Jinx! :giggle:
Honestly I remember being a surly teenager dragged to the weird VFW to see my dads friend 's 9 yr old girl play her fiddle with a band and was like "gross I wanna hang out w my friends" and all pouting. Until she took the stage to my back and she opened her mouth to sing and it was like a religious experience how it turned me around. Coming out of that little girl..I'll never forget it. She's a Star landed on the planet.
She and Robert Plant work well together.
I hope this is not too inappropriate here, but I can't get this song from "Hair" out of my mind with "Miss Arias" substituted for "Aquarius" and I'm hoping someone is creative enough to write some parody lyrics for it:
"This is the dawning of the age of Miss Arias, the age of Miss Arias"
Horrible but funny in a weird way.
I'm sure yourenreferencingmthe fact I've pulled the fire alarm within seconds to be rescued..or started a small fire to hurry them up. I'm not awake and typing on the iPad and not even gonna fix it..so there.
Hi there cosmos! I dashed this off for you this morning, another jury song for Verdict Day:
When we're done deliberating
And we walk into the court
We'll hand our vote to Valerie
And she'll give our report:
This is the morning of the end of The Arias
End of The Arias!
The Arias! The Arias!
Blasphemy and outright lyin'
Cruelty and stealth, you're fryin'
No more falsehoods or derisions
Nothing wrong with your dam* vision
We believe the Prosecution
So get set for execution
The Arias! The Arias!
When you're led off to the Death House
And all alone in your cell
We hope you know that you earned
Your trip straight into Hell!
This is the morning of the end of The Arias
End of The Arias!
The Arias! The Arias!
The Arias! The Arias!
(let's hold hands and sway)
Let the killer, let the killer fry, the killer fry!
Let the killer, let the killer fry, the killer fry!
Let the killer, let the killer fry, the killer fry!
(repeat as necessary)
Can someone please post George Harrison song called What is Life.
Yup last I saw Fred he told the whole back story on that. Robert sought her out!
Wow that video is stunning!
I love her piano style. The riff is simple, but very persistent and she delivers it forcefully. She also has some serious soul.
A persistent riff. If I start a blog I'm naming it that.
It is funny, Viv, but you're running the risk of thoroughly ruining a great song permanently! Don't forget "Oh Holy Night!" Quick, Antidote!

So true, I'm fully aware that I've destroyed some good songs! For instance, I think it was you who posted "Sundown" last night - one of my faves and it broke my heart to do damage to it (but I did anyway!). That's why it's good to hear all these songs in their original versions, it kind of restores them back to their virginal state for me.
If anyone's offended, though, let me know and I'll stop.
Meanwhile, here's one I thought of dedicating to Juan Martinez:

Appropriate for a friend, worrying about a lot of stuff right now.
