Something big happened in this case yesterday. 8-14-08

Hi all,
I noticed that someone in this forum said they worked for a court house or something so I have a question for them. On myorlangeclerk.com, under the name search, what does it mean if the middle name is listed as "OBO". I was doing searches for everyone that was involved in this case. I searched for Zenaida Gonzalez and there was one with "OBO" listed as the middle name. Then, I looked up Julie Lewis, and one Juliet "OBO" Lewis came up.... I know this cannot be a real middle name. I mean, what mean person would name their child after a wooden instrument?

I think it would mean "on behalf of" in that instance.
BTW:), here's a handy acronym dictionary:

Hall pled guilty to all charges at the last hearing. Hall's attorney's took the case pro-bono and their goal was to keep Hall off death row (Luke, a poster here, figured out the DP issue and the defense), which they did. Lots of politics, lots of drama in that case, a DA that wasn't experienced and about blew it because he failed to fill out the paperwork for the upgrade of charges correctly and other mistakes. The Smith family is very lucky the case ended as it did. There was no doubt that Hall kidnapped and killed Kelsey.

In the plea, Hall waived his rights to his appeals, and in exchange for this (I believe), the DA agreed that Hall would never face charges in the Federal Courts. Kansas hasn't put anyone to death since the mid-60's, so Hall would have died in prison no matter what the punishment. But the Fed's are a different story but Hall won't ever face those charges.

Hall received LWOP for the murder. In September we'll find out what the penalties for the other charges will be, but at this point, he's gone, so those don't really matter. And this is the best thing for the Smith family. They didn't have to endure a trial, and they don't have to worry about the case being overturned.

Thank you so much for the update luvbeaches!
I haven't been to the Kelsey thread in a long time.

It had a good ending for the Smith family. As good as it could be in a situation like the one they were dealing with. It's hard to keep up with all the forums. I'm still not up to speed on what's going with Casey.

Devorahhh is the poster who works at the county clerks office. I wish when I was sifting through all the court filings in the Edwin Hall case I had someone to help me decipher the legal mumbo-jumbo in these things. Sometimes it was very clear, other times, I had NO clue what was in the documents. These attorneys talk in circles.

It's going to be really nice having her help us wade though all the filings and explain the terminology.

LOL...naming their child after a wooden instrument. That's funny. :)

Well, I googled "OBO" and it brought me back to my own thread. :( That's a bummer, but on the bright side I am more famous on Google than I was yesterday!

Interesting that a third of those copies were from Yuri Melich the detective who is working this case. It could be internal housekeeping, related to the cadaver dog info request. Who knows. But I'll be praying it's for charges upcoming.

or could he be stocking up on information for a book??? Everyone knows how LE's like to write books.. :( jmo

Hopefully there is a grandjury convened and there will be an indictment coming down.

Oh My Gosh...... Can you just see Gp and Gm when asked a question about Caylee being dead or an accident happening ? They will just freak out and probably have to be locked up for causing havic if not worse.. When and if the information comes this sweet little baby has seen her death , they will lose it also.. I am hoping that Caylee will be found alive but does not look good .. been to long ... and things arent happening like a kidnapping has happened.. Bless Us all and most of all Caylee .. jmo

I hope if they get that news..... Casey is standing in front of them.

Orlando might not even have to waste money on a trial for Casey & I doubt ANY jury would find George or Cindy guilty. lol

I am not sure what the OBO means, I looked in the clerks's site but I couldn't even find a Zenaida Gonzalez or a Julie Lewis. I will check into a bit more later.

Thanks for checking. I tried looking all over the site. Sometimes places like that will add definitions, but they didn't. I like that site though. Their search engine is pretty good. Sometimes if you cannot find an exact name because you are unsure of the spelling then you can just use an initial like J Lewis..

Good catch. I did just read that when Cindy was seen leaving the Sheriff's office the video shows her putting a large number of papers in her vehicle. Could be they have given her copies or she paid for them of various things they have found. JMO

I gather Cindy would be submitting paperwork, along with the lawyer to have Casey released to Mr. Padilla.

This will be reviewed by the courts Monday AM. In conjunction with the Gdparents visting Casey at jail. I gather when Casey is released it will be in seclusion and at an undisclosed location.
