police searched for a second suspect after Mngeni.
PH: We were searching for Simphiwe Gom, aka, Mawewe
The true identity became known later.
Traverso asks Mopp to lead the witness with reference to fact, not hearsay
Yes, at some point he must have realized the police mistake. I can think of no good reason he wouldn't have told them. It's turned out to be quite convenient for Dewani's defence though, hasn't it? He can't be held responsible for anything that was said during that call now.
Hang on. If defence is allowed to present social media as evidence, shouldn't prosecution be able to present Dewani's online presence as evidence too? All the gaydar stuff etc?

Mr van Zyl also summed up his client's contribution to the fiery email exchange as, 'Shrien says he loves Anni', referring to bullet point number three of his e-mail.
'I love you. You know that. Surely this is the most important thing. The rest will just come,' it read.
Intriguingly, the two-page print out of the correspondence revealed that it was an innocuous – if impersonal – message from Dewani, which was obviously followed by a more intimate confession in person - that triggered her fervent reply.

Two questions I have - 1) Why are Shrien and Anni emailing each other on the 5 November, 2010?
2) Why does Shrien Dewani sign his email to the 'love of his life' with, Regards..... and as the DM pointed out, why is it written in bullet form? And I love you is number 3.
Very sad way to start a marriage, at least it's nice to know the day she died he was a little more affectionate towards her, but even still, the last footage of Anni with SD, they are posing for pictures for a photographer at the restaurant, immediately after the picture is taken, they move away from each other.

Just caught up on today so far, thanks for all the tweets. Does anyone else feel that each additional witness in this case makes it less and less clear?! [emoji52]
I too found the emails strange. According to S.D. statement on the same day the emails were sent 5.Nov. Anni went to the doctors in Bristol about how to increase chances of falling pregnant, and according to Dewani he states that on the same day he asked his brother Preyen to sort out flights for their honeymoon in S.A.
The emails from Dewani sounded more like he was writing to a business partner than to the girl he had just married, the girl he loved. Seems odd reading those emails, when according to him the day was so full of exciting things re: planning honeymoon and seeing doc about getting pregnant.
I'm with you, thank goodness our tweeters are giving us a précis of what's being said from time to time, otherwise I would have NOOOO idea.
