I received a text from my daughter this morning and this is what showed up...
"Charlie Kat may not think living on the west side is cool, but Leroy is digging it (yes, we moved the spider too)".

She and her hubby moved to a new house over the weekend and her DH took that dang 'thing' with them! ugh! Now I'm wondering just how he moved it!? I texted her and asked and waiting for her reply.

Her reply: Put him in a plastic container and then released him.

That's what we always called a "garden spider". I hate spiders, but at least these are the kind that don't build webs on my deck, porch or in the house. They live in the garden and eat bad bugs. So in spite of my dislike of spiders, they're the best kind, lol.

I can relate, Jasper. During the investigation into the Savopoulos murders (here in my hometown!), the thread was inundated with a lot of misinformation, conspiracy theories, character assassination of people who were never accused or charged with any crime, ad hominem attacks on fellow posters, and a general meanness of spirit.

Several times the mods took down dozens of posts, trying to clear the air, but those same people came back and basically did it all over again. With a vengeance.

Even though I was highly interested in the case (the crime scene was just a few miles from my house!), eventually I just threw up my hands. It wasn't worth the frustration.

That thread seems to have died a natural death after no further arrests were made and no further information came to light. But I wonder if some of those people just wander around different WS pages trying to make trouble. Some of them seemed to think that the purpose of this site is to engage in controversy for the sake of controversy.

It really weirded me out!

Gigi, I'm not a Facebook fan at all. The case I'm interested in is a Canadian case that has Facebook pages popping up left right and center. I decided to bite the bullet a few days ago and started reading through some of them. Disgusting.

I've noticed Websleuths mentioned many times - so I think a lot of these newer folks, that are spewing radical conspiracies and hatred and everything in between, are joining here. Thus begins all the bogus BS. JMO

The stuff they post is deplorable. It's all I can do to scan the pages. There's nothing they won't say.

Sorry for your experience with this - it's good to know I'm not the only one. Sad, sad, sad.

Yep - those are most of his symptoms! Yes, I too like this Russian doctor - at least she is DOING something about it!! Also, his hematologist called last night - yes - at night!! He wanted to check up on Huz, but I told him he was still in the hospital, and they planned on giving him another 2 units. He said he would do the out-patient bone marrow for him. He'll be calling back this afternoon to talk with the Huz, as he is SUPPOSED to come home today! :happydance: I've really missed him not being here!! Also, they gave him a Lasix drip last night, and all his swollen legs and hand are now normal!! another :happydance:

Prayers for everyone on the east coast, Caribbean. I am about 2 hours from Hilton Head and Savannah, 3 hours from Myrtle Beach. We usually get the wind gusts and rain but we are pretty safe.

Ok guys, I need to let off some steam so please pardon my french if I slip up.

I've been very upset and b****y since my appointment with the specialist on the 21st of Sept. I was initially told they had taken a FEW biopsies only to find out they took a LOT of biopsies. The good news is there was no cancer. The bad news; something showed up in the biopsies but they were unable to determine what it was. I was told there was nothing that could be done. BS.

I see my family Dr. this Friday, so hopefully he can suggest something else that the last two specialists couldn't to help remedy the situation. This has been going on for over three years now and I can't take the pain and suffering much longer.

My real rant - I'm following a case here that is truly gut-wrenching. There are a few newer members but mostly one particular individual that are really making it difficult to even get on and read the thread. They're just posting nonsence and stuff that is completely irrelevant to the subject on hand. GRRRRRR. I try my best to be patient (guess I need to hook up with Zuri :thinking but I just feel like I keep banging my head against a cement wall. They're taking cults, zombies, you name it - some of the stuff that was posted was so far-fetched it was incomprehensible. :gaah::gaah::gaah:

A few members have made complaints to the effect and other stuff has been reported and the posts have been removed. When something is posted and verified as fact (as best as can be), one of these dudes posts a response that just makes me SMFH. :facepalm: Unfortunately, some members seem to have left the thread. I just may have to do the same. This is the first time, since I became a member here, that I've become so annoyed with this kind of crap but I've yet to see it this bad in any other thread, thank goodness. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but some of these dudes need theeir med's adjusted, lol. :scared:

Sorry for the rant and thanks for letting me vent here. I feel much better now!!! :blushing:

These facts alone were enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance).

Open a tub of margarine and leave it open in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will notice a couple of things:

* no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something)

* it does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value ; nothing will grow on it. Even those teeny weeny microorganisms will not a find a home to grow.

Why? Because it is nearly plastic . Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?

Caramel Pumpkin Cheesecake
Crust
2 cups crushed graham crackers (about 32 squares)
1/2 cup butter, melted

Filling
4 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 cup canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice

Garnish, if desired
Whipped topping
Candied pecans
Caramel topping

Instructions
1.Heat oven to 300°F. Wrap outside bottom and side of 9-inch springform pan with foil. Spray inside of pan with cooking spray. Mix crust ingredients; press in bottom and 1 inch up side of pan. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Cool 10 minutes.
2.In large bowl, beat cream cheese with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Beat in sugar. On low speed, beat in eggs, one at a time, just until blended. Spoon 3 cups of the mixture onto crust; spread evenly. Add pumpkin and pie spice to remaining cream cheese mixture; mix with wire whisk until smooth. Spoon over mixture in pan.
3.Bake 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 25 minutes or until edge is set but center still jiggles slightly. Turn oven off; open door 4 inches. Leave cheesecake in oven 30 minutes. Run knife around edge of pan to loosen. Cool on cooling rack 30 minutes. Refrigerate 6 hours or overnight. Run knife around edge of pan to loosen cheesecake; carefully remove side of pan. Top with whipped topping and candied pecans. Drizzle with caramel topping.

I have never liked margarine and have always cooked and baked with butter; olive oil is a big staple too. I buy the unsalted sticks and always store in freezer and take one stick out at a time and keep in a butter dish at room temperature. Butter will not spoil and it's always soft and spreadable. :moo:

Sorry, Daisymae, I wasn't worried about you before because I thought you were too far south from where the hurricane is going to make landfall. But you're right, you'll definitely be the first to be hit, even if it's technically still over the ocean.

It sounds like flooding is going to be the biggest problem. Now they're saying it might be another superstorm Sandy.
