There will be police statement witnesses, 3 post mortems, blood spatter experts, phone and laptop examinations, perhaps Marli's treating doctors, [insert SCREAM], and that's before the defence gets started!

I'm thinking : what sort of a court system hears from one witness and then calls it a day!

Exactly!!!!! After following GBC trial, Ian Stewarts and Nathan Matthews to name a few, UK and Oz, nothing like this?!

I think he was well and truly drunk the night before, maybe whilst committing murder. I think what happens is the smell of alcohol, if there is enough, leaks through the pores in our skin as our body tries to eliminate it and also from the lungs during air exchange. I am sure we could find something on the internet for it. Rather than a pure alcohol smell I think it is bad breath with a sweet odour,ie not truly the smell of alcohol.

I feel sure the policeman who first spoke to Henri would have smelt alcohol as HVB was very likely to have been drinking after the murders. In fact, I think he said he had an alcoholic drink, did he not? I am sure that was to disguise more than one drink. One can see why it took him so long to call for help, what with sobering up and getting his story right (a joke really). I suspect he fell asleep at some stage between the murders and calling the ambulance which was done on waking up. This was his unconscious state he referred to - :) !

Yes, Prime! Ian Stewarts .... Not a minute wasted of court time! All day, every day ..as it should be. This is like some sort of very bad movie!

OT I read in a Cambridge newspaper (I think) that the police are STILL following up Diane's death. The report was dated 20th May but it seemed old news so I didn't make a point of posting it here until now.

I understand, certain wines and Rum/Whiskey has that effect. I agree, the alcohol probably fueled his anger to proceed with the killings.
Martin didn't have a chance, he was protecting Rudi it seems, I expected more damage done to HvB, the bumps and bruises were so slight. HvB slaughtered them easily!

He expected not to be a suspect?!

Correction to my tweets: Henri's 1st visit was night after murders. His 1st visit was at 20:25. 2nd visit was 21:45.

(so the second visit was just over an hour later?)

Well, it's goodnight from me! Get some sleep everyone; there might be as many as 2 witnesses tomorrow and JJ, be comforted by knowing it's OISA!
