I just went and looked-I got one too. It looks legit to me.

I can tell you without looking it up that the FBI will not pursue charges due to a petition drive. They will make their decision on evidence.

LOL - is that you giving me the oxygen? :floorlaugh:

Seriously - CA may invite them - but IMO - Lee Anthony will not want them there - even if they would pay him. I just don't think so - I got the feeling after his complete breakdown after his testimony - after he had left the courtroom and not hearing or seeing anything of him since means he has pretty much had it with his family.

Ya think?!:fence: about that, call me  but I think he's in contact with FCA...MOO

I'd be willing to bet a paycheck we NEVER see this....... If a federal suit was to be brought, we'd have seen it, MOO, anyone out there know of a case where charges were brought years or months down the line?

According to my twitter feed today, the Ward jury is asking all sorts of questions. They wanted a yardstick to see how far 18" from your face would be..they asked the judge a clarifying question and I see they've just asked another question. All today, the first day of deliberation. Go figure.

I'd bet money on that one that he is not - big time! I think he hates her! Remember - everything Lee says is said as sarcasm...

A Florida jury asking questions, and to see evidence? I'm shocked! I still say the Pinellas 12 were an anomaly, and something hinky was going on.

Never mind, I found it.

IMO

Isn't this the guy who is always filing those whacko suits that never go anywhere? We saw quite a few of them at the end of the trial. I wish I wasn't so lazy - i would go back and see what his name is....

Yes, in a civil rights-era case. James Ford Seale was arrested for three murders in 1964, but the charges were dropped. 36 years later, a newspaper reporter determined that the murder took place in a national forest, which gave the U.S. Justice Department jurisdiction. You'll find more details in the middle part of this article:

I bet we'll never see it either, but it's been less than three months since KC's acquittal. We don't know if the feds have anything up their sleeve. What a nice surprise it would be if they slapped the cuffs on her.

Too bad the land wasn't used for interstate commerce...or received Federal funds to be maintained. If it was on Native American land...perhaps they could re-try her. OK...I'm desperate to see justice come for dear Caylee. I know Casey will outlive me so I won't be able to finally know the earth is rid of her.

It had a link to whitehouse.gov. I know nothing of this group "We the People". Do you mind if I ask, but how do you know the government wouldn't address it? I have my own feelings about it...but I had to go straight to the horse's mouth (so to speak) to get input.

You didn't mention the WH part of it in your first post, only change.org and part of a sentence about the petition going directly to Washington, D.C. That part of the email is misleading if the reader doesn't understand what 'We the People' is; the email makes it sound like the petition-creator has gotten an assurance that 'they' will address this specific issue, when all it really means is that the petition is on the WH's site.

Regardless... 'We the People' is the White House's new petition section of its site. It's a communication tool to hear from Americans about issues that really matter to them. I suppose Casey Anthony is very important to some folks, but I think using the We the People function this way is a complete waste of time; the Dept of Justice isn't going to go after someone who has been acquitted based on a petition there or anywhere else.

Anybody can start a petition there, and staffers will respond to those that get 5000+ signatures. I expect a generic reply, something along the lines of 'We understand that many people have expressed their disagreement with the verdict in that case... 'and then they'll go on about the justice system and law enforcement blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda etc. etc. etc., with the end result being that they read the petition and filed it away. If that counts as addressing the issue for some people, then I hope they feel they have accomplished something by signing the petition. The WH isn't going to take action based on this petition, which is why I think it's meaningless; it's an 'issue' that isn't even theirs to act on, really.

It boggles my mind that anybody would want the White House to spend any time on Casey Anthony. With everything else going on in the world?

Hell, I'd be willing to go dig up a couple of American Indian graves and place the contents in that swamp! And for the record, my great grandmother was 100% Cherokee and I am a flaming liberal!~

Snipped by me... I see where you are coming from, but if it were my child murdered, I'd want the white house to spend some time on it... I can see your frustration, but a child lost her life and will never see justice, it matters to many... Just :twocents:

Well, well! Lookee what Cherishtoo has just posted in This Weeks News!

Methinks the fur may fly on this panel !!!!! I'd pay a $100 to witness this event....:great:
Just goes to prove what a sham it was. Be interesting to see who gives the lesson and if anyone learns it

Slewing just slightly off the topic of your great post strawberry but this is such a sad, sad reflection of today's society and education standards.
In this technological age is nobody required, or even expected to think for themselves anymore?
Social media, internet, video games et al all have so much to answer for. They have taken away the necessity to make any sort of deduction or decision, including those which may affect or impact on someone else's life.
How can 12 people between them not be able to calculate how long 18" is? Maybe there was no calculator at hand (or the ruler they have is only 12" long)
The world's turning on its head and everything's being handed to us on a platter (and if it's not, we expect it to be) - surely it's time to get back to being normal, logical thinking humans with at least an ounce of commonsense.
I'm sure most on this board would immediately be able to show another how long a yard is ... and some of us live in a country which has been using the metric system for the past 35 years.
Brains - God must be wondering in 2011 why he bothered giving them to us.
