Hello Everyone.

Hope everyone is doing well.

I've been caught up in a few other threads like the NY Prison Escape. That thread has been hilarious in a lot of ways even though it has also been scary.

Enjoy the great weather lately. Finally all the rain stopped. Have a great Sunday evening and July 4th weekend.

2015 - Chris Squire, the bassist and co-founder of English prog-rock band Yes, has died. The 67-year-old had been undergoing treament for acute erythroid leukemia, having announced that he was taking a hiatus from the band in May.

"Roundabout" is one of my favorite songs from the 70's.

I am channeling my inner YoNo as she has given me cleaning tips. Since I am jacked up on steroids, I have decided to clean and I am horrified at the dirt and mess. It is overwhelming. My German Shepherds shed so much, one would think I had 12 dogs in here. The hair blows like tumbleweeds and drives me nuts. I have an excellent Miele vacuum cleaner, however the bags are very expensive. I think I am going to get a Dyson or some sort of vacuum designed for pet hair. Does anyone have one that they like?

Hope everyone has had a good day! It finally stopped raining here and there is a lovely breeze.

That would be nice, but he has Aspergers and it's very hard for him to stay on task, and complete things. Almost anything. He's been really focused on becoming a blacksmith since he found out his great great great grandfather was one. But he doesn't want to shoe any horses or make pretty geegaws to sell at county fairs and such. Nope, he wants to melt down his own iron (he's been collecting old railroad spikes and anything else he can, and has dug a hole in ground in the orchard, and started melting them down) and make swords and knives.

A car/truck to work on isn't an option for him at the first. DH has everything to tear down and put a engine back together. Cherry picker, engines stand, pneumatic tools, presses, two Craftsman"s toolboxes and a roll around. That is just in a two garage. He has the loft and well house full of crap. Old bumpers from his 70 El Camino, fenders from his 1950 Chevy truck, an engine or two, I think you get my drift, it sounds like you have a few of those things laying around because of your BF.

LOL!
NOT because of my BF. Single mom, no child support, who can go to the mechanic? I have tools from before my first marriage 36 years ago.

I hope your grandson finds blacksmithing rewarding, no matter what he does with it!

Dyson Pet (it's the purple one)..............it REALLY sucks!!! :floorlaugh: In a GOOD way!
The first one I got was 12 years ago, it didn't have the rolling ball thingy. Canister you just dump, no bags, washable Hepa filter, it stopped doing a fantastic sucking job less than a year ago, and instead of taking it apart, I just bought a new one with the ball. The canister on that is a little bit smaller. But same great quality, washable Hepa, extra tools on board, it's "da bomb"! You can also buy new Hepa filters for it. Take the canister outside and just squirt it out with the water hose when the dander makes the sides kinda dusty,
I tore apart the first one, cleaned it REALLY good, and use it during shedding season to do a once over, then hit the rugs and floor with the new one. It's working as good as when I bought it.
That's the nice part, it automatically moves from tile, wood, rug, and carpet, no messing around with settings. It's NOT heavy either.
And it doesn't die a year after you buy it like so many other vacuum cleaners I've bought in the past. Pet fur gets in the motors and fry them out.

Dyson Pet (wow, that's a huge picture!):

I think the Shark is much better than the Dyson vacuum, IMO, and it's cheaper, too.
-----------------------------------------------

Shark Rotator NV752 Powered Lift-Away TruePet Vacuum

Costs about $350- much cheaper than a Dyson and better because the power head/brush roll detaches from the canister, but also re-attaches to the wand for vacuuming under-furniture and it could operate as a canister if you want, too.

You can find it here and use their 20% off coupon- it saves you $70. :)

I'm just dying to get this newer model, but my model still works great and it would be a sin to ditch it just to get the new model. :(
Just love how the Shark picks up everything.
This is the one I have: (different/older model- about 2 yrs old)

It's different than the newest model as the body doesn't come off to be re-attached to the
brush roller wand, so you can't get under furniture.

Good luck with whatever vacuum you chose. :loveyou:

Just my :twocents:

:)

"Unraveling The Lies of Jodi Arias" will be on the ID channel tonight at 8pm Eastern time. It says it's "new" which I assume means not a re-run. Guess I'll DVR it. Think we'll learn anything we don't already know? :groucho: It's doubtful, lol. Happy Sunday all

Just turned it on.

Happy Sunday morning all!

Not much happenin' around here! Another HOT :hot: day!! :gaah: staying in... wish we could get some rain...

Just made arrangements to meet up with my best friend of 54 years... we have our 50th High School Class reunion coming up July 24-25th. There's a "gathering" Friday night, so I plan on staying overnight at a motel in W. Sacramento, and she'll pick me up early and we'll tour the old high school and go by old houses we lived in. I met her in 9th grade when my family moved from Novato to Davis. And than Saturday night, which my friend can't attend, will be a big dinner/dance. And no the Huz is not going - he said he already went with me to one of them (I think the 40th) and doesn't need to go again!

Anyway - better get myself going here!

Later! :seeya:

BBM Wish I could send you some of the rain we have been having for days.

All I have is a broom and a mop. All hardwood floors, and throw rugs. My MIL said that her dr. back in Italy said if you sweep and mopped your floors everyday you wouldn't gain weight. I wasn't one to do it everyday, so I didn't know if she was saying I was lazy or fat. She never weighted over 99 lbs. I was thinking of her this evening. My grandson decided he wanted to do some salmon fillets (which he calls fi lets) on the grill, and he used all my lemons on his fish!

Anyway, Adilia (mil and her mother), and Cesira would argue over who cleaned the sink after cutting up chickens. Each wanting to do it so the Ajax would "clean" their hands from the smell. I did use the ends of lemons to clean mine, but found a Dial Citrus Lemon that I keep by the sink.

Zuri, I hear you about the dog fur. We could make a dog a week from all we sweep up.

Why do I only have about 15 posts to a page now?????
(Use to have 25) :scared:

So far same stuff/lies on the ID program.
(can't stand looking at the murderers face again) :gaah:

:gaah::gaah: Linda Boden (sp) from that Florida trial. :gaah: She shouldn't be speaking at all, IMO. I can't stand her. :stormingmad:

We just watched the first hour or so of the Glen Campbell special on CNN. I cried through most of it. Will finish it tomorrow. I fell in love with him when I was 13 years old when I heard his song "By The Time I Get To Phoenix". That dear sweet man.

I watched the Glen Campbell special, also. I expected it to be a repeat of another I had seen and was surprised that it was a new show. I thought it was a very good presentation and give this family my admiration for handling Alzheimer's so gently. They all have my respect. Amazing to me how Glen has been able to still do his shows and sing so well.... even with occasional bumps (like repeating a song during a show).

Well worth watching.
