I dunno - she had to have felt something somewhere along those lines. She spent so much time with Caylee - even if it wasn't a motherly feeling - you'd think maybe she misses the routine of caring for Caylee all day.
The problem GP, is that you (and we) are only capable of thinking in a normal compassionate way. OCA is not capable of thinking in those terms, and we are incapable of understanding how she thinks.
Quite simply, she's not like us.
IMO, when she disposed of Caylee it was like growing out of her doll stage ... so the worn-out doll was just tossed out with the trash - never to be thought of again.

:floorlaugh: No not that time - I think I was looking unusually respectable..:innocent:

Er...tights - definition: black or whatever colour stockings you cannot see through. Worn unwisely by anyone over 30 with an extremely short skirt or even more unfortunately, with no skirt at all....think Robin Hood...:giggle:
(OK I'll stop after this one)
:floorlaugh:
That would be OK wouldn't it, so long as your Will Scarlett wasn't showing? :innocent:
This sidebar has been such an education in fashion for me.

Glad we've helped with your "education" but I hope you aren't passing all of this along to your Dearly Beloved because she may not believe it's just WS that you are visiting with your mouse....

Here's something I am really puzzling over. It's an O/T question - but I am really interested in your answers if you can spare me a thought or two.

We have an "all faiths" TV station in town, and not long ago I was stopped on the street by their roving reporter and asked the question that we hear often.

If a fire broke out in your home and you could save one thing - what would it be?

I said "my dogs". The reporter was stunned. He said "your dogs?" What about all of your photographs, your memories?" "How could you say your dogs??"

I was blown away! I told him my dogs rely on me for their well being - they are basically helpless without me to feed and care for them. They are living beings. I could never abandon something living for something inanimate like photographs. I told him I carry my memories in my mind and my heart but I could never live with myself if I let my dogs suffer and die to choose memories. My photographs and memories are the past - the present is something living and breathing.

The reporter looked at me like I was completely nuts and like I'd gone over the edge or something. Help me out here - have I actually lost it and just don't know or am I completely cold hearted about my family memories/photos etc.? Seriously....:waitasec:

What a strange reaction from a reporter from a religious station! Personally, I would make my best effort to save my kitties. Unfortunately, they are scaredy cats and run to one of their many "hidey-holes" at the slightest upset. I've found most, but not all of them. When found, it is very difficult to extract them. A lovely old woman I know had a fire a few years ago and she tried to find hers in a small apartment before passing out from the smoke. She survived, barely, but her kitties were lost to the fire. She still mourns them terribly. Yes, my kitties would be my first thought and I'd hope they'd have the good sense to run out the door if I couldn't find them.

As for our OCA, I have to wonder if her answer would be, MYSELF! What else is worth saving? Who else is worth saving?

To even think that choosing papers and possessions over a live creature is beyond belief. Although nobody loves their old photos and keepsakes more than I do, Max, my miniature pinscher :furious:, would be my first thought. He is helpless and alive and feels pain. What a crazy man!

(respectfully snipped)

Not a very Christian attitude! Leave a living creature to die but make sure you grab the albums. lol
Luckily cameras hadn't been invented 4000 years ago ... Noah's mission might've been very different.

Thanks everyone for your answers to what would you save from a fire - I was just shocked to get a reaction of surprise at bewilderment to my answer of saving my dogs first. There wasn't a question of other people or children involved, but for me, since we train our animals to obey and rely on us - how could anyone even consider leaving them behind and instead choose something inanimate no matter how much sentimental value they have. And as several of you have said, from a religious TV station. You've all reaffirmed my belief in the wonderful hearts we have on this board.

:seeya:Loved the story and everybody's answers regarding the man in the street interview. WOW! I too would save my dogs, they are like children-scared and helpless at times. They help us. they depend on us - This question sort of reminds me of when tragedy strikes and the media, in all their infinate wisdom, will go up to a home, where a family is in deep grief, invade their privacy and ask: 'How Do You Feel?'

Well, just because he's from a religious TV station doesn't mean anything. I worked as waitress once, and some "Christian" people said their prayers, but treated me like crap and didn't give me a tip. And it wasn't because of bad customer service because that didn't happen. I think I was just below them in their minds, and as long as they said their prayers, that was being "Christian" enough for them. I've met other people like that, who are more religious in word than action. I think this reporter is one of them.

And I'm not all that religious myself, more spiritual. Even I would save my dog first from a fire. That guy is just weird and must not ever have had pets in his life.

I guess I'm thinking of it from a normal person's perspective. I have dolls that I haven't touched in 25 years that I still care about and would be sad if they were lost forever. I have no intention of ever playing with them again but I have a fondness for them because of how much joy they brought me. Do you think Caylee never brought her any joy? I really hope there is something inside this woman that struggles. Otherwise we are witnessing pure evil.

As much as I dislike this chick - where is there any evidence that she's parading around in disguises and loving every minute of it? With the exception of the staged Ohio pics, I think she has done an amazing job staying invisible. I expected the opposite from her - thought we'd see her everywhere with her own personal TMZ crew.

Oh my gosh, I have to share this. I know it's getting off of what we were talking about, but this is the sidebar. I was playing a computer game called Skyrim last night. It has a open world, the kind where a player can wander around and discover dungeons and such. Last night, I happened upon a place called "Liar's Retreat." My first thought was THAT'S where Casey's been hiding all this time! :floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

We just need to find a "Liar's Retreat" in Florida, and that's where Casey will be! I'm sure of it! :floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

Well, she didn't seem too upset about doing it for her ZG depo. She hasn't seemed upset at all about it, and I think her "team" is desperately trying to keep her under wraps so that there is a big payday later on when she's "rehabilitated" or "saved". She's not doing this on her own. She has people willing to keep her location a secret for money. If she were on her own, there's no way she's be invisible for this long. So not, this is not an amazing job on Casey's part. I'm sure she's loving the attention while she sits there and does nothing but don disguises for depositions, drinks beer, and sells the occasional story or pictures to the Enquirer or whoever is willing to pay to keep her in the media. She is loving all the attention she continues to get.

I'm sorry. I do respect your opinion, but Casey is a sociopath and just doesn't have any compassion or normal feelings. Anyone who can take the 5th 60 times and not shed a tear or in any way get emotional is not normal. She is enjoying every moment of this farce she is living. I don't doubt that for a moment. I just can't have any compassion for her. I admire those that can, though. I just can't, and I think the absolute worst of her.

Anyone who thinks the way that reporter does, should never own a pet!
Human beings like him make me furious.:banghead:
I have read the same type of comments concerning animals at Christian boards on the web & I really have to wonder, who is the God they are worshipping to think so lowly of his creatures.

Like you, I also expected we'd have seen something of her by now. It must be killing her not be able to put herself on show.
I hope you didn't take my analogy as some sort of offense. IMO she had an attachment to Caylee but what I meant was, not one you or I might relate to. For instance, to me, in all the photos or video we have seen of the two of them, OCA seemed to have made herself the focus of the shot rather than making any of them a story about Caylee herself. Caylee was just 'in' the shot and OCA's big white teeth were the focus.
I've always considered myself a reasonably good reader of people but OCA stumps me. IMO when she tossed Caylee away, she was doing nothing different to what she appears to have done so many other times in her life ie terminate one phase and move onto the more interesting next one. Casey Anthony always believes the grass is greener on the other side.
Whether Caylee brought her joy during the time it was convenient for OCA, I really don't know ... as much as I've tried, I've not been able to put myself in her brain.
Nothing in my own life has been more exciting, enjoyable or important than my children and how anyone can just toss one away like a toy they've outgrown, well, it defeats me

BBM. IMO, the only reason we aren't seeing her mug everywhere is (1) because she is on probation and (2) she is being granted special treatment on probation (ensuring future earnings) because of ALLEGED death threats.

You can't have it both ways. If she is out and about she damages future earnings and loses special probation treatment.

Well said, LG :rocker:

If my family was out of a burning house and I had to chose to save something....It would most definitively be our dog, a living, breathing member of my family ...I would never risk my life for a photograph...a piece of paper...

This is one of the rare times I am going to disagree with you Jon_Burrows. I believe it is only Baez who has said there was limited contact - Lippman has consistently said there is no contact and his last media blurb said "zero" contact.
I think OCA has completely cut her ties to her family - she has no use for them now that she has a new family. She wants a new life and believes her self a star who can rehabilitate herself in the eyes of the world now that the "poor victim has cut her ties with her highly dysfunctional family" who caused all these problems for her in the first place. She is about to reinvent herself and have a new life or so she thinks. What possible use could CA and GA be to her when in her mind they will forever tie her to this crime.

Nope, don't believe there was a Thanksgiving dinner at Hopespring Drive that included OCA.

FCA hated CA and GA before she killed Caylee. She continued to live at home because she wanted to. She could have easily gotten a job and lived with a roommate to share expenses. She could have cut CA/GA out of her life before she committed murder. She already had a great roommate and friend ready and waiting (Amy) to move in with her.

I would agree with you regarding contact with the As if FCA was making a lot of money for interviews, magazine spreads, a book, movie rights, etc. I think FCA thought she was going to be rich and famous and people would actually want her autograph. I don't think there is a market for anything FCA related and that may be sinking into her egotistical brain by now.

FCA may realize now that a million dollars isn't that much. Taxes would take a sizable chunk. She also has to pay the IRS and the state for investigative costs. There are law suits (ZG, TM) that she may lose. I don't think a big pay day is in her future any more. In fact, I think she'll end up in a financial hole she'll never be able to climb out of.

I don't think anyone is hiding her because they care about her. Whoever is hiding her wants some sort of pay day. They may want to write a book or do the interview circuit to talk about what it's like to be around a killer. Maybe their reward isn't monetary but they thrive in the spotlight. Whatever the motive, I believe that FCA is the one being used right now.

FCA's secret is out now. She is a liar, a thief, and a baby killer. She will attract people like her. She'll never enjoy a good friend like Amy because most people wouldn't want to be anywhere near her. Same with the guys she dates.

So what/who does she have left...CA/GA/LA. These are the people who lied and covered for her so she would be set free. FCA will not work and I think she's keeping track of the money her parents are getting. I believe Phil gave them 500k, there's probably more $ we don't know about. CA would be ecstatic if FCA got pregnant again. It's only a matter of time, I think FCA will be pregnant within the next year or two. The cycle will repeat itself.

IMO

Probably true, but I hope not with all my heart.

I said yes, yes, yes and yes to myself as I read down your post.

However - BBM - I think it will take her a while to get to this point. I think Baez et al is telling her to stay put until the "big reveal" and then OCA will find out just how empty her world really is. By that time she may slink back to mommy and daddy but I think she will do an interview for money, and will hang out there in freedom and when it all runs out and no one will buy her lies - then maybe she'll go back home. Or she will convince CA to dump George, bring some money and come over to the dark side to look after her.

Even 100K would seem like a hug amount of change to a small town/time gal like OCA.

If KC is truely "hiding" and she is such a news "get" how come no one has found her? Any novice reporter and /or detective could handle this! Where are the paparazzi when we need them? I would rather them get the bucks then Jose and FCA ( or do-gooder Dottie).
