Can you guys picture it?

Right now Jose Baez is probably curled up in the fetal position in his closet, chewing on a Twizzler and clutching his iPad (you know the one he and CA giggled over on many occasions during her murder trial) posting fake 5 star reviews on Amazon and cursing us at Websleuths as he buys a few more books to to add to his ever growing dusty collection trying to make his book a NYT Best Seller. LOL

I just read where Rielle Hunter's book (also a BenBella "best seller") had cancelled the rest of its tours etc because it only sold 6000 copies! Lolol! Hey BenBella, when you lie down with dogs like Rielle and Baez, you get fleas!!!

bbm
I agree.
Her phone AND computer activity

And I don't know WHY LDB played nice and didn't introduce OCA previous bad behaviour when she was handed the opportunity by the Defense.
The funds "taken" from Cindy's bank account and the Felony Check Fraud .....LDB should have gone for the jugular , Baez did

My understanding is that you can't introduce prior "bad acts" into a capital murder case?

If I recall correctly, the Anthony's were being wined and dined at the Ritz the day after poor Caylee's bones were discovered. The dollars had been rolling in previously as Caylee was not found, and still presumed "missing". I also believe that one of the other attendees that night at the Ritz was some PR guru from ABC, wasn't it? The taste of the good life, at the same time of Caylee's discovery left a bad taste in my mouth. The Anthony's knew then for sure....and yet they continued making $$ off of that poor baby's name.

"When it comes to the exclusion of Casey's lying and stealing, the State points out that "prior bad acts" may not be introduced unless the defense opens the door in by putting such evidence into testimony first."

Baez was questioning someone, I forget who it but may have been Cindy, and he, Baez, said something about Casey being a good mother/person yada yada ... it was something about her character....I don't remember the exact words..but what Baez said in court opened the door for the Prosecution to introduce her prior bad acts to refute what Baez said and the testimony he was trying to get from that witness...the lawyers went to a sidebar and LDB did not introduce the prior bad acts..

Does anyone else remember this during the trial?

Okay..I must have been wrong...but I remember Baez talking to a witness and LDB picked up the sheets with OCA's prior bad acts and fanned them? Am I dreaming?

I found the transcript of the Sidebar where the defense wants to introduce evidence of the family being dysfunctional...and LDB and Asthon remind Mason and Baez that if they bring in testimony or evidence of the family being dysfunctional that they will be opening the door to allow ALL of OCA's stealing including as LDB says the hundreds of checks from Cindy's bank account..

It is from a Sidebar on June 24, 2011

I found the statement Baez made after Jeff Ashton's book came out!!!!!!

Jose Baez statement on Ashton's book:

"Having read several of the comments Mr. Ashton makes in his new book, I am both surprised and somewhat disappointed he has chosen to attack me on a personal level. Without going into specific detail, I will say only that many of his accusations are absolutely false. I take my responsibilities to the court very seriously and I have been careful to always conduct myself in a professional manner. This was an extraordinarily complicated case and so much of what happened behind the scenes has not yet been made public. When I decide to tell my story, you can be certain I will not be personally attacking Mr. Ashton."

Mr Baaaaaaaez...Liar Liar Pants On Fire

Which one of you sleuths is going to write the book which refutes the cacophonous lies of JB? You could call it: Presumed Guilty - With Good Reason (The real story behind Caylee Anthony's murder, not some crap fed to you by Casey's idiotic attorney who assumes you are as stupid as he is)

Yes! Yes! Yes! I want to pre-order this book right now. A book from the sleuths of WS, will be the Best, from the Best, on the Best Seller List. Not to mention a book of TRUTH! Sign me up NOW! :rocker:

And that's exactly what Baez did......

Yes , I remember. I have wondered about that too - maybe JBP suggested that she let it go. What happens in a sidebar like that? Do the attorneys talk it out and then the Judge makes a decision? If so, then maybe it wasn't her call.

I was only talking about the bad cheque convictions - not sure about the money stolen from Cindy and her family - the way CA was acting she may have lied about them and said it was a loan.

But if she was talking about her being a good mother, doesn't legally having felong cheque convictions considered not an indication as to whether or not you are a good mother. I remember a case in the States where a father who murdered a mother was still given visitation rights because he was a good father....The problem with was she a good mother or not is that most of that was just heresay...i mean we know she wasn't but proving it was something else again...

But that wasn't the occastion LDB was flipping those cheques at the sidebar was it - that was for something else if I remember right...:waitasec:

"This is the not the first time some idiot has filed some papers," Mason said.

:floorlaugh: Ya don't say?

She has a point - I have to applaud her for having the guts to try to do something.
In VonHatten's three-page motion titled, "We the People vs. Casey Anthony," she said Anthony's behavior is "single-handedly making a mockery of Florida's" judicial system and has received special treatment.

I like Dan Abrams. I like him even more since he twittered that JB's book was inane...:rocker:

Been incredibly overloaded at work today so haven't been around to listen to the thoughts on a WS self publishing. Not sure if Tricia woudl go for that so I suppose it would have to be done off-site. On site - I imagine it would be a legal nightmare for the shareholders of WS.

Not that I don't think it would be a great idea...:fireworks:

But nothing else earth shattering? Just reading more of the same circles I see ...:waitasec:

Hope to get finished in a couple more hours...:seeya:

Back briefly to add:

Currently #160 at New Release ranking - and #5 in Mayhem...:giggle:
I'm thinking mayhem is a Really Small Category....

And could there be a chapter in this book for some of the beautiful photos of baby Caylee that have been shared here?

See I remember LDB flipping the pages with the cheques as well, but not at the sidebar but at the Prosecution table...
It may have been 2 separate occasions the one at Sidebar and Baez flapping his mouth and opened it wide enough to allow the Prosecution to walk through with the prior bad acts..but LDB didn't...

Was it mentioned in Ashton's book? anyone remember?

LG...I updated the post you replied to...I found the Sidebar transcript where they were talking about it...

Hi
It was not this lady I was referring too in reply to Mason's comment about idiots filing alot of paper....I was thinking of a certain lawyer who recently appeared on the View promoting his book
