So... where is Lee?

On another Lee subject, I read in the docs, part 5, page 34, about checks that KC had cashed at Amscot. Well, there was one from Lee that was cashed on 1/17/08. The check was a joint account, with Lee and a Ruth I. Any clue what happened there? Is Lee divorced? I haven't heard of Ruth....

Two things...

I destroyed a key I had just gotten at the hardware store. I bought a can of spray paint, and a spare car key. Got home, took the curtain rods to the backyard, with a dropcloth, ready to paint the rods. Couldn't open the can of paint, so I used the key, because I had it right in my pocket.......snap!

I think that 'reach out' is used by folks in a 12 step program quite often. I guess if you are going to drink, (or whatever program you are in) you are supposed to 'reach out' to your sponser....

I don't know if my theory is correct, but I've noticed 12 steppers to use that term. I hope this makes sense.

I think that's Grandpa Lee, not the bro. (On George's side)

"Reaching out" is also a big "cop phrase." Watch old repeats of NYPD Blue and you will hear all the suspects they "reach out to." I have to think Lee either heard this as a child from George or (and I'm leaning towards this) he takes his pseudo investigator role, early on in this case, way too seriously.

Rats! Thanks. I was gonna go off on a sleuthing tangent. Thanks for saving me from that! But, hey, I don't remember hearing those names anywhere else, either, btw. Seems we don't hear much about any of the extended family, except for Rick.

These people! They constantly say "reached out". Everyone "reaches out" to everyone else. Umm does this mean "she spoke to me"? Grrrr.

YES. AL did in fact drive KC to her stranded car in a subdivision near her home on the 23rd after he broke into the family's shed to help her steal the gas cans. We do not know where that subdivision is located however.

Why couldn't KC just say, "Dad, I ran out of gas last night, my friend came with me and got the cans from you and I am bringing them back now." OH, that's right, she was in Tampa or was it Jacksonville that day!

She can bilocate. Great.

And Tony was the one who took a crow bar to the lock on the storage building according to his statement.

Bold by me....LOLOLOL very good point!! Lee, LE wannabe

Bilocate. Gotta love it!

I wondered about that check too?? Maybe this LEE A. is a realative that LA is named after? Usually when a check is given as a gift, it is b/c it's mailed to them. I don't recall the addy on the check. I just don't think LA would write her a check as a gift, if anything he would have just given her the cash. Not to mention, why would he want her to see his checking account number.. He knew better!

ETA-Sorry, I should have read the whole thread before "reaching out" LOL! What's with the *reaching out* thing too?

Oh thank you, thank you, thank you, Pondering! I thought I was the only one who had a gag reflex everytime Cindy "reached out" instead of "called," "contacted," etc. :puke:

When Cindy uses that term, I instantly invision a pair of long arms stretching tenderly toward her target, and then grabbing him his shoulders and yanking him out of his shoes so he's nose to nose with her, defenseless, captured, obedient.

Sorry. I have a really vivid imagination. :HBwhiteflag:

You know you can mail a key, pick up a key, throw it in the trash, hide it under you mat key, & possibly mangle the key, and it's not a car key but an apartment key? So if it's to the old place that she (Amy) lived, he would have thrown it away. Hopefully smashed it. What kind of key would it be?

They both IDd it as the key to Amy's car that Casey had just been driving.

It strikes many of us as odd that anyone would destroy a car key without waiting to talk to the owner of the key. Why not just return it to her?

Was it a key to something Lee and Amy did not want LE to know about?

I don't know what kind of key it was if it wasn't the key to Amy's car. That's why I added IMO. I'd like to hear Lee's explanation for destroying the key before he asked Amy what she wanted done. It wasn't his property. Why would he destroy it or think that she wanted it destroyed.

He was way ahead of her ... but I'm way behind ... 'cause I just don't get it.

It's somewhere in one of the threads--also the town isn't nearby to Orlando.

Sidenote, doncha wonder why the family would allow their relatives to send KC checks, given her propensity to use routing numbers and gosh knows what all else?

I think he was saying "destroy" as in gone, KC will never see it or have it again.... Just think, KC stole Amy's checks from her car.. He probably just threw the key away. I think it is as simple as that. He just used the word out of context.

But why not just return it to Amy? Why throw away her extra key?

I don't care about the word destroy that much. I just don't understand why he didn't ask Amy what she wanted done before taking it upon himself to throw it away in whatever manner he did.

It would make them have to admit to Casey's actions out in the open. They probably would have been asked why they don't do anything about it. Then Cindy would have to "make up a story" about what happened and so on and so on..... That's how I see them handling things with Casey, "Making up stories" to hide her obvious problems. Cindy probably had to "make up stories" to cover for George's problems a lot too. That might be why Casey is so good doing it to her mother and her friends.

And when I say "make up stories" I me lie.

If I were family, which, take God I'm not, I'd be reluctant to send her a money order!

He could just be saying this so he could destroy his own key that KC had. IMO>

Key=Evidence=Destroyed....Caylee, KC clothes, etc.
