Hi YESorNO!
Nice to see you back posting! I've missed all this news! :D

Re Autumn Leaves - you'll send them to me free, right??!! :autumn:

I love the piggie in the pumpkin! Saved that for my FB page for Halloween!

On your "Is it Sweater Weather yet?" That popiscle reminds I better check the coils in the freezer - as I had popiscles looking like that one! LOL!

Oh Bernina! :happydance: Sounds like you had a great ride! Glad you've found some of your old friends again! Enjoy life! :D

Now the Huz wants me to see if I can get the heart dr. and hematologist together, so he can get his pacemaker. Meaning give him 3 or whatever units of red blood cells and put in the pacemaker. So I've called the heart specialist and his nurse said to go ahead and send the blood results and will give them to the doctor who will be doing surgery. Then called the meatologist's nurse and her the fax # of the heart specialist! I hope this works. His heart is really weak and he thinks he would get better much faster with the pacemaker. We shall "see" what each doctor says! :waiting:

Okay - logging off for the night! :pcguru:

:seeya:

I hope something will work for your DH- more prayers going your way. :please:

Bernina, what a joy it is to "hear" you sounding young and spunky! Glad you had such a great time on the run. But .... did you win anything?

Quite cool here today. Wish my trees would start shedding their leaves. I don't want to be raking in freezing weather.

Hugs to all who want one!!

Nope, REALLY bad hand, lol!
Winnings were all donated to the 2 bikers who were hurt, and like everyone else, I rummaged through my pack and threw in the $50 I had in cash/another $50 in a check.........by the time I, Marc, and the other 5 of my school buds left, the total was over $20K, and donations were still coming in from late comers. LOTS of people.
The 34 year old woman who was really busted up is a champ, the 2nd vehicle swerved and clipped her on the leg, popped out her hip, compound fractures up and down it, and she kept her bike up. If she had dumped it, she REALLY would have been in bad shape. No word on how soon she'll be out of the hospital.
What was terrible is not one of the car drivers were cited. People who don't know that road just don't pay attention and all of a sudden they see the traffic light and slam on their brakes. There's been all sorts of accidents there, several involving livestock trailers. And with what is being termed as the "brown out" on emergency services in this county, the Fire Station with EMT's just a 1/4 down the street couldn't respond because of employee cut backs and re-drawn boundary lines for services.
I'm just glad that Prescott Regional Medical was able to air evac her to Phoenix.

One more thing Bernina

JINGLES!!!!!!!
It's that time of the year, or just an extension of that previous "time of the year", we just need a month where everyone is feeling good and everything is chilled out!
:gaah:

Ok, spilling the beans (did some editing) on Saturday's adventure:
The Red and White Poker Run was a multi club/group event, just bikers from all walks of life, and the wonderful people at the Az Gang Task Force, aka GITTEM, followed any and every one who participated from Phoenix (even though it officially started in Black Canyon City) all the way to Chino Valley. I believe it was someone from GITTEM who was one of the many callers who asked for assistance when 2 riders got snared up in an auto wreck in front of the Prescott Airport. We were a mile ahead of them.
Two injured in multi-vehicle crash on Highway 89
http://dcourier.com/main.asp?FromHome=1&TypeID=1&ArticleID=150742&SectionID=1&SubSectionID=1086

It wasn't until we got to Chino that the reason we had a following became clear. Sonny Barger had moved to Chino Valley. So we probably all had pictures taken of us at various points of the ride...........I get it, I just don't want to become infamous, lol!
Good people, good food, exhilarating ride, just a really fantastic day that ended back in Phoenix.....I haven't felt so alive in a long time.
I haven't been on the back of a motorcycle for 35 years and it was just the ticket to get me in a positive place. My old school bud, Marc, let me ride with him, he had blues playing on his speakers all the way up and back, which probably took most automobile drivers by surprise :floorlaugh: there's something to be said about the sounds of a Harley and blues music that just makes the scenery more intriguing.
And the weather was perfect.
I'm going to be splitting my time between Phoenix and here, didn't realize how much I have missed my old friends.
Playing catch up!
Hope all my peeps who are under the weather feel better very, VERY soon!
Zuri, glad to see you back! Baby waiting has started, lol!

So happy that you got out of Dodge and had such a great time, Bernina! I used to do poker runs down the Florida Keys (I would fly down) and it was great fun. Never won any money, but it was always for a good cause, so no one really cared.

Motorcycles have come a long way in 35 years, right? My BF finally switched over from a Road King to a Honda Goldwing. So much quieter. I didn't realize how much the noise of the loud pipes (that save lives) was getting to me until the time we did the "Ride to the Wall" for Memorial Day a few years ago. You can't imagine the reverb and sheer decibel levels of all those motorcycles (mostly Harley's) going through the 7th Street tunnel in DC. Even with a full-face helmet, I thought my head was going to explode! But it is so much fun to be on the open road with the wind in your face.

I hope you enjoy your new-found freedom and explore all the opportunities that await you.

I was involved in a conversation today where someone said [they had read] that depression is what happens when you dwell on the past, and anxiety is what happens when you're worried about the future. I found that to be an interesting way of splitting the baby. We debated a bit about the fact that some life circumstances leave people both depressed and anxious. True Dat!

I am glad that you seem to be managing both ends of the spectrum with grace. Please keep up the good work and seize this moment in your life for all that it's worth. It's your's for the taking!

Been laying down all day and needed get up and walk around the best I can and was time for meds and just had check in on my fav forum :) Hubby has been such just a good nurse today :)

:tyou: for the JINGLES and the good thought and prayers :blowkiss:

Thanks, GiGi!:loveyou: And I'm going to make a note of the bolded and hang it up where I can see it, that REALLY makes a lot of sense!
Marc has an Ultra Classic.

I like that thought about depression-- I also have another thought and that would be depression can be contagious. I think everyone in my house has experienced it to some level. Such a dark little cloud amongst us.

Had my mohs surgery yesterday and they only had to go after the basal cell once and stitched it up. Sadly it's on my left side and that's the side I sleep on. I'm so tired---between husbands snoring/talking in sleep and having to sleep on back...

I believe that, too. I think it is a contagion. No matter what else, if you're around happy people, you're more likely to be happy. But if you're around people who are depressed or angry or ... fill in the blank ... Bottom line is that you're more likely to take on the positive or negative influences of those in your immediate circle...

Stupid me. I only responded to the first part of your post. Please forgive me for being insensitive. I was distracted (watching the Democratic Debate).

My sympathies to you regarding your surgery. That's never an easy thing to go through. Hoping all went well. Please take it easy and get well soon! :)

So many wonderful posts since I last checked in!

Zoey.... Hope all stays well for you now. And I hope you get some good rest. Having to sleep in a way you are not comfortable is a big adjust,met.... may you heal quickly!

Love the wisdom and the funnies share for Bernina. So true about depression and anxiety (thanks, GigiG). Having a bit of the combined effect myself.

Zuri, Nore, and CoffeeJ .... many hugs and well wishes for you, and for all who can use the extra support at this time. And a special jingle for Niner's husband.

I am sure I missed someone .... my love to all of you wonderful people here.

Arkansas death row inmates ask judge to keep hiatus on executions

"Lawyers for eight death row inmates in Arkansas asked a state judge on Wednesday to place a hold on a planned resumption of capital punishment in the state, saying there are secrecy problems with the procurement of lethal injection drugs.

The judge held off on making a ruling in the case, with a decision likely to come just a few days before Arkansas is set to conduct its first execution in a decade on Oct. 21, when it plans to put two convicted murderers to death..."

Gun shop ordered to pay millions to injured police officers

"MILWAUKEE — Jurors ordered a Wisconsin gun store to pay nearly $6 million on Tuesday in a lawsuit filed by two Milwaukee police officers who were shot and seriously wounded by a gun purchased at the store.

The ruling came in a negligence lawsuit filed by the officers against Badger Guns, a shop in suburban Milwaukee that authorities have linked to hundreds of firearms found at crime scenes. The lawsuit said the shop ignored several warning signs that the gun used to shoot the officers was being sold to a so-called straw buyer who was illegally purchasing the weapon for someone else..."

Jeremy Bamber planning fourth appeal as TV show claims he is guilty of 'Bambi killings'
"New evidence uncovered for a TV show by a top investigative journalist claims to prove Jeremy Bamber is guilty of the so-called “Bambi Killings”.

Bob Woffinden - an expert in miscarriages of justice - says the evidence is so compelling that it even caused him to change his mind about the case.

He had always believed Bamber was wrongly convicted of the murder 30 years ago of his adoptive parents, adoptive sister and her twin sons at White House Farm in Tolleshunt D’Arcy, Essex..."

‘I’m so drunk,’ driver says on social media before arrest

"LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) — “I’m so drunk,” a Florida driver repeatedly tells followers on the social media app Periscope, staring at her cellphone’s camera, mounted on the dashboard, before she is arrested and charged with driving under the influence.

The Lakeland Police Department released video from the app Tuesday, after the arrest from the weekend made national headlines. In the video, a glossy-eyed-Whitney Beall said that she thinks she’s blown a tire and that she’s driving very slowly..."

Supreme Court reluctant to rule on juvenile murderers' life sentences

"WASHINGTON -- About 1,500 prisoners convicted of murder as juveniles and given mandatory sentences of life without parole may have to wait a bit longer to have their hopes for new sentences decided by the Supreme Court.

YESorNO I got tickled at the article you posted about buying leaves
the website said
Each bundle includes three leaves, in a mix of colors, for $19.99, plus shipping. Am I interpreting it wrong? How in the hell can 3 leaves be a BUNDLE? Oh well it made me laugh anyway, and that's always a good thing.

Just so ya'll know, I will rake up my entire back yard and put them in a big black "leaf bag" and send them to you.
And Its for free.

No thanks on the leaves, Dmacky. It was mighty generous of you share, but I have more than my fill here. I think I will just chop them with the mower this year..... had enough of filling bags with walnuts.
