We missed the Royal Ascot!!! :gaah:

The fabulous hats of the Royal Ascot

"While the horse racing is meant to be the main draw, many of the attendees to the world famous Royal Ascot in Ascot, Berkshire, England come to see the fabulous hats donned by the celebrities and royals on the race grounds. Check out some of the marvelous millinery on display!..."

About Mr. Hung , 1) learn to speak English or sing in your language. Remember
(is it) Myoshi Umeki she sang in Japanese , her singing was beautiful. I give him an a+
for guts! My husband had a "thing " for her! was I jealous? yah he spent 6 weeks in Japan.
(he was only 23 yrs.)..

She sang in English, too:

Loved her in Flower Drum Song.

Here she is in Flower Drum Song

"Miyoshi Umeki could sing English songs without a trace of an accent. In the FDS, she sang in character as a new immigrant. After her role as Mrs. Livingston in the Courtship of Eddie's Father, she retired from show business. Finding that her early successes in Sayonara and FDS could not be repeated. In 2007, she passed away from cancer, at the age of 78, in Missouri where her son lived."

Latest weather update 10 minutes ago:

Latest Update from the Storm Prediction Center keeps the entire tri-state in a MODERATE RISK for Severe Weather this afternoon through the overnight. A SIGNIFICANT DAMAGING WIND event is expected to unfold across our area this afternoon into the evening. Wind gust in EXCESS of 70 mph will be likely across the MODERATE Risk area. This will result in widespread power outages and tree damage. Isolated tornadoes will be possible within the line and some hail. Bottom line, be prepared for Severe Weather today. Main hazards (in order) 1) Damaging Winds 2) Flooding 3) Tornadoes/Large Hail.

So, if I'm not on here this evening...due to storms or we lost power...

Just thought I'd post this if anyone here has followed or is interested in the Darlie Routier case. She's presently on death row for murdering her two young sons back in... 1996 I believe it was. Her case is being featured tonight in the 9 PM (Central Time) episode of "Death Row Stories" on CNN .

Watched it last night and she sounds like she is guilty (and her husband, too, IMO).

DARLIE ROUTIER ON DEATH ROW AWAITING APPEAL OF CONVICTION FOR GRUESOME MURDER OF HER YOUNG SONS

"...an appeal is being built by attorney Stephen Cooper, and some of the things he has discovered in his research suggest that not only was Darlie Routier possibly not the killer of her sons, but that her husband is much more likely..."

Darlie Lynn ROUTIER

"Classification: Murderer

Date of arrest: June 18, 1996
Date of birth: January 4, 1970

For those of you with loved ones struggling with addiction, specifically heroin, I found this article this morning:

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/12/u...0150712&nl=todaysheadlines&nlid=68392680&_r=0

[h=1]Obituaries Shed Euphemisms to Chronicle Toll of Heroin[/h]

Maybe someday, our government will acknowledge that Viet Nam and the Afghanistan wars contributed massively to the abundance of heroin that has entered into the United States and how the sales contributed to the war effort, sometimes on both sides. "Air America" or Frank Lucas ring a bell? ISI/ISIS, or whatever the PC term, is currently funding a large part of their terror from proceeds of heroin from Central and South America that is sold in Africa <-----why is that when they have the poppy fields of Afghanistan right in their back yard, more prominent in the world production of opium and heroin than ever before?

The article is a start of a growing trend: Doesn't matter what you income, class, race, religion, etc., is, heroin is the equal opportunity death dealer. Families who experience death by heroin are speaking out.

The only way it can be dealt with is blunt honesty.

I just can't believe that the addiction that my ex-DH started in 1976, would get a hold on my daughter in 2002. Will it continue through my grandkids?

The "War on Drugs" is a joke. And the only ones' laughing are the rehabs, prisons, banks like Bank of America that laundry the proceeds, and drug lords.

Rant over...........

BBM I pray it won't and hope not. :therethere:

Drugs are a real problem (and not just Heroin- think prescription drugs- even Grandma/Grandpa can get addicted) and heartbreaking for all involved.

I'm in Indiana and yes, that is south of you. I've got my meds in a box and other things may need if we need go to the basement. We already have severe storms alerst by the weather center. First round is on its way. Be here in about an hour or so. Strong winds in this first wave. Then the 'bad boy of storms' will be here this evening. We hardly ever get this type of storms (DERECHOS - LONG LIVED AND WIDESPREAD WIND STORMS)...It is already clouding up and the winds have picked up some. It's so humid it takes your breath away! I'm not liking this at all...

Already battened down the hatches on the back porch. Got Little Bubby's calming pills ready and I am ready as I will ever be.

It's heading to my neighboring state of KY (where Dmacky lives) after its done here...

On the Baby Ember thread , her daddy stole a car at gunpoint this morning and LE tracked him and there has been a shoot out. Some say Matthew Graham is dead. His seven month old daughter "was kidnapped, stolen, taken" sometime between 10:30 pm and he discovered her missing around 5:00am while in his care, and hasn't been found yet. I hope he left a note telling where he dumped her little body. His wife, was packing to move back in with him that night while he kept Ember, who suffered from seizures and woke every two hours to eat. He called her "it" during a police interview. He was smoking "wax" that night.

What the heck is "smoking wax"? Something I have not heard before.

Thanks for the locations, CJ. It got very dark and windy for about 15 minutes, then the sun came back out. Just a few drops of light sprinkles here. Hope Little Buddy can stay calm enough. Such trauma for those fur babies breaks my heart.

My meet-up with Bravo was SUPER! So easy to talk and the time went by way too fast, just catching up mostly on WS cases and our kids.

Spell ~ I am in Kentucky and cj is in Indiana, and our weather is the same according to the news!
I think we are having our worst threat between 6pm and midnight (Ky.)

Getting ready for round one soon, as it is very dark outside. My brother lost electricity yesterday from the early morning storms that produced these floods. These pics are from yesterday, now today even more rain!
