Unfortunately, Zuri had to put Knox down tonight. Sadly, it was also his 11th birthday.

She is heartbroken beyond belief. She wishes to thank everyone for all the jingles sent her way on behalf of Knox and her ordeals with trying to maintain a good life for him.

Knox was a remarkable horse, beautiful in every regard. And he was very much beloved. Zuri spared nothing in giving him the life that he deserved. She was meant to be his, and he was meant to be hers.

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she attempts to manage this painful first chapter of her grief.

GigiG, thank you for the notice and your lovely post in the face of such sadness. You said it all so very well.

To our lovely Zuri, I will worry a bit about you, as I know such a traumatic event can set off your health issues, too. Please try to remember to take care of yourself while going through this sad time. You were a tremendously good owner, and Knox was given every chance possible for a long and happy life. Not too many would have been able or willing to do all you managed. May your happier memories of Knox carry your through the coming days. :hug:

Complaints filed against prosecutor in Jodi Arias case

"PHOENIX — As the Jodi Arias-obsessed public awaits his tell-all book about the case, prosecutor Juan Martinez is the subject of two new complaints to the State Bar of Arizona, the semi-governmental agency that licenses and polices attorneys.

They are the fourth and fifth Bar complaints against Martinez in the last year. The first three, filed in 2015 after the Arias sentencing trial ended in a hung jury, pertained to that case and already have been dismissed.

The fourth complaint, filed by unknown parties, concerns Martinez' book and remains under investigation.

So does the most recent, filed Dec. 22 by the Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice, an association of nearly 500 defense attorneys. The complaint spans at least 10 years of Martinez' career and as many of the cases he tried..."

"BOSTON (CBS/AP) — The mother of the 2-year-old once known as Baby Doe allegedly received state aid for her daughter, months after the child’s murder, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Rachelle Bond is charged with being an accessory after the fact to her daughter’s killing. A larceny charge was added against her for allegedly continuing to accept $1,400 in public assistance after she knew the little girl was dead.

Bond pleaded not guilty at her arraignment Wednesday in Suffolk Superior Court in Boston after a grand jury indicted her in the case.

I had a 1959 Blonde haired Barbie - with the swim suit as above in the picture. One of my sisters had the brown/black haired one - 1959. I sold them all for $4,000 a few years back - with all the clothes that we had for them.
And I too had a Ken with the fuzzy hair! :giggle:

I was just thinking of Zuri and her grief tonight. :crying:

Life can seem so unfair- to have what we love taken from us, but I know this is part of living- why does it have to be so heartbreaking (I hate it sometimes :sigh: ).

I thought of this music tonight- it's so sad (just like I feel). It's from one of my favorite movies, The Red Violin.

It terribly cold here, ice under the snow and just a miserable day! All school are canceled for tomorrow. May be more snow coming late Mon or early Tues. I made corn chowder, baked brownies, for DH bake a chocolate cake (I hate chocolate cake) 'hiding' lol . Played around making cards. Good day really

I have been MIA the last few days, and missed Zuri having to make that choice. I know she was looking at a little filly and it would be nice if she had any of Knox's "essences" to make a son or daughter of Knox.




I'm making pasta in the pot for dinner tomorrow night. Make a good spicy meat sauce then layer cooked pasta (I've used medium shells penne rigate, rotini or elbows) sour cream and provolone cheese, and meat sauce for three layers , top with mozzarella, and bake for thirty minutes then let set fifteen. Add a big salad of lettuce, cucumbers, red and green bell peppers, radishes and purple onions, and fresh garlic bread, with Italian cream cake and ice tea... mmm mmm good.

Dear Zuri , I am so sorry to hear about Knox. He is romping in the fields tonight , no pain no suffering. I wish you thoughts of Knox and your memories. We cry and wish to se.e them one more time , we will one day. Take care of yourself . Don't get sick again please
your Knox would not want that. Horses are very intelligent animals, also very loving. I wish I could make you feel better Sweetie, all I can do is tell you we love you , want you well. I know it hurts so bad been there with my two Cockers. held them in my arms when they passed just as I did my children. I believe "children" can have four legs as far as our hearts go. :rose: rayer:
