I bet your right on the order due to the ages, I didnt think about that good catch. I was thinking adoptive because in the obit there is this line
adoptive grandparents, Bill and Sharon Whitaker, of Baxter Springs,

My guess is that Skyla's mom was first married to Gordon, since Edward and Rosita are older then Skyla, then married to Getman, who would be Skyla's bio dad, and then to Whitaker. As for Skyla having the last name of Whitaker, I grew up in a very small town and had friends that the parents were divorced. The mom remarried and the kids took the new married name even though they were never officially adopted by the step-dad.

Certainly a murder trial where one of the murdered girl's brother is ready to be a witness for the state against his friend, is a very interesting lead...very interesting.
It might not have anything to do with Skyla and Taylor, but you never know.

That would be interesting to know. As I read about that case today I almost dropped my teeth (and yes, they are all my original teeth) when I read that the victim of this terrible crime was from a town not too far away from me here in Georgia.

I was looking at where the hair is "pony tailed" at (for lack of a better description), and was wondering if that might be unique to a certain ethnic group?

A black baseball cap. Most have logos on them. I wonder what city around the area might have black as part of it's colors (HS football team). I know it is just as likely a cap bought off the shelf or perhaps given as a freeby by a salesman perhaps.

Something worth considering.

But then, where do the other so called witnesses come into play here? Were they also all females? Or did they see no truck, but saw the POI?

I really wouldn't think so but they did the composite off of the first witness' memory it seems then others were found after then but the other witnesses may have seen him in other areas of that road.(Like maybe up around the bridge area or going the other way from when the first witness saw him) He may have been on the road driving when they saw him. We just don't know.

Your right that we don't know where the witnesses saw him, or which witnesses just saw him, and which witnesses saw him and the truck. I was just responding to your post about the truck being a Chevy or a Ford.

As far as a "faded out black", then why doesn't LE say "faded out black" or even gray which is what happens when white ix mixed with black.

Your cap that you just posted looked green to me.

And yes it does have a nice big T on the front.

I would think with the descripton of the POI being so exact, (In fact one of the better ones I've seen), that if the cap had a logo or anything on it, it would also have been described by any of the witnesses.

Hair band from walmart would be my guess at what he had holding his hair back. Most likely he would be creek Indian since that what is from that area.

I am a longtime reader, lurker of Websleuths. First time poster~
These are a few thoughts that I have had while reading all the previous posts.

1. I do think the POI wore long sleeves deliberately. Assuming he is of Native American heritage, the sun is not a great concern for their skin tone. I believe he was wearing long sleeves to hide tatoos, scars, etc...........

He does not have to have a reason to wear long sleeve shirt. My father and father-in-law both wear long sleeve shirts year around no matter how hot it gets. They dont wear shorts either. They both get up in the morning and get dressed long sleeve shirt and wrangle blue jeans sneaker or work boots. They never set around in boxer and t-shirts (neither one own any boxer, sweats, or t-shirts.) I ask if they ever get hot and they they say no. If I see truck stoped in the middle of a dirt road in the middle of no where I would have just thought he stoped to take pee.

True, I am sure there are men that wear long sleeve shirts only. So, that is a good point. We are just questioning because of the heat, possible tattoos being hidden, track marks from drugs, etc.

I am wondering if you would have thought the man was just taking a pee, (as you say) if his truck was half as** out in the road and you had to go around the vehicle to continue?

If the vehicle had been pulled over on the side of the road, no doubt I would have thought the same.
I would think that you would have found that suspicious???

Regarding Edward Gordon on trial. I have found nothing substantial that ties him to the Whitaker family. Maybe someone else will have more luck. And as far as the Whitaker family the only information I have found was from the obituaries. Havent stopped looking yet though.

I really think if there was a connection the local media (if not the national) would have picked up on by now.

Thanks, sweetheart for the notation on Creek Indians. I had read somewhere there is a tribe of Arapaho in Ok. Those teen girls killed in Cheyenne were Arapaho also. i haven't been able to find any more info on their case.
We live in Florida and you see long sleeve shirts all year round. Some on guys who work in a.c. and others just for their own reasons. I don't think the shirt is unusual.
I do think the POI is on a reservation someplace and i bet LE in looking there.
