have to inform 200 people that there won't be a wedding sounds really weird. But I imagine that your daughter will inform only the people she invited (her family & friends) by indicating the brutal fact in two sentences.
No doubt, there will be a wave of empathy and compassion that will give her the strength she will need.
But she surely will need some time to recover from such a devastating experience. It's quite similar to a beloved person passing away, istn't it?

Thank you sweet Susza,
I'm so sorry, I somehow missed your post.
The only reason there were so many people invited in the first place was because of Dick's mommy. We have 23 family members, including my daughter's 🤬🤬🤬's dad's side ~ who by the way paid absolutely NOTHING on this wedding. < That's another story, another day  I don't know how many more people my daughter actually invited, (friends and colleagues) etc...but it was in NO WAY even 3/4's of 200.
I wanted to keep it down to 100 or less, but Dick's mom wasn't having it. Of course she's not the one forking out 40 bucks a plate either. I told her I am a single mother and I live on my social security disability (she already knew this) but she kept insisting that SURELY my daughters father would be helping... NNNNNNOOOO he won't and he didn't. He is addicted to horse racing and never has a penny. Also an alcoholic. He used to be a Pharmacist, although he never went to school for it  If you get my drift

With Dicks mom (DM), it's all about appearances. She is the only one in her family that didn't go to college. The rest are very successful in their careers and have money. Lord forbid that any of her nieces are going to out do her on weddings! She makes me sick.

And you are so right Susza, it is almost like grieving a death for my daughter.
