I am a Benjamin Moore, Pratt and Lambert and Farrow and Ball paint person as they have the colonial historic colors I love. I have used Behr paint also and like it a lot. I have more paint samples sitting in my kitchen lol. I probably have enough for you to paint a room.

I am watching "NY ER" on TLC and I miss working so much. I really loved doing what I did. It was hard work, but so rewarding. Some nights were really intense, especially, summer, full moon nights.

1871 - Carousel patents by Wilhelm Schneider, Davenport, Iowa.

I loved the carousels. I have a photo of Anna and her daddy riding the carousel at six flags when she was two, and one with her sitting on my lap driving the old cars.

I had a friend that was an er nurse at Parkland ,the county hospital, and she said you never knew what was coming in, but that she thrived when under pressure, that she felt she was at her best. She had tried being a floor nurse but it wasn't for her.

The same for me. I did floor nursing/float for 3 years when I got out of school and then did SICU at UNC, where we got traumas from all over. When I moved to Delaware, ER for years. I could never go back to the floor. When I went to codes, I instinctively was looking at the wall for my equipment, which they don't have right there on the floor. Way too much stress.

If any of you watch these shows, and you are not medically oriented, what is your take away from these episodes? I understand every thing they are saying, but I can't imagine most people would. Do you find these shows interesting?

And Parkland would be super super busy I bet, based on its location. Kudos to her!

I can hardly wait! this is one book I really want! there are always parts of a trial the public knows nothing about .This will be a good one. JA. is going to have a chit fit over this!! For what she put him through, he has earned the right to publish first book from actual trial. I am so happy for him. :happydance: :happydance: :happydance:

Me too. Thankful for the heads up. I just pre-ordered.

And it is the county hospital for all the poor and those that don't have insurance. Parkland has come a long way but it still overloaded and overworked people. It's still like a cattle call, and it's not going to get any better n matter how many new high tech buildings they build.

The Er at the back of the hospital still looks the same.

Got one coat Snowfall White painted on the ceiling today and we are finally close to a family consensus on the green! It's between Behr Jade Mountain and a mix of Jade Mountain and Free Green. Once we decide on a shade, we will prime tomorrow. We might actually get this done in the next month. Ceiling looks 1000% better already!:happydance::skip:

Hi all! I'm back....

Had a LOT of fun at the 50th high school reunion!! WOW! I didn't recognize at least 10 people - mostly guys - but to me they all looked like what they did in high school, just a few more wrinkles, like me! I didn't belong to any "cliché" in high school - I made the rounds to all the groups - cheerleaders, the smart people, the people nobody wanted as friends... so I basically knew everyone there! :gathering:

Huz said the kittys missed me... :cat: :cat: they were laying on top of me last night when I went to bed!

Where IS everyone?? :waitasec: no one has posted since last night??

Okay than - I'll cruise around WS and see what's going on! :pcguru:

Later! :seeya:

The polls are closed- we have a winner!: Army Camo, no really the winner is... Behr Jade Mountain in Satin finish with Free Green for the Baseboards. Hopefully it will evoke foresty, rather than Minty Green. It's the 2nd one down on the Left. This is for my Den. My bedroom is I guess kinda a Cornflower Blue.

Amy Winehouse. Now there's a name you don't hear mentioned very much anymore.

And it was just a few days ago that she earned herself a pin celebrating four years of sobriety. So she's got that going for her...

Here's another video by Shocking Blue. Were they were part of the San Francisco music scene in the late 60's? I don't remember their name mentioned along with the likes of other notable San Fran bands like Jefferson Airplane, Quicksilver and Big Brother w/Janis (all of whom I still love today!), but this song "California Here I Come" sure has that patented late 60's San Francisco "acid-y" psychedelic sound.
