Hey! :wave:
Yes,
daiseymae there are a LOT of emotions going through you! When I wrote the first letter to my daughter, I could not believe ALL the memories that came back to me! WOW! Some stuff I had just completely forgotten! I actually remember the song that was playing when I left the adoption agency -
We'll Sing in the Sunshine by Gale Garnett.
And some one (sorry!) mentioned above about the child having 2 parents; I thought of this too, plus she had a hole in her heart, and considering I had NO medical insurance, it would have been very difficult time, with no job, no schooling... her heart did eventually close on its own when she turned 15!! I'm glad I did find out more about her;
her amom told me about her childhood and her talent in the arts! The "arts" runs in my family! And I could not get over "who" she looked like!! A cross between me and one of my twin sisters!! Oh my Gosh! Anyone looking at her would know she's my daughter!
ILikeToBendPages, you mentioned birth control - nope, none available for "single" women, only married women got to have those!
There is a really good book called
The Girls Who Went Away by Anne Fessler. I could have been one of those girls in that book, yes... I went away...
anyway, just
