SM as a potential focus of the investigation

If we knew ahead of time that we were taking our child out of school for a full day, we had the teacher fill out a prearranged form that listed what was going on in class so we could keep them up to date.

I don't remember ever doing that when I was just taking my child to a doctor's appt. though.

There hasn't been anything released in the media that he had ADD.

Yep,besides the fact it's not her first year teaching.I really feel sorry for her,because I'm sure she's felt horrible,laying awake every night going over and over that morning.Trying to figure out,was she wrong about the appt,should she have went to look for Kyron,what could have been done differently.When in reality,she's possibly been set up to take the blame.

wow. that article is a good one.

"Horman told Finster that the child's teacher was new, in her first year of teaching, and was hard of hearing in one ear. "She doesn't know if she understood her," "

setting up to push blame on the teacher?

It sounds like it to me. Boy, I'd be angry when I read that, if I were the teacher. That article makes it sound like SM thinks the teacher is young, dumb, and deaf. It does not respect the teacher's credibility at all. If I were the teacher, I'd call the police and heartily reiterate whatever it was I had told them, just in self-defense. I'm mouthy that way.

I wonder whose side that friend is on, assuming SM didn't collude with her to provide the interview. I wouldn't want people to know I had to take a second polygraph. The remark about the teacher smacks of an excuse at the teacher's expense, but what does it matter if Kyron is not returning to her class?

First posting, so I hope I'm doing this correctly.

From a theoretical perspective, a Dr.'s appointment *actually* scheduled for June 11th could be considered part of a potential alibi by a parent.

IMHO

Sorry if I wasn't clear, that was my point! If LE checks and there wasn't one scheduled, step-mom definitely has some explaining to do. If there was one, well then she was being truthful about the appointment, which in turn gives credit to her story.

ETA: Welcome to WS! :)

Jaymie Finster, a longtime friend, said Horman is "tired and frustrated with the intensity of the questioning she's been getting."

Finster said Horman was very down. "She's exhausted. She said I don't understand why they keep asking me stuff. They want me to take the polygraph again. It doesn't make sense because I didn't do anything."
This makes me think she's not lawyered up yet.
I wonder where she was that day.

First: This makes me think she has not lawyered up yet.

Second: This is a friend?

Third: She sounds a bit Misty-like in the 2nd paragraph. But it's hearsay - and - if accurate - an expression of frustration more than uncooperativeness.

Fourth: They are asking questions with intensity, and it frustrates her. Well, they should, so that's good. But they must feel they still have questions - with a LDT scheduled for Saturday ... that makes me think she's having a hard time with some questions. Plus, she's frustrated. (Again, friends don't say stuff like that to the press. Kind of strange, if you ask me.)

I wish this wasn't a hearsay interview from a "friend". If it was an LE report, it would mean a lot.

The flyer and the truck are still weird to me...

Keen observation! Welcome to the board. :wave: Love the handle.

I wonder if that is where she went today? To take a Poly and it was inconclusive maybe so they want her to do it again.

It said she's to take the LD test tomoz, Sat.
She probably went somewhere like grocery shopping today or to work out as her body is used to that, right? She does that on a regular basis is what I gathered.

It's possible that Terri was lying to her friend about the polygraph. She may have told her she passed a polygraph so she doesn't understand why she'd have to take another one, even though she may have not taken a polygraph yet.
The whole teacher story is a really awkward lie, IMO.
Terri may just be trying to stave off her friend's suspicions for the time being. If her friend buys what she's selling, the friend may think she's doing her a favor coming out with this info. If the friend doesn't believe Terri, she's got some serious passive-aggressive thing going.

ok....now i think im confused.....is TM her name and SM for step mom?....I thought I was posting wrong....i was going to go back and change it...now i think they are the same and some posters are posting TM and some SM....is that right?

it took me for ever to get use to ICA :biggrin: from another case

please set me straight

IMO this article is important in that it shows one of TH's recounts of the day to be very suspect. The "appointment" - first it was shouted across the gym to the teacher and it was for the following Monday, now - she gave the teacher paperwork and it was for the next Friday.

Then we have her making a clearly false statement concerning the teacher - It's her first year. Clearly TH knew this wasn't true - she had volunteered in that classroom FSG!!!! TH came up with this after being cornered about the "appointment" comment.

One two many "stories" for me - remember, the truth doesn't change!!!!!

ITA, it could be passive-agressive STEADFAST. Reading that article it said to me she has already taken a LD test, now taking a 2nd one. If one passed the first LD test, would LE make one take a 2nd test? I don't think so. WHY?

If the teacher last saw TM with Kyron at 8:15 and they've discounted the 8:45 sighting by the little friend, then wouldn't that add lots more time that Kryon was never seen without SM by anyone? He would have had to be abducted by a stranger almost immediately after she left.

Also: If Terri needed the paperwork for a Monday appt. then she would need to pick it up from the teacher at least on Friday to be prepared.

I'm not sure how much of a friend this is,but how she's making it appear in the article,there was alot of premeditation going on beforehand. I don't know if LE wanted her to speak,but I hope they interviewed this friend beforehand.

I know articles can be edited to look certain ways, and I have been misquoted before.
BUT
did any part of the article have the friend saying that Terri was distraught, heartbroken, terrified for Kyron?

SM = stepmom
TM = T. Moulton
TH = T. Horman

I've seen all three used. I've been using TH

If there was one, well then she was being truthful about the appointment, which in turn gives credit to her story.

I'm not sure about that. SM could be truthful about the appointment and still be lying about what she said to the teacher and the circumstances surrounding that communication. It would be a she said/she said situation, unless there were witnesses who heard the exchange. Geez, even then the witnesses could disagree about its content.

What a tangled web we weave... if that is the case.
IMO.

Different questions?

IMO, Terri wanted her side of the story out there. She had a friend speak to the media because for whatever reason she didn't want to talk to them directly.

I doubt her friend would have given her full name and such an in-depth interview without Terri's knowledge. Her friend appears to be very defensive of Terri's story.

I totally agree. The friend could have given this interview in all sincerity, trying to give Terri's side as a beleaguered, overwhelmed mom. The problem is that there is nothing in this article that suggests Terri is concerned about KYRON's whereabouts!!

Correctomundo TakeNote, :blowkiss: It is too bad that SM term took over on the forums which kind of removes her in a way from the motherhood of Kyron, A technicality for sure, as she did raise him from babyhood. I think the media started that to make things more understandable, don't know, but it stuck.
