What a beautiful boy, Zuri, my heart aches for you.

His movement is just awe inspiring, it brought me to tears............just beautiful.

On a side note- finally figured out that my bedroom walls are closest to Behr French Porcelain (that's why it makes me imagine I'm in a French hotel) with Toile Blue for the trim.
We bought, cut and painted the baseboards for the Den this weekend. They have the same vines that my guest bathroom does, and we painted them Free Green, but it's only a shade darker than Jade Mountain and not enough contrast, so we're going to redo them with more contrast. Progress, but not fast enough for me...

Zuri, I can't imagine what you have to go through - my heart aches so much for you!
Like Bernina said: try to stay in the presence, positive and realistic. One thing at a time. Come here and share your feelings every time you need and feel like.
If only I could do something to help you.
Biggest hugs to you, wonderful person! Please keep us posted, I'm impatient to know how HE is doing. LoveLoveLove

Zuri, I really feel your anguish and am so sorry. Miracles do happen, and I hope your boy will come home to frolic and roam. Bernina has said all the right words, there is not more I can add. Please know our hearts are with you and give updates when you are able. PTSD is a horrible deal. We know how hard all of this is, especially at this difficult time of her.

Ok. In the horse world we say we need jingles when our horses have health issues. I need jingles sent. My heart horse colicked again this afternoon at 4:30. As I have the foremost scholar on equine colic on speed dial, I had him trailered to New Bolton Center of the University of Pennsylvania in Unionville, Pa, which is about 30 minutes from the barn.

My horse has been admitted for equine colick 8 times prior, has had 3 major abdominal surgeries and I have spent over $50K keeping this horse alive, just in vet hospital admissions alone. He is on daily medicine and now is the $150K horse. I bought him with the life insurance money I received after my dad died. My siblings invested it. I bought the most magnificent horse I had ever laid my eyes on. He takes my breath away, he is so drop dead gorgeous, not only in looks, but in movement. He floats when he trots..

Here he is in the Emergency Unit, with a twitch on his nose while they are sedating him. He does NOT like being there with all the poking and prodding. He actually passed manure on the trailer ride which helped ease up some of the gas distention.

This is so not the week for me to have to put him down. The 33rd anniversary of my brother's death is Wednesday and it seems like yesterday. I dread this week every year as I become acutely aware of the days starting the end of July.

So please send Jingles up for my horse. Please. Begging here. Thank you my beautiful friends...

Oh Zuri ~ :heartbeat:

Sending Jingles of healing vibes for your absolutely beautiful guy.
You my friend, have gone above and beyond everything that you can or could EVER possibly do. I hope you take some comfort in knowing that.

You've got the best of the best Veterinarians for colic, fortunately you've got that on your side. If anyone can work miracles, they can.

I am also sad to hear about your brothers passing. Anniversaries are always hard, but he must have been awfully young at the time?

.........Zuri, thinking of you and your magnificent boy.............

Countless Jingles sent for your beautiful boy, Zuri. (((Hugs)))

I love all of you here. Your prayers and jingles worked. Knox is coming home (to the barn) this evening. Roberto, one of the barn staff, caught it in time. As he has done this so many times before, Roberto and Juan can tell immediately when he is uncomfortable and they medicate him immediately. If he gets no relief, the vet gets called and off he goes to New Bolton. I don't even mess around treating him at the barn anymore by having my most excellent vet go there.

Since I have Louise (foremost scholar on equine colic in the world) at NBC on speed dial and she answers my call, I don't hesitate. Walking in the door of NBC is $1500 and I don't think twice, yet agonize over a roof and granite. I have my priorities messed up I am sure, but that is just me. When the time does come, I am leaving Knox's body to NBC so they can study him further. He has already helped countless other horses with colic treatment as he is so atypical and the vets have learned a lot.

I really appreciate your comforting words as there was no comfort rendered here... I knew I could come here and share and you all would understand. I am just so blessed to have all of you in my life. Thank you...

What a relief!
Your priorities aren't messed up, you share your life with a horse you're committed to, your priorities are as they should be.

Hey,
"Love me, Love my horse, love my dog........." it's a package deal.

Oh Zuri, your amazing boy will soon be home again! :loveyou: I am so happy for you, and grateful this passed quickly. we are lucky to have you, and that you feel safe enough with us to share such personal sorrows. We are all on this together!

Hugs from all of us go to that beauty when he arrives. He brought us all together as one, united to bring his health back. Now YOU, Zuri, must promise to slow down and be kinder to yourself. You have had a lot of stress to deal with, and we are always here to walk with you through anything, now and in the days ahead.

This EPA spill into the Animas River is horrible.......Animus goes into the San Juan which ends up in Lake Powell/Lake Mead/Colorado River, it's going to affect 6 states, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and California, the 4 Corner's Reservations (Hopi, Navajo, and Ute), Havasupai, Jicarilla, Hualapai, Mohave, Chemehuevi, etc.,............and Mexico.

EPA: "Environmental Pollution Agency". Those SOB's, and during this extended period of drought, smooth move idiots. This is THE main water source for the Southwest. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Hugs and kisses to all of you right back. I am so relieved, yet remain hyper vigilant as I know it is only a matter of time. Logic and emotion are conflicting here. I truly felt the love and compassion from all of you and it has helped so much.

Tomorrow being the 33rd anniversary of my brother's death is a daymixed with sorrow and joy. Joy because my brother sent me Caroline, my youngest child on that day, 11 years to the day after his death. He was killed on a Thursday and she was born on a Thursday. The exact days to date of the week have not occurred since. She will be 22 tomorrow.

Knox is on the trailer headed back to the barn with my daughter and a woman who volunteered to take him up and back. Horse people tend to look out for each other, much like what Bernina described with the fires in AZ and CA. People just get their trailers and go, not knowing anyone, just to help get the horses out.

So those of you who aren't "horse" people now are by sheer jingles sent. God Bless all of you. With much love to each of you.

Bernina, will this toxic mess affect your drinking water? I can't believe they were so stupid and didn't even report it for 24 hours. Unbelievable. I saw on the news that it is headed towards Lake Havesu where so many people vacation and enjoy the water. Is there anything they can do before the water goes any further to dam it up or impede its flow without hurting anyone or anything?

Zuri, I hadn't read about Knox until this morning. Your posts broke my heart for both you and Knox and had I read the posts last evening, I don't think I would have slept for worrying.

I hesitated coming back to this thread as I couldn't bear the thought of you having say goodbye to Knox. I'm sooooooo happy for you and Knox....I've got happy tears streaming down my face as I try to type this! I hope the weight of the world has been lifted from your shoulders.

Please give Knox a treat, pet and a big ole hug for me when he arrives home!

Sounds lovely to me! Renovations seem to take forever don't they! Your home sounds very lovely with all the windows and doors. Happy Painting!

I am so touched that you did come back to read. I didn't sleep well at all as I kept waiting for the phone to ring. All the posts here, yours included, brought tears streaming down my cheeks. Somewhere in my life, I have obviously done something right to warrant such wonderful friends like you all. Xo
