Well, the vet came Saturday and Zuri is totally out of the woods!!!!:happydance:He flushed her one last time, and I got to take her Vet wrap off Sunday. Today I give her the last shot of antibiotic............and she gets to be released from "pony prison" and play with her buddies. Vet says she looks like she's going to be a "steel blue roan". That would be so cool!!!!

This is what a steel blue roan looks like:

AZULS%20JOE%20HANCOCK.jpg

*my vet told me he honestly didn't think she'd get through this, glad he didn't tell me when he first came out*:scared:

The Salt River Horses petition went through the roof, Sen.'s McCain and Flake even jumped in. There is an attorney representing the horses. I hope it goes in a positive direction.

Several fires burning in Arizona, but nothing more than usual. Arizonans just expect it, it's the way it's always been. The monsoon has been coming and going, not anything to substantial here, things get green, go brown, then green again. The Phoenix area seems to be taking a beating, and the was a tornado warning in Flagstaff yesterday (of all places) that basically said "GET IN YOUR CELLAR, BATHROOM, OR SAFE PLACE!!!!!" Very strange, a tornado in a place that is just chock full of mountains, Ponderosa Pines, and not much of anyplace that's actually "flat".

A 5 year old boy went missing from the Jacob Lake area on Thursday, he has yet to be found:

http://www.kpho.com/story/29742940/400-searchers-scour-jacob-lake-area-for-missing-boy

A miracle is in order. 400 searchers. Temps of 49-77 this time of year and there are large predators like Mountain Lions in the area, it just doesn't look good.

Watched the last episode of Jon Stewart *sigh*. I'm going to miss that. I hope Trevor Noah can bring his own craft in and continue the success. He is incredibly intriguing, his childhood in Africa, his bi-racial upbringing during Apartheid, his education, the near death of his mother.........it should be interesting.

The last episode of this year's "True Detective". Lots of twists and turns, I can live with the end result, but the first season was better. JMO.

And the Republican Presidential Debate (the one's who got to sit at the "grown up" table): Watched a whole, maybe, 15 minutes of it. I hope people are far better informed about this Nation's and global issues than these candidates are. It's just sad.

Beta testing for Roku starts today so I'm keeping an eye on the forum of the testers. I *think* it'll be pretty cool, have no idea what's involved but it'll be an adventure. This past season of "Dr. Who" is now available on Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime, I hope the none of Roku's new bangs and whistles put a glitch in my viewing, LOL!

Wuffs have been keeping me up that last 2 days........it actually has a name: "Winter Wolf Syndrome". Will this end with pups in 8 weeks? Kinda doubt it, but every morning I expect to go out and see a blood bath! It never is, but with all the "noise" Poquita and Ontos make it sounds like someone is being skinned alive. ALL NIGHT LONG. I wish they'd go nutty during the day instead of sleeping.......:gaah:

Catching up............:seeya:

I just happened across this about a couple from France that were found dead in the desert of New Mexico. I'm just at a loss as to why they didn't turn around and go back to the car sooner when they realized how hot it was and that they wouldn't have enough water. :( At least their son survived.

Saturday, August 08, 2015 05:29PM ALAMOGORDO, NM -- A French couple who died during an afternoon hike across the searing New Mexico desert likely saved their 9-year-old son by giving him two sips of water for each one they took before the supply ran out, a sheriff said Friday.

I had a wonderful time with my DH, KCL and John. KCL and John drove down the night before and stayed in Harrisburg and we met for lunch and the train ride at an Amish touristy place, that had the best food. Being with them is like we have been friends forever. I love her husband and he is one of the nicest people on the face of the planet. We are making plans to spend more time together, either on the East Coast or or out there.

Oh my goodness, who are those 2 beautiful ladies!!!!! Let me guess...........:loveyou:

I have been following this thread and it has so many heartwarming moments about friendship, kindness, generosity, caring, and community if you would like to give it a read.

I first learned about Susan's disappearance on the Chronicle of the Horse forum as a thread was started by one of her friends. Susan has been a horsewoman all of her life and disappeared in Scotland over two months ago. I immediately came over here and saw that a thread had been started, so I cross posted between COTH and WS and her DH and her best friend, Lumberjill, along with a WS member, Hippy Hippy, who has been searching on her own, have been posting.

Mountain Misst is now weighing in with her special skill set. Sometimes it takes a village, and it is amazing how we all can make a difference, even virtually. I am constantly impressed at how smart the people on this forum are at sleuthing.

The desert is not a kind place for those who don't understand her. How sad. It seems that there have been more tragedies than usual this summer in the deserts.

Bernina, I had a feeling she was going to be a blue roan when you posted pics of her shredded out. Very very cool and that coat color is prized amongst many breeders who breed for color. I would expect you to do very well showing in hand if you ever chose to do so. There is a breeder in Virginia who tried 5 times, as in 5 breedings so resulting in 5 foals, to attain a foal that is a blue roan. And here you did it without even trying. Very impressive I must say!

First!! I've been trying for the last 10 minutes to post this... :pcguru: :gaah: WTF!!! :scared:

okay - I feel better now...

UPDATE - The Huz got an appointment to see a doctor at the medical clinic tomorrow at 1:30pm! :happydance: I sure HOPE they can help him - even just give him antibiotics would be good!

Bless you coffeejunkie!! Don't you have at your pharmacy an "automatic" renewal of prescriptions? My Huz signed up at Rite-Aid, and they just automatically renew your prescription when needed! You should ask your pharmacy! It might help, if you keep forgetting.

Bernina - :happydance: that Zuri is doing good - and a VERY beautiful horse! And I also read that the Salt River Horses petition went thru?

Also, I bookmarked that thread for the little boy lost at Jacob Lake - here's a WS thread for it:
http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...illiams-5-campsite-near-Jacob-Lake-6-Aug-2015
Haven't started reading it yet - but should get to it today! Sounds like a bit like the other case in Idaho where little DeOrr Kunz, Jr. is missing... :(

and neesaki - now WHO would want to go on a trek thru the desert?? :desert: :hot:

and :tyou: Zuri for the link on Susan's case - I'll check it out!
and YES! two lovely ladies in that picture!! :luv: Hope you had fun!!

okay - tonight my Huz wants me to make "Austrialian Hearty Mince" - He will supervise - I guess he's getting a little bit of his appetite back!! I'll let you know how I make out!

Okay - off to check out the Jacob Lake case!

Cheers everyone! :seeya:

Lol! Zuri is special! It's probably her name (again, Thank you my dear "Zuri"!), and all her WS "aunties" that waited patiently for her to arrive!
Her color is totally unexpected. Her dam has dappling in the summer, her bay coat get's lighter dappling to it, I've never seen that before. No white or gray, just lighter bay colored dapples.

Went over to Susan's thread, what an amazing group of people and "feet on the ground" sleuthers! I hope the case is resolved soon.

I agree Bernina. She is beautiful!

Thanks for the tip about the spine thingy...I did not know that!!

I get a 3 month supply of all my meds from our insurance in the mail, so that was not the problem :) I had 2 full ones in the cabinet. I just forgot to check the meter gage on the one I was using and that one ran out.

Good morning all!

Boy, all you guys sound like good chefs!! :luv: The only thing is - I never learned "how" to cook! LOL! Lived at home thru college, Mom always cooked - couldn't get near the kitchen! Than I lived by myself for awhile - cooked to my preferences - nothing fancy - and not too much variety! When I married the Huz, he liked to cook, so he has been doing that all our married life - 25 years! And he doesn't like people in HIS kitchen either! And the Huz cooks everything from scratch!

I remember the Manson killings, as lived in the San Fernando Valley at the time; in fact, I knew Shorty, a guy that "disappeared" after visiting Manson and his gang up in Chatsworth (I think it was). That was a scary time!! Yikes!

and my Mother worked at May Company too! I believe it was the Northridge shopping mall. The shopping mall where the parking lot collapsed on that worker in the Northridge quake!!

And THANKS! for the good wishes for the Huz. Right now he's napping (again!). He's been taking a LOT of naps during the day. But he said he would call the medical office today and hopefully they have the results of his blood test. He too thinks he might have Lyme's Disease - all the symptoms are there...

Alrighty - I see that I'm the only one here... :(

so off to check out other threads on WS! :pcguru:

Later all! :seeya:

Niner, I've found some really good recipes on FoodNetwork.com. Everything from Shepherd's Pie to Zucchini Bread, Guacamole, Lemonade, Pizza Dip, Cookies, Pickled Pork, and Bacon Wrapped Matza Balls!

Thanks Zuri, I read over there a little but haven't caught up. What a mysterious case. I don't think I'll ever get used to people just disappearing like this, yet reading here, we find that there are so many that do... it's quite daunting. :scared:

RE: bolded - I personally don't think I would want to, there are so many beautiful forests to do that, I don't like "no trees" either. That aside, I suppose I can understand some people enjoy that? What I just can not understand is how / why they kept going when they realized the heat and thirst that was setting in. Why didn't they immediately turn around and go back to their car. It's beyond me, were they delirious or something? :scared:

Hey, y'all...

If you're annoyed that web pages always seem to be "locked" until every single ad on the page has loaded, relief is here!

Just this afternoon I found out about "adblock plus", which is free to download and install on your home computer (and I also believe on your mobile as well).

Now when I open a page here (or anywhere else on the www), the page loads in an instant (sans ads) and I am able to scroll around or click on links or reply or whatever without delay. No more waiting around for all the stupid ads to load. And no more ads hogging all of my RAM either.

I understand that ads are a source of revenue for this or any other website, but on my end I still have the option to ignore the ads with or without the use of adblock. And I choose "WITH". Now I don't feel so bombarded by the entire advertising community at large. And web pages now load fast, fast, fast. Yippee!

Anyways... as if it weren't obvious, I'm stoked! I just thought I'd pass along this info for those who may be interested. :) Prepare to be stoked! :D

Ok, adblock plus doesn't appear to zap ads embedded in youtube videos. I'm still stoked, just not as much as I was a few minutes ago.

Hi atthelake  he has ALL the symptoms of Lyme's disease - aching joints, pain moves to different parts of his body, lethargic, no appetite - almost EVERYTHING that I believe it was Zuri who posted a link to a lady's story of her Lyme Disease, which I sent to the Huz.
And oh - the blood test was negative - but like the lady's story said, her's was negative too, I believe.

Okay - signing off for the day/night! :online:
