"The murder conviction of Mario Casciaro, an Illinois man who was sentenced to 26 years in prison for the death of a missing teen, has been overturned by the states appeals court.
A panel of judges with the Second District Appellate Court of Illinois ruled Thursday that prosecutors provided insufficient evidence to prove that Cascairo, now 32, had murdered 17-year-old Brian Carrick, saying "the evidence against defendant was so lacking and so improbable that 'it is simply unreasonable to sustain the finding of guilt beyond a reasonable doubt,'" and reversed the conviction..."

Suspected Serial Killer To Be Charged In 6 More Slayings
"Police have secured arrest warrants for William Devin Howell, charging him with killing six individuals and dumping their bodies in the woods behind a New Britain strip mall.
The warrants are being served on Howell Friday. He is currently serving a 15-year sentence for killing Nilsa Arizmendi, whose bones were discovered in the same location.

Arizona inmate sentenced to life for raping prison teacher
"...Jacob Harvey, already serving a 30-year-sentence for rape, received a life sentence from a Pinal County Superior Court Judge Kevin White for the January 2014 attack at the Eyman prison complex in Florence, about 60 miles southeast of Phoenix.
Harvey pleaded guilty in August to rape, aggravated assault with a weapon and kidnapping in what the head of Arizonas prison system called a despicable and cowardly act.
