I spent the afternoon with Lily. I got to rock her and give her her bottle. She took a short nap and was up again. She had two visitor today. Her other great aunt stopped by and took over playing with her when I left. She feels so good to cuddle and hold and her little voice is getting louder again, so her injuries are healing more.

She's getting two teeth on the bottom, can roll over and will probably be crawling by the time she's six months old. I have a video of her on her playmat wanting her binki and wiggling and kicking to reach it and when she gets it she pops it in mouth, but it won't load.

Lily is so adorable! It's great to see her smiling. :)

Hopefully, with the loving family you guys are providing her, she won't have any memories of what she went through. Tip-of-the-hat to you, Pages!

Page bender ... thanks for asking about my shoulder. Well, it is not healing and don't know what to do. I cancelled my last appt. because they take an xray, say the bone has new growth and to keep stretching. (I see the PA) It's been 4 months. Think there might be some nerve damage or something ... it really hurts! I feel like something is wrong somewhere. No insurance either. And I have this huge knot between shoulder and elbow. What the heck is that? :)

I'm going to probably be ducking tomatoes, lol!
My pups get Purina ONE, 2 cups each, twice a day..........plus free access to whatever the horses and birds eat (alfalfa and bermuda pellets, Animax, bran, COB (a grain mix of corn, oats and barley rolled in molasses) anything "live" that they might catch and decide to munch, table scraps and leftovers (specially vegetables and fruits) and real big marrow bones that I get from the feed store that are out of their freezer.

I've had them on lamb and rice dog food and noticed "fatty tumours" on Ontos about 2 years ago, and he'd also gained weight and got sluggish. Switched to ONE, tumours and excess weight are gone.
I went through the gamut of Lamb and Rice brands.......they were supposed to be "good" for wolfdogs.....pfffttt.......maybe for growing pups.

But my pups aren't fixed, only Ontos had a rabies shot 7 years ago, Poquita has had none. My last Samoyd had his rabies series (dang that was almost 15 years ago that he passed) and my first WD had a pup and adult rabies. I just don't do all the shots and vet stuff that regular domestic dogs have because of the high content wolf business in these critters for the last 20 years. Haven't had any litters of pups, either because of dominant females or crating during heat cycles.

The standard breed type dogs I've had seemed to have issues, Sammies, Dobies, shelties...any purebreds, they all seemed to have varying issues with allergies to fleas, bermuda grass, carpet and floor cleaners <-----seriously, used Mop and Glow down in Scottsdale and had Sammies with red paws , issues with Tide detergent with some when I washed their bedding.........like WTH?
Only unknown medical issue was an inflamed pancreas with one WD, 4 days at the vet and she was good to go. She was partially blind and totally deaf when she died, but she died on her terms, had a good supper the night before, the next morning she just went to sleep and never woke back up.
My last sammie was poisoned, and years later, one of my WD's was poisoned, both by a neighbor who later died of prostate cancer........Karma. I hear he suffered tremendously. Glad he did, he poisoned other animals I had also, fainting goats, and a pot belly pig, shot one of my horse's in the head (glancing .22 across the forehead, $500+ vet bill), took a bow and arrow to a pair of geese, and shot my cat while he had his foot on the back of his neck. (all this came out from other neighbors after we ended up in court with this idiot when he fenced off our easement) Lots of other casualties, thefts, and vandalism, that's why I got security cameras.

I think providing the most "natural" environment is the key, but when you have pets that have been genetically modified/bred to please the eye or alter their appearance for muscle mass, bone structure, ect., what exactly is their "natural" environment? How many pets could be dumped in a habitat that had a source of water, game and vegetation, and could survive without human intervention? Not a whole lot of them. Some would die just because their metabolism couldn't handle whatever they were eating(non-toxic) or eating too much of it. Others wouldn't be able to survive because the fur, feathers, teeth, hooves, or basic bone structure would eventually make it impossible to see, eat, reproduce, or move.

Quite a quandary...........

Neighbors were poisoning your dogs? I'm so sorry, that's just horrible. :( The whole dog food thing is a quandary. I don't know if your remember my post a while back about our dog getting Vit. D toxicity from the dog food, it was one of those top of the line brands, Blue Wilderness. He actually had gone into renal failure from it. Thankfully he was young, we caught it in time, he was treated and completely recovered. None of the vets knew a thing about it. I found it on the internet and the FDA website under Recalls. And when I told the vets about it ( he had been to several by then ) they acted completely ignorant of it, as if they resented me for telling them that. Whatever, sorry they don't keep up with what's going on in the world of dog food recalls. They should, shouldn't that be part of their job? :gaah: I mean, is there more negligence and laziness in the professional world today, or is it just my imagination?

The recent illness with mild pancreatitis was caused by him eating all the tiny little fish, "chads"? that kids were throwing over in our yard, dozens of them. We talked to the people that were in the area adjacent to our property which is on the lake about it, and all the fish in our yard stopped. Thank goodness. I still watch carefully and check out the yard to make sure there aren't any out there, because if they are he'll gobble them up, he just thinks they're a free treat. :scared: I did catch him with one after that, I missed it, and it was a little larger fish, have no idea how it got there, we think probably dropped by a bird, and he was just gnawing on it like he knew he really shouldn't. I said his name and told him to "drop it". And he did. I think he's learning, lol. I sure hope so.

What a creep. I can't believe that TV watching America made this trashy, hypocritical family rich. smh...

They made millions by "acting" (on "reality TV") and pretending to be something that they aren't.

There should be a big warning notice on these Reality TV shows: They're not doing this because they're big-hearted or good people. They do it because they're money-hungry attention mongers who have quite low morals and ethical standards. JMO

Who is it? Nevermind, I don't think I want to know, LOL. I don't do reality TV anyway, it's just ridiculous to me. Just a bunch of narcissists with fake bodies and faces getting money for nothing.

Wait a minute, why is that ringing a bell? Money for nothing...

Oh, I have it, it's a song, Money For Nothing by Dire Straits. Not that it has to do with reality TV, LOL.

Hooray for Bubby! (I mistook his name for Buddy earlier... forgive me?) Now for a fast and happy recovery. What an anxious time this has been. I agree .... no wonder he was in such pain, poor baby.
CJ ~ I too am guilty of calling your furbaby "buddy", and I should have read further before sending you a quick PM about him having surgery :blushing:
Oh well, I'm glad he did well and is back home with his family.
And everything Spell said...that's the ticket

I am not offended by anyone calling Bubby, Buddy :) Poor thing didn't have a name for some time after we got him. No one could agree on a name for him and since his 'big brother' Sims took him under his 'paw' I started calling him Little Bubby and it stuck :)

Can't wait go and see him later this morning!

Don't worry about your PM Dmacky...It's always nice getting PM's from you :)

Small Town Living
(true story in our local paper. left out the names/towns).

Man offering to trade his golf cart for a horse wound up in custody on suspicion of criminal trespass, theft, marijuana and other charges Tuesday night.

A news release from the Sheriff’s Office says Central Dispatch took a report around 6 p.m. Tuesday regarding a suspicious person operating a golf cart in the area of County Road 550 South/County Road 650 East.

The release says the deputy got assistance from another deputy and officer in the investigation. The complaining witness told police he saw suspect outside his house with the golf cart plugged in to an electrical outlet inside his home.

The owner of the house walked outside, unplugged the charger, and told him to leave immediately.

Suspect remains in custody, with bond set at on a $1850. He’s charged with misdemeanor counts of trespass, theft and possession of marijuana.

We love anything with bananas and banana pudding is our favorite. This is the best banana pudding there will be no left-overs!!

4 bananas, peeled and sliced
Vanilla wafers, (I use about 50 wafers to make this pudding)
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup regular or 2% milk
1 1/2 cups evaporated milk
4 egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
In a medium bowl, slice bananas and sprinkle with lemon juice to keep them from turning black. In a 2 quart casserole dish layer the vanilla wafers and bananas. (I use 10 of the wafers to go around the side of the bowl just because I think it is pretty this way). In a saucepan on top of the stove with a whisk mix together the sugar, salt, flour, egg yolks, regular and evaporated milk. Cook on medium heat, stirring continuously with whisk, about 7 or 8 minutes until thickens. (It will burn very easily so be sure to stir) Remove from stove and stir in vanilla flavoring. Pour over wafers and bananas.

Overnight Oats
1/2C oatmeal,
1/2C unsweetened vanilla almond milk,
2tbs almond slices,
1/2tbs chia seeds, pumpkin pie spice, and blueberries. Mix together and leave in the fridge overnight! Drizzle with a little maple syrup or agave in the morning...
