Ditto my uncle in the AirForce during the war. He was on a plane that crashed somewhere not to be identified. RC rescued him and sent him a whopping bill he could never afford to pay.

That is terrible.

Yeah, my parents told me that they asked for the RC's help to try to locate missing relatives in Russia when WWII ended...and they did nothing.

Actually the German and American Red Cross helped me find my uncle (my father's brother) who died in Berlin, April of 1945. He was fighting with the Latvian Legionaries (yes, with the Nazis-illegally drafted). They told me they couldn't really say if he died in Berlin or was captured by the Soviets, as there no documentation after he was shipped off to Berlin. They had nothing from the Soviets as of yet. Still waiting to 'see' if the Russians will open more documentation from the war.

Maybe you should try again, as more documentation has been opened up with Germany and Russia.

Is anyone else looking for some "news" or pics of KC to be released now that the Martin case is in jury selection and capturing all of the attention? We have seen a pattern emerge from her camp whenever someone else was stealing her thunder. Let's see if it happens again.

On the "front page" of WS, they list the birthdays and Websleuth anniversaries that day. I usually forget to check, though. :)

So sorry about your ankle. :( Must hurt like heck.

The Birthdays are listed at the bottom of the very first page of "Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community" under the heading - "what's going on"

There are Birthdays - like this:Today's Birthdays

Thank you Tulessa - you have a BIG heart and I appreciate your words - and love you back. As Kermit the Frog says - "itls not easy being green"..so your understanding is important to me.

I have another saying - :floorlaugh: when in pain - take lots of drugs - you can use "stoic" with a lot of other things in life besides this!

OH-BOY!.......

A couple of days ago I was complaining about the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation donation collections and how less than 10% of the monies actually makes it to research....

Then I see this on CNN....

http://www.cnn.com/2013/06/13/us/worst-charities/index.html?hpt=hp_c3

Quote:(CNN) -- The worst charity in America operates from a metal warehouse behind a gas station in Holiday, Florida.

Every year, Kids Wish Network raises millions of dollars in donations in the name of dying children and their families.

Every year, it spends less than 3 cents on the dollar helping kids.(end of quote)

This is not intended as a country to country comparison, because if it's happening there, it's happening here.

But how does this happen? Where is the government legislation in all of this.....:furious:

I saw this artical too on CNN. I was thinking WOW, we were just discussing this topic the other day here. People need to know this. It make's me wonder how many of these "charities" were set up just for tax write off's.
This is the reason I say if you really want to help """"real people in need """" do it yourself. No middle man to take an "inflated wage" from your hard earned dollar's and you know the person/people are truely being helped.
