Those cctv shots are damning, I think. A person just doesn't start having a smiling convo on the phone when they have:

1: Lost a loved one
2: Just been hijacked at gunpoint themselves

This made me think it HAD to be another hookup- he could not be having a happy conversation with anyone who was a friend or family at that point.

I read his ex fiancee was a wealthy heiress with a family in Britain, and that she was becoming concerned about his impotence. I think that made him readjust his sights- he saw someone who was of lower status and had less powerful and supportive family connections in Britain. Easier for him to keep his wild life if he doesn't have a powerful local family to answer to.

BTW, thanks for posting the tweets despite your technical difficulties. Much appreciated!

Do we know yet if SD is going to take the stand?

Honeymoon murder suspect Shrien Dewani would be 'sexually abused' if he is sent to a South African prison a court heard.
His lawyers claimed that he would be 'very vulnerable' to gang attacks and sexual abuse if he stood trial there.

Sounds right up his street. I'm surprised he didn't plead guilty!

I would say that while not arranged, his family would be vetting the woman as she would need to be "socially acceptable" to the family. I'm not sure of her background, but there may not have been a lot of women that fit the bill / ran in their circles in London that didn't hear chatter about his gay life style. He may not have had a lot of options that appeased his family- or have wanted to go through all the phony courting stuff again with another woman. If he was devoting a lot of hours to his hook ups and showed no sexual interest in his dates, they'd likely figure it out.
I'm sure he was angry at the demands of his family to have a traditional life, and transferred that anger to her- even as he was duping her. You see this all the time with straight guys being angry at their wives for expecting them to fulfill their roles as good husbands and dads, even when it is what they signed up for. They murder rather than raise the kids, or have affairs and totally blame the wife. It sounds like he should have found a woman who was just in it for the payoff.

Or even a gay woman who was in a similar predicament.

While I'm not sure whether I think SD is guilty or not at this stage, I'm struggling to find a reason why SAPS would go to such lengths to fit him up. They had three men who had effectively confessed to their role in the shooting, and another who acted as go between. Why then frame SD with all the risk of that unravelling in court with potentially three or four dodgy witnesses having to stick to a made up story? The only reason I've seen put forward is because the murder of a tourist by South africans might have an impact on tourism, whereas if it had been organised by her husband it would not. That doesn't seem to me like sufficient motivation for a police service to come up with such an elaborate stitch up. Any other possible theories?

I don't, TBH. i wouldn't wish rape or sexual assault on ANYONE.

That's a distortion of what I said. It seems to be a fact that he has a predilection for being sexually abused, and I merely made an observation to that effect.

Some early personal opinion's

1) He's guilty
2) He is not Bisexual, he's 100% gay
3) I fear the key witness's will easily be made to look uncredible by dewani's high powered defence team
4) What a shame that a man feel's he has to go to such length's to hide his true self, this is not in any way a defence of what he did because believe me i think he is total scum, i just think some culture's attitude's toward's homosexuality are abhorrent.

Very interesting, particularly Dr's comments re PTSD in a perpetrator would be almost zero; could easily be faked by Dewani as he knows the health care system and what the symptoms of PTSD would be. Again thoughts of Pistorius trial and psychological assessment.

I'm only going to say this once to 'all' that are listening/watching and 'SLEUTHING'..............oh yeah :)

I cannot pre-judge the outcome of either trial so I won't go there..................suffice to say IMO

In the UK I doubt OP would have been a free man all this time since he................erm....killed someone behind a closed door by firing 4 bullets through it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gawd almighty he would have been banged up in a cell waiting for his trial of that I have no doubt!

Dewani would have been in jail alongside the guys who admitted killing his wife full stop.
They would have all been tried together.
Says it all to me that Dewani fought extradition ala Knox ........................
The guys caught/and admitted the crime have been sentenced to 25 yr in jail while all the time he claims PTSD..........yeah rite lmfao.
I bet they did too but did anyone listen to them?
Doubt it somehow..............................................money talks and it stinks it really does.

Sorry for hijacking your post patCee :))

Someone who is into BDSM (I am not!!!) consents to that activity. It's a whole world away from being sexually abused against one's will.

Dont mean to appear to have a sense of humour failure but...

Leigh-Anne Jansen ‏@LA_JANSEN 3m3 minutes ago

(cont) In November 2010, while at the Cape Grace, SD was signed into Recon.

Recon log-in times: 15/11/10 at 21h09 UK time and on 16/11/10 at 16h55 UK time.

He couldn't be without it even on his honeymoon. After her murder!!!

And the defence will ask......................."do you know who was logged in at the time"?
And they will then maybe ask........." could it have been Anni.................is she bi-sexual as well" ?

exactly the same as the 🤬🤬🤬🤬 log-in in the OP trial...............Roux asked the question it was then dropped.

Interesting that the CCTV is shown on the panorama prog and his smiling is described merely as evidence of his 'shifting emotions' after AD's death.

Also sad to see video of the two talking and laughing prior to the murder being suggested as evidence that SD can't have been planning to murder her. So naive!

And why SAPS handed over all their evidence to panorama I've no idea. Unbelievable!

1) yep I think he was involved
2) yep
3) I doubt they will succeed on this, though they will try. This guy seems to be well respected in his profession, and does not look to me like someone who would be easily rattled.
4) could have not said it better.

SD smiling on phone on CCTV...

If that footage is submitted into evidence, it will be meaningless. From a professional point of view, there is absolutely nothing that's impossible as part of the grieving process. Were I hired as an expert witness in this case, I would have to testify to exactly that because it's factually true.

However, non-professionally, and considering a whole host of additional factors here, I think his jaunty walk and huge grin is 100% "telling," and what it's telling me is G.U.I.L.T.Y.

I don't think this was an arranged marriage. However, I do understand that his parents/family were really pushing it.

Over on the News24.com comments, someone said that maybe his parents thought that a marriage would "cure" their son of his sexual orientation.

There may be truth to that.

My first husband was a pathological liar. When I finally realized that the first thing I did was throw him out The second thing I did was march right over to his parents and say, "Why didn't you tell me that nothing he ever told me was true (military service, university, etc.)?! They said, "Well, you seemed like such a nice girl. We were hoping you could straighten him out." I couldn't believe my ears!!

Now, you might be thinking, "But, CM, how could you possibly have missed all the signs?" There WEREN'T any signs! He had fabricated letters, service medals, diploma's, honorable discharge papers - everything!!

It was a complete NIGHTMARE!!

So, yes, things like this do happen.

De Kock confirmed that Tongo, who had been pre-booked by Shrien's personal assistant,[38] had driven the couple from Cape Town International Airport to the Cape Grace hotel on Friday, 12 November. After their arrival, Tongo alleged that he and Shrien had a conversation in the hotel lobby:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Anni_Dewani

According to Tongo, the killing was planned and carried out within 24 hours of the Dewanis arriving at Cape Town airport after four days on safari. Tongo, a limousine driver who offered himself for private hire, had been booked by Mr Dewani’s secretary to take the couple to the luxury Cape Race hotel.

It was there, according to Tongo, that Mr Dewani came to him with an extraordinary proposal. “[He] approached me alone and asked me if I knew anyone that could 'have a client of his taken off the scene’,” the confession said.

“After some discussion with him, I understood that he wanted someone, a woman, killed.

How did Dewani's secretary know how to contact Tongo to book his services? I can't find anything on the net where he advertises his services.

There's something suspicious here IMO.

Is it possible that initial arrangements were made via somebody in SA that he might have met on one of his dodgy websites?

These CCTV images taken within 3 hours after SD is told Anni was found dead. Notice the grieving while with supporters, when he is alone and on the phone he is smiling. I have no doubt he was on some gay site setting up a date. It would be easy to check the time of the CCTV image and the time and i.d of call.

I'd love these two photos to be produced in court. Showing is better than telling.

Ah, I see. I cannot think why Dewani tried so hard to get Anni to go through with the marriage - unless he had the idea all along that, once a grieving widower, he could then tell family he was too griefstricken to ever marry again?

Thereby leaving him free to carry on with his Gaydar stuff for the rest of his life while his family is saying, "Poor Shrien, it's so sad. He can't get over losing Anni".

  • #620
To me it just seems that he was feeling liberated.....There was zero grief at all and he was quite pleased!... JMHO
