I think for someone like me, OCA didnt profit much at all....you know, the whole most hated, hugely in debt, living in someone's trailer thing. but for someone like OCA, she hit the freaking jackpot. eye-deep in debt? who CARES? wasnt gonna pay it anyways! cant get a job cause the economy's tanked and everyone hates my guts?? wasnt gonna work anyways! WOO! living la bella vita in a filthy trailer? well, I dont like cleaning and responsible things like that anyways! attorneys plotting on how to NOT have me around their necks for eternity?? big whoop, I have supporters! they send me christmas presents!!

so....yes and no, she did and did not profit, she will and will not profit....depends on whose eyes you're looking out of. if it was me, I'd be in hell. her? I think she's got herself a lifetime of all she wanted anyways...morons to support her, and no caylee! WOO.

yeah ITA, although after seeing her videos I believe jail wasnt much a worry for her either. remember the psych saying she was abnormally happy and the guards saying similar? as long as she didnt have to DO anything, as long as nothing was expected of her, and the cheetos flowed like rain, I dont think OCA would have cared about life in prison at ALL, anymore than she is concerned about the one she is in now. only worry she had was the state "killing her", like a good little sociopath, because that REALLY WOULD affect her.

We all have to make a living I dont understand why anyone would get upset over the salary people make doing their jobs. WHen you go to the doctor he gets paid ( maybe) and when we get a gallon of milk at Kroger they make a profit too. So It is only natural that all parties involved in this field get what ever pay thet are owed.

Just think, all these people get paid and they don't have to try and involve innocent people in a murder to do it . Neither did Jeff Ashton.
Which is more than can be said for the Defense Team. Accuse a father of incest, accuse an innocent meter man of interfering with Caylee's remains, accuse a hapless woman of kidnapping her- what a bunch of disgusting people they are . I guess it's just Kismet that they are all found defending the indefensible. It's ironic that the murderer has to sell photos of her dead child to pay people like that...
Thank goodness for men like Jeff Ashton. He is still seeking justice for Caylee.

As compared to Ashton who "stuck around" for just this case, perhaps knowing the fame of being associated with such a heinous case would help him in his run for State's Attorney.

By the way, how many people were on the Prosecution's side? All paid for by the Florida taxpayers?

IMHO JA didn't need any help. His track record alone was enough.

IMHO if KC was innocent we would not have one side pitted against the other, ever.

The $ JA made during the trial was his measly salary for his YEARS of having the thankless job of prosecuting, the scum of the earth. Nah...he doesn't need to donate money from his book, take that $$ and run, straight to the State's Attorney's office, where he can continue to make changes on behalf of the VICTIM'S!

I understand where the criminals of the State of Florida are shaking in their boots, but get used to it. Jeff Ashton, State's Attorney, has a very nice ring to it.

Well, it is a well known fact that prosecuting attorneys that work for the State never make as much money as defense attorneys. The money is in private criminal defense. I guess the term "measly" is all relative. An attorney for the state will never be broke and on public assistance but they do not have as much opportunity to make the serious money that criminal defense attorneys do. They work and operate in two very different worlds, and the prosecution is held to a much higher standard ethically than the defense. One would have only had to watch the trial to see that play out every single day. The prosecution did not speak to the media once until the trial was over, Jose and Co. had their shiny faces in cameras ad nauseum. You really can't compare the two in any way, financially, ethically, or otherwise.

I believe any state or government says that as they reach legal retirement age,and have maxed out their pay scale. But there is a huge difference between a fixed annual salary and the kinds of massive profits Defense lawyers can make. That is after all why they are Defense Lawyers.

I know. It just still blows my mind that they sold that baby's pictures to get her off. How low can you sink? Pretty low, I guess, once you have duct-taped a toddlers face, stuffed them in trash bags, and dumped them on the side of the road. After that, there is no high-road anymore. You are capable of anything.

On another note, did you see the GR/JB interview last night? I'm going to search YT and see if it has been posted. I'd like to see JB's demeanor. I hear tell he seems "out of sorts" from his usual, camera loving self. I'll report back if it's worth a watch!
