Wow, that whole statement blows my mind! Thanks God I did not read that book, I literally couldn't take it. I guess an attorney will have to weigh in on this one, probably some legal mumbo jumbo will make it all A.O.K.

that is just too much, he really states as a fact that FCA told him she did the chloroform search?? and he KNOWS that?? but was "setting up" the Prosecution?? unreal. goes to further show how trials are just a show of gamesmanship, who can one-up the other side.

sheesh!!! this case takes the cake!

IMO, MOO, etc.

Yeah it sounds like it is really unethical.... it seems to me it would be
subornation of perjury,

That really had me upset too for days. Low life belly walkers talk like that.

Now that its the weekend and I have time im gonna write a few letters to some organizations for tourettes familys etc and see if they have a reaction...

Ok.. ive been reading a bit more Jezzz reading this book is like torture..
and I have a question... I thought it was illegal to ask a witness a question if you knew they were gonna lie?

Jose says he knew casey had done the search for chloroform.. they had talked about it..
and that he knew cindy would say she did it. as she did in her depo..
so he called her to the stand and asked if about it.. ,knowing she would lie..
He says he did this to show she lies and to set linda B up.
I thought that was illegal??

can you give an exact quote and page #.
I don't own the book but for those that do have the book, for any media reading here, for any talk show thinking of having JB on And for any member of P12 that reads here.

Amazon is making me work to look up the stats on Presumed...no longer on the first page when you pull up Books.

Stats listed at 188/6 so again with the numbers fiddle - but the good thing is I discovered is Tana French has a new book out....:woohoo:

It's ALL drivel. Just posting info. I never claimed it to be of any value....:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

Geez - couldn't you have posted a "parental warning" first????:floorlaugh: I figured if you posted it - it must be worth listening to but....:what: ....:banghead:

Subornation Of Perjury:

The crime of encouraging, inducing, or assisting another in the commission of perjury, which is knowingly telling an untruth under oath.

http://www.nolo.com/dictionary/subornation-of-perjury-term.html

And this from dictionary.com:

subornation of perjury

noun
(law) inducing someone to make a false oath as part of a judicial proceeding; "to prove subordination of perjury you must prove the perjury and also prove that the perjured statement was procured by the accused suborner who knew that it would be false"

Baez probably felt it was worth the risk to take - assisting CA to commit perjury to raise doubt with this jury....in a sense throwing CA under the bus along with all the folks she threw under there....
Kind of funny actually...:waitasec: ...no, not really - just speaks to how low he'd go...

Ok Ill try lol..
I have a kindle so no actual page numbers..

at Location 4153 (53%thru the book) chapter 16 named *the Prosecution's evidence was garbage"

Jose says.. "Casey who was twenty_two at the tie, told me she had no idea in the world what chloroform was, but after seeing her boyfriends post about chloroform, she searched onine for chloroform to find out what Morales was talking about"

In chaper 30 "destroying the fantasy"
He starts at location 6864
He talks about calling cindy to the stand.
he stated
*this is a perfect opportunity for me to do two things: one continue to cast reasonable doubt on these searchs: and two get linda Burdick to attack her best witness cindy.

*** we got cindy up on the stand and cindy testified she had made the searches**

He did this knowing that cindy would like .. he talked about knowing in her depo she had claimed to be the one that made the searches...

I just cant see how this is legal.

Man, I feel like I got punched in the stomach. Better take an extra dose of my BP meds.
Most of the carp in his book confirms what I already thought about him and Cindy/Casey. That lie on the witness stand, IMO, probably has a direct affect on the result of the trial. :maddening:

Thank you for reporting this stuff, I don't think I could stomach reading his book.

I posted a question in the legal thread.. As i would think the fla. bar would have something to say about this...
I have always thought it was illegal.. I hope someone calls him on the carpet for it.

Sounds like it fits to me. Too bad nothing will be done about it.

Ya know...it looks to me like in any court proceeding the laws allow the defense to run pretty much unbridled, while the prosecution is required to toe the line. IOW, the rules are very different for each side. It is procedure all over the country in all kinds of cases and the state has little recourse unless they level charges against someone. Otherwise procedure is successfully challenged only when an appeals court finds that the prosecution or the judge acted improperly.

The Bar will not care. Particularly the Florida Bar.

IMO.

ETA: In thinking about this more, it occurred to me that it is not necessarily that it is written in law that one side must behave better than the other in court. It may be that judges are harder on prosecutors than they are on defense attorneys, knowing that anything a prosecutor does that looks the least bit out of line may be grounds for appeal. Since the prosecution cannot appeal a verdict there is little chance that bad behavior by the defense will matter after the fact. Unless a defense attorney has done something illegal that can be proven, that is.

Well, looks like the paid help for bellajosebooks finally de-throned my review from most useful, but dare I say that the new most useful is a fellow websleuther? Sure sounds like one of us! So, what did they win? LMAO
