Yes, I was aware of the body in the trunk being found. I was waiting to see what they came up with on that one.

Good idea about checking out the wrecks etc., but surely LE would piece it together if one involved a similar truck and/or with a guy that looked like him involved.

Don't forget how they caught Timothy McVeigh. Driving along with no tag and he was in custody! LE across the state have this POI on high priority. They are actively looking every where every day for that truck and for him.

Goodnight all, and pray and hope tomorrow brings an arrest of the SOB that did this.

The OSBI (Rosser) says meth is not a big problem in THAT AREA - I would assume he'd know and if it was, he'd be saying it might be meth/drug related. HE does NOT, in fact he plays that aspect down.

Skyla's GPA (bless his heart) seems to be the type who would have blamed long-haired hippies smoking pot for all the bad things in the world in the 60's. I am sure he believes that there is a huge drug problem - but I betcha he has never seen any evidence of it himself. What he is saying sounds like something he has concluded after talking to his buddies in the local barbershop (all men of a similar age and viewpoint)- not from data, facts or even personal experience. Local people I am in contact with do NOT agree that there are drug users lying passed out on every road and meth houses on every corner and they are certainly NOT arming their little sons with "knives" so they can protect themselves against anononymous "bad guys" roaming the area. They are NOT afraid or living in fear because of a "drug problem" and they have not noticed any increase in crime (other than the occasional petty theft) either.

One grieving GPa and one militia sounding local do not, IMO, a local drug problem make - especially when the OSBI is openly and publicly saying that is NOT IT and they are taking the investigation in a totally different direction. The people in the area are upset and angry - they are reacting in ways grieving and angry people do, looking for any "scourge of society" to blame for this horrible crime in their backyard. Sadly, this makes no sense and there is nothing specific to blame this on. I mean I'd love to blame my stocks being in the toilet right now on GW Bush, but the reality is it's not his fault personally - the real blame is far more complicated and complex than one person - even a powerful person. Finding the killer(s) (and the motive) in this case are way more complicated and complex than Skyla's GPA's perceived "meth/drug problem" in Okfuskee County.

My Opinion

Also, the lack of violent crime in the area, including homicide, pretty much tells you it's not a drug haven.
Where there is heavy drug use/dealing, there is alway a ton of crime, and especially violent crime.

Oklahoma doesn't list vehicles that way. There is absolutely no way to track down every white Ford or Chevy pickup! LE can't even pull up a vehicle by the owner's name here. Only the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), the Title number, or the tag number will get you into the database used by the DMV to find the information on a particular vehicle.

I'm sure the Tag Bureau has the color, model and make of every car that is licensed in their county and there is probably a way to sort by model, color, age or whatever.

I come from there... grew up there. I know better. And the lack of crime is cuz when there are homicides, seems like they usually get blotched up and left as accidents. not JMO.. its what i have seen for years and years and years:eek:

vehicles are registered with The Department of Motor Vehicles in Oklahoma City, OK.

Color is not ever listed on the database. The ONLY database we have is through the network system of the Department of Motor Vehicles (in OKC as Frog mentioned with satellite offices all over the state known as Tag Agents) and the only way to search it is with what I said before. There isn't another database when it comes to vehicles registered in the state. This is the same database used by LE, OSBI, and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Where I grew up is a drug haven, in particular for Meth, and there is little violent crime. So this theory doesn't work for me. When you are talking about locals making and selling drugs, they aren't going to kill the guy they grew up with over a sale gone wrong. In the cities, it is a different story with the gangs being involved. They would shoot their own grandmother in the face for ten bucks and her car keys.

But they'd do it if they got caught, and 2 little girls could tell on 'em, and that would put them back in prison. Remember, alot of people from down in that area have already been in the prison system, and I'm not talking about just city or county jail.

Color, vehicles get re-painted, who sorts a database by color

What do you think, then? A non-local interacting with a local over a deal, and somehow the girls accidentally got in the way? I agree that there's a big difference in small-time drug use and sales vs. big city sales. It certainly seems a lot of people in the area have been jailed, and everyone knows that jails don't reform. They just make better criminals.

do you mind if I ask where you grew up, SS? You said you are a fellow Okie, right?

While anything is possible, I still don't think the person/persons who did this are locals. They may have dealings with people who are local tho and those people need to come forward. However, since I think those people are up to their necks in other things...it is doubtful they will snitch. Not to mention, they risk death if they do.

Well, makes me a little leery to say, but kinda, ya, I kinda see it could have happened that way. Anyone remember this Creech guy? Last I heard he was being watched. But seems no one in here has gone very far with that. Or maybe they did before I joined WS. If so. Sry. BUt I still have him on my mind, big time!

Do you work for the Oklahoma DMV? I'm just trying to grasp for anything that might lead to a clue in this case.

I can see your point. But I feel like it was locals. I feel it in my bones. but that is JMO

Frog, I believe it was locals, too. And I believe it was someone the girls knew.

There isn't anything there that would help LE at this point without a tag number. I would hope they try a hypno-therapist to try to get the number from the witnesses. It is their only shot right now to ID the POI, imo. (I am just familiar with their databases from past experience.)

Or someone the girls knew was with them. And is scared to death to talk. Or called in the description of a truck and person who may be the person they were with. Or maybe the description of a truck and person that would throw LE off track. I have always believed it was something like the above. But again. jmo
