MsMacGyver there are a gazillion of them out there - just put free avatars into your search line and away you go. I was looking over them and found about four right away I thought would suit you just fine.
But then I don't know if your are cartoon, fantasy, animal or what....

:floorlaugh:...Well, don't feel like the Lone Ranger cause I still haven't figured THAT one out yet!....:waitasec:

Animal and cartoon definately. I have a good picture of my yellow lab named Sam. Him and I are alot alike in that we both are the gimps of the family. We had to take him up to Madison, WI for surgery a few years back. He had bone chips in his elbows and tore both cruziate ligaments in his knees. He's a clown, no matter how much pain he's in, he's always happy. I built him a ramp up to our porch because he has trouble with stairs. Thats what I've been doing all afternoon, putting the cover on so his ramp isn't icy this winter.
Then I saw Bayoulands, it made me laugh. I guess I'll have to do some searching tomorrow.........:bath:.............:thud:

RE: CM trial.
I'm so glad someone pointed this all out. What a difference! I was afraid to ever watch a trial again because I didn't want to see so much deceit and incompetence again.
Everything seems so much more professional, especially the defense. I actually can respect the defense here for doing what they need to do. No cringing, like the KC case.

The lawyers aren't making faces and cracking jokes. The defendant is not making faces, mouthing words to the jury or burying his face in his attorneys arm pit to garner sympathy. The judge would shut that nonsense down immediately. The mood is somber in CM's courtroom because a person is dead. You would have never known that half the time during the FCA trial.

The DT is burying CM but the judge is not stepping in to help him. Unlike JBP who held JB's hand the entire trial.

IMO

Precisely jon_b.
(I have snipped your fantastic post but only for space)
One could have been forgiven for thinking the defendant in the Casey Anthony trial was the victim. Someone was dead?

I think JBP could take some lessons from the judge in the MJ trial. I was expecting CM's trial to be total chaos. In fact, I didn't watch the beginning because I didn't want to see our legal system twisted into a joke again. I'm amazed at how professional the trial has been so far (at least what I've seen). As soon as a member of the DT went on a talk show blasting the prosecution he ordered a gag order immediately. He refused to sequester the jury. The CM judge instructs the jury all the time but he doesn't kiss their arse. In a word he is professional to everyone. He does not yell, snap at people or issue threats. JBP was all over the place, sickening sweet to downright rude to giving threats that were just that, empty threats.

I was looking for a good clip of one of my favs (Dr. Arpad Vass) when we were having a little fun with JB's staged picture in front of a computer. JBP was just plain rude to Vass in front of the jury. He told him if you want the jury to hear you, you must slow down. It wasn't what he said but how he said it. Did the jury read into his tone, body language, etc? Was Vass' testimony completely ignored by the jury because JBP kissed their a## 15 times a day and was outright rude to Vass?

The exact same scenario happened in the MJ case. The anesthesiologist was talking fast and using some pretty complicated medical terms. The judge asked him several times to slow down but it was completely different than JBP. He did it respectfully. In fact, the court reporter stopped him and asked for a spelling and there was for the first time I saw, a tiny bit of laughter in courtroom to include the doc as he apologized again and tried to slow down.

The most glaring difference (aside from the absurdity of FCA's DT) I see is the jury gets to hear expert testimony from beginning to end. They are not pop tarts, subjected to constant sidebars, etc. For the first time in my life I was ashamed of our judicial system during the FCA trial. The CM jury is taking lots of notes. The CM judge is showing the world how it's supposed to work in our country.

IMO

This is a great post.
Thank you for saying what I wanted to. I had been trying, but could not figure out how to say it without getting bogged down.

When JBP held JB's hand during the trial, wouldn't that make the jurors think that JB was the good guy who needed some help, especially when JBP didn't bat an eye at JB and KC's antics but came down so hard on JA?

I guess part of me wants to believe that JBP knew without a doubt that FCA would be found guilty but he was trying to bend over backwards to avoid any chance of appeal.

Why do you think there was so much "cringing" in the KC case? I really want to know this answer!!

(imo...the first set of "cringing" started with Cindy and the LE and the second set of "cringing" was with Judge Perry and the Defense AND the jury...everyone was trying to cover their collective asses.)

Caylee lost out in the end.

Well, JBP can rest assured that his bending over backwards did avoid any chance of appeal.

How right you are cityslick. The old saying - any publicity's .......
How many of us could NAME Bundy's, Dahmer's or The Zodiac's victims? Yet the killers themselves are some of the most recognized people in the world.
We all know who Charles Manson is, but who was Sharon Tate again?

too right. my hubby picked up a book at a charity shop for me about the yorkshire ripper a year or two ago that was unusual in that each chapter was all about the victim, and carried on through every one of them, even the ones that got away, before getting to anything about the ripper. they should all be that way.

however I know who sharon tate is...and abigail folger...although without googling I couldnt tell you who the others that died that night were.

And remember the part of the Paso where I fall down "dead?" We worked on that sequence endlessly, and I believe I was dragged on the ground at least 150 times in the process ... my whole left side is black and blue!

Yes they should all be like that. I remember reading a book about Fred and Rosemary West which provided bio's on each victim prior to the part about their demise. It was as interesting to learn about them as it was to learn about F n R.
On the other hand, I read a book very recently about Ivan Milat, the 'Backpackers' serial killer in Australia. He deserves nothing other than derision, yet sadly he must have glowing with pride because the whole thing was about HIM

Dragged on the floor, black and blue, loss of wind. Who'd have thought cutting a rug would be a life-threatening activity?

BBC TV did a great mini series show about Fred and Rosemary West. It was called "Appropriate Adult".

You bring up a good point ...I can understand from a history standpoint, that we should never forget what these murderer's have done. The next generation doesn't know who Charlie M is. Also, having information available for study, I can see how someone going into a specific field such as LE or the mental health field could find these resources helpful, as long as the author is credible. Examples of past crimes can often inform in regards to future ones. We can compare FCA crimes to other mothers who kill and see patterns form that can be helpful.

My problem is when you put words like "Hollywood" and "FCA" together or "FCA" and "a singers name"...I feel it offends Caylees memory, for me anyway. It gets me right in the heart. I guess all I can hope for is that Caylees Song by Rascal Flats and any future books or movies will outnumber the others. Unfortunately as you pointed out, thats usually not the case.

I can forget FCA but the reality is her name and case WILL be brought up everytime someone makes a comparison to another situation which does makes sense, I just don't have to like it! I see it almost everyday with the CM trial and I cringe everytime. It's taken me this long after the end of the trial to watch the video of the verdict being read. Theres a good reason I watched it with the sound off ! I could only watch enough to get the information I wanted from it.

I do find comfort in the fact that the good people of the world still outnumber the bad and we will always remember Caylee as the little angel she was...:heartbeat:

Ah, thanks rossva. I've never seen that one here. Maybe I can get it online somewhere. Is it a 'based on fact' story or a doco?
