In a mass disaster one of two things will happen. Some people will be incredibly brave and generous. Or they will use the disaster to try to profit from it in some way. Stay safe.

Sadly, there have already been some looters taking advantage of the kindness of others. People are stealing the supplies for the folks at Qualcomm stadium.

JBean it doesn't seem like you were gone that long. How many miles is that? (And I am so glad you are back home) BTW, did you happen to take any pics while you were out?

OH no I live at the farthest point north of San Clemente and we went to the farthest point south in San Clemente. We went up to Dana Point first to get a good vantage point and see where the fire was.

See where the 5 freeway takes a sharp right turn? That is about where I live. You can see that San Clemente stands between me and Camp Pendleton.

My son is on the phone. He said it looks like the fire is our backyard !where is it? lol..I said we have already checked it out and it is at Pendlton. He is shocked because it looks like it is right behind my house.

It is very strange. From our vantage point in Dana POint it looked like San Clemente was on fire. But it is defintiely Pendleton and that fire must be really big.

Those photos are so scary, I pray and hope that no lives are lost and they are able to get these huge fire under control, my prayers to everyone affected.

They interviewed one of the pilots that flew a helicopter, dropping water, today at Pendleton. The fires must have come back up, as he indicated he/they were successfully controlling the fires earlier today.

I saw the copters flying back and forth over my house. The news just reported that it is out of control. I hope it doesn't get to the nuclear plant at San Onofre. Just down the road a piece.

Me and Sheriff Joe don't put up with any crap. It's shoot first and ask questions later. Some of our prisoners occasionally get killed trying to escape. After we show the other prisoners how easily that happens, we hardly even need to lock their cells.
