OH-BOY!.......

A couple of days ago I was complaining about the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation donation collections and how less than 10% of the monies actually makes it to research....

Then I see this on CNN....

http://www.cnn.com/2013/06/13/us/worst-charities/index.html?hpt=hp_c3

Quote:(CNN) -- The worst charity in America operates from a metal warehouse behind a gas station in Holiday, Florida.

Every year, Kids Wish Network raises millions of dollars in donations in the name of dying children and their families.

Every year, it spends less than 3 cents on the dollar helping kids.(end of quote)

This is not intended as a country to country comparison, because if it's happening there, it's happening here.

But how does this happen? Where is the government legislation in all of this.....:furious:

Part of the blames lies with people who donate without investigating. More blames lies with the agencies who are supposed to monitor the charities. Some of the reasons for the above is that people have developed a lackadasical attitude toward life/work in general. As long as they receive a paycheck, doesn't matter what others do.

I wonder where CayleesFund would have ranked? It was so low on the totem pole that noone really cares. What's a mere $600,000 when billions are being mispent.

Thank you Tulessa - you have a BIG heart and I appreciate your words - and love you back. As Kermit the Frog says - "itls not easy being green"..so your understanding is important to me.

I have another saying - :floorlaugh: when in pain - take lots of drugs - you can use "stoic" with a lot of other things in life besides this!

Normal sized heart, I just know a good person when I meet one. :)

Just logged in long enough to catch up! Going back to bed! Love all of you dearly! You're ALL family!

I hope the meds are keeping the pain down.
Take care of yourself.
We need you.

Hoping that all is okay with Wolf mom. I have noticed she has been missing from posting in the light a candle thread.

Wolf mom we will keep the candle lit for Caylee for you while you are away.

God bless .

Whats his name spoke at the Arkansas Bar Association’s 115th Annual Meeting - with "hundreds" in attendance.

From the article - The best advice Baez said he could give for attorneys in such high- profile cases is to hire an ethics counsel. Baez said everything he and his team did in the Anthony trial was included by professor Tim Chinaris, who has an extensive background in ethics, law and education.

I'd be interested in seeing Tim Chinaris asked directly if he advised the circus

master on trial ethics. I'd be more convinced that he scanned a book that

Chinaris wrote and re-purposed the words, if that. Ethics and Baez don't

even belong in the same paragraph. How desperate for speakers the

Arkansas Bar Association must be! Baez and Ethics. Yeah, right.

IIRC
Baez did look into Ethics as early as July/August 2008 and sent an inquiry to the Central Florida Association of Criminal Lawyers during the time Richard Hornsby was either Vice President or President

Also, IIRC,
Chinaris helped Baez out with his Florida Bar complaints/investigation..the one with Todd Black/Gil Cabot and Press Corp Media comes to mind.
Baez hired Press Corp Media as his PR firm in 2008 and iirc it was Baez's wife's telephone number that was used as the main contact...

IMO, if JB hadn't been skating too close to the edge of the law in the first place, he wouldn't have needed to consult an ethics adviser.

I think he didn't even worry about what he was doing with this new hot potato that landed in his lap. He only saw the dollar signs in his eyes. At the very beginning, there were questions about how and when FCA actually contacted JB and the selling of the pictures of Caylee was wrong from the get go.

I agree. The only reason he would need an ethics adviser would be to

tell him how much he could get away with .

also, Attorney Chinaris was listed as a Creditor on FCA's bankruptcy filing ....

Thanks, ThinkTank!
Why would he be listed?
Did FCA sign some kind of agreement along with JB?
Were FCA and JB in this together from the start?
But then, we all know the answer to that - YES!

Hearing scheduled in Florida next week

ORLANDO, Fla. -Local 6 uncovered a new memo filed in the Casey Anthony bankruptcy case in which her attorney suggests that Anthony may have to "disappear" if she's forced to go to trial.

The memo, which shows how frustrated Anthony is with the ongoing court battle, says if Roy Kronk and Zenaida Gonzalez are permitted to take Anthony to trial, Anthony "will be forced to find new accommodations, or just simply disappear and say it is not worth the fight anymore."

A hearing is scheduled on the matter next week in a federal court in Tampa.

Sandra has been in the hospital since Saturday. It's so important for us to keep Caylee's candle lit for her. I told her to take care of herself , and we would keep her bright candle burning. :)

Now this article make me laugh out loud!!

Can't you see the Bar Association Annual Meeting Committee sitting around saying - Okay - we need someone to speak on how to protect yourself from being sued for ethics mis-steps. Who do know who is really unethical who has managed to dodge the bullets on this one?

Oh right - of course - Jose Baez.....hello Jose????:seeya:

Of course - it has to be high drama to get any one to look away from the Zimmerman trial that is still in long drawn out jury selection...thanks for the article.

Now here's someone who wishes she wasn't so hidden away......

She should also hold her breath when she disappears. That's what a lot of "kids" do when they are throwing a temper tatrum!

I wonder how the BK trustees and Judges take threats.

Big Whoop - there goes her discharge and she has to start all over again, plus have her creditors search for her.

IMo it was just a silly thing to say when they are on the other hand pleading for her "fresh start"......

If she can face her own criminal trial, she should attend her own bankruptcy trial. Talk about a temper tantrum.

Legal pundits are talking about how bizarre to even request someone turn over work product like her life story before it has even been produced. I kinda think that is not going to happen. What if they came to some agreement that IF she ever does sell anything like her story in the future she would agree to reserve X dollars for her creditors?

My guess is she will get away scott free as usual and make out like the bandit she is with a multi million dollar deal as all of this hoopla will only increase her value-sadly :-(
