So you have an old dresser lying around collecting dust. Whether it was a family heirloom or a leftover piece of furniture from your previous house, you might be tempted to just throw it on the scrap heap. Don’t!

Just pop the drawers out and follow any of these awesome ideas!

1. Old dresser drawers make great wall-mounted planters.

2. You can also turn the entire dresser into a little garden!

3. Picture boxes are always an option.

4. You can transform a large drawer into a great ottoman.

5. Drawers can also make great containers for your odds and ends.

6. What about this adorable makeshift dollhouse?

7. The front panels make great hook boards for your bathroom or foyer.

8. You can make them into compartments for your jewelry.

9. Or a gorgeous bulletin board!

10. Too many books? Problem solved.

11. Make an adorable bed for your dog or cat.

12. Flower pots are always a great idea.

13. Add a few wheels and BAM – the perfect end table.

14. A few small drawers can add a rustic flair to just about anything.

15. Put a bunch together to make an amazing headboard.

16. Or use them for some creative storage spaces.

What a creative (not to mention inexpensive!) way to spruce up your home. Oh, the joys of upcycling!

The list has the pics at this link:

DID YOU KNOW

Quick Tips in Fabric Stain Removal, Fabric Stain Removal, How to Remove Fabric Stains?

Stains in fabric are due to many things like coffee, blood, fruits and their juices, grease, rust, ink, oil, sauces, sweat etc. Here is a list of few satin removal tips. For most stains, keep in handy: alcohol, vinegar, hydrogen peroxide. Mix together the ingredients. Shake well and pour a small amount on the stain.Let it remain on the garment for a while. Dry it with a washcloth. Rub the stain away and wash normally.

Stain removal is easy. A few simple steps can easily be followed at home to make your garment or any fabric stain free. Just remember the three most important rules of stain removal:

•act immediately
•blot — don't rub, and
•never apply heat until the stain is removed.

Removing rust stain: Whenever you notice a rust stain on clothing, soak the area with lemon juice. Find a nice sunny area in your garden, that is relatively clean snd lay the garment directly in the sun, until it dries completely. When it dries the stain should be gone, and you can rewash the garment in order to remove the lemon juice.

Removing oil stain: Spread fabric/garment on a flat surface with the oil based stain facing up. Sprinkle any type of baby powder or regular over the stain in a large quantity. Let the powder rest on the stain for several hours or even overnight. Brush or shake off the excess powder. You can scrape if the oil/powder residue raises up on the fabric, reapply powder and then let fabric rest again. Wash as usual. If the oil stain is still there, rubbing alcohol might remove the spot.

Removing sweat stains: Use an aspirin tablet. Crush the aspirin pill into 100 ml of warm water and wait for it to dissolve. Soak the stained part into the solution for 2 to 3 hours. Then wash as usual.

Removing blood stains: Use only cold water to dampen the stain. Rub salt into the area. Fold the stain and rub the fabric together. When the blood is nearly gone just wash the garment normally.

Removing food stains: For food stains, quickly grab some soda water and apply it over the stain. You can even use liquid soap if soda water is not available.

12-Year-Old Arrested in Connection With a Deadly Omaha Shooting, Police Say

A 12-year-old suspect was arrested Tuesday night in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in connection with a deadly shooting in Omaha, Nebraska, officials told ABC News today.

The boy will be charged with first-degree murder alongside 15-year-old Shuntayvious Primes-Willis and 17-year-old Jamar E. Milton, police said.

The Douglas County Attorney's office initially said all three suspects would be charged as adults, but Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine later said that the 12-year-old would be charged in juvenile court.

A Nebraska statute that went into effect on Jan. 1 states that suspects under 14 must be tried in juvenile court.

I think Guilford Green from Benjamin Moore is a beautiful color:

https://rowespurlingpaintcompany.wo...green-benjamin-moore-colour-of-the-year-2015/

Ok GiGi, I am flying you in. Guilford Green is the color of my dining room with Chantilly Lace Trim. It has been Guilford Green for years as I love the color. How much do you charge for a consultation? :)

I have swatches of Wythe Blue on my walls and it sure is a lot of blue. I am going to get samples of BM Beach Glass and Palladian Blue to see if I like those better. I am looking for a calming effect lol and I am not a neutral color person. I did repaint my Family Room BM Putnam Ivory above the chair rail and Decator Buff below, with 1/2 strength Putnam Ivory trim so it is tone on tone.

I have swatches of BM Nantucket Gray, Bassett Hall Green, Richmond Gray and BM Saybrook Sage on my kitchen walls. They are basically gray greens that vary in intensity. I am trying to continue the warmth from the Family Room and find a color that will make my beautiful cherry cabinets pop. The kitchen faces west, so I get afternoon sun and the kitchen is dark most of the day. This is an expensive undertaking as I keep going to the BM store for more $10 paint samples.

Has anyone used any of the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint? KCL had posted pics of furniture she has repainted with it and it looks awesome. I was thinking of trying it on this new island that I got. Just curious as to how you liked it if you have!

More Questions:

Has anyone tried a cleanse? I just ordered Advocare products to start my 3 week cleanse to jump start my metabolism. Not sure if it will work.

Did anyone hear on the news that the FDA has approved Vivance, an ADHD drug, for memory loss in menopausal women? I have got to try it!

Thanks for the multitude of advice on my different scenarios.

The River House: Worth $1.2M; built in the 30's; owned equally by both sons now and both sons are responsible for utilities, upkeep, taxes etc. My DH is off 4 days a month so we rarely go down as I find it boring lol. I prefer the beach and the river house is in a lovely remote area with no wifi or cable... Now when he gets his boat after I get the countertops ;) then maybe. My MIL talked to both me and DH before she died and said this "takeover" was going to happen and DH needed to speak up. She asked me to make sure his voice was heard (because I am loud?). When I went this past weekend, I made sure that things were cleaned up as I still think of it as my MIL's home and want to give it the respect that it deserves.

The property has a vaulted garage that has an apartment with 3 bedrooms and a bath for guests. Apparently, my DH and his brother decided to replace the steep staircase and build one that is monstrous with landings. They did not pour footers and were using above ground footers? And a building inspector happened to drive by and shut the project down. He said they needed a building permit and to submit plans. OMG. So the access to the garage apartment is limited to a metal ladder type staircase for the time being. OMG I took one look at that unfinished thing and just about died. My MIL would be having a fit. The real reason for building the monster staircase is so my SIL can have her golf cart parked there... SMH.

Unlike my SIL, I have no plans to interject myself unless it affects my DH. She wanted to rip out all the flowering shrubs and flowers that my MIL had planted along the driveway that are beautiful because they are too much work. I told her she needed to ask DH about that first and that kinda shocked her back into reality. The house is not hers...

Um.............Zuri, your DH better get a handle on that. Once Planning and Building (or Zoning) have you on the radar for building without permits, they have a tendency to keep you there. They can start levying fines if plans and permits aren't submitted, or the construction isn't torn down. And then there's the threat of them dragging you to court for non-compliance. You do NOT want to get sucked into that. And if they don't get their pound of flesh, they'll put liens on the property which will be a bear if the home is ever sold.

Anything you do to add to the exterior of a building requires a building permit or clearance, even if you think it doesn't need one, it's better to run it past Planning and Building than get in their cross hairs.
Stairs require specific height and depth, support specs (yep, ie footers), railings, etc, etc. Above ground footers for stairs would not be consistent with a "permanent structure", it would be considered "affixed" which doesn't pass the sniff test with P & B.

If these boys want to "self contract" they better bone up on building regulations or they're going to loose a lot of time and money.
JMO.

Does anyone know of the WS link for this case? I have looked but I cannot find.

Nearly two weeks after the remains of a young girl were found along the rocky shoreline of Boston Harbor, more than 45 million people have seen or shared a computer-generated image of what she may have looked like in life.

But authorities are no closer to identifying her.

TIA
